Steam Punk Digital Scrapbooking Templates, Gorgeous Page Layouts, A New Shop and a Free Sample

Welcome to The Cherry on Top.

I've been feverishly getting products into our new shop, Kreative Design Studio at Design Bundles.  If the name sounds familiar, it is the same one we've been using at ETSY.  I am trying not to confuse anyone.  Hehehe...As if?!  I'll explain much more about our new endeavor, but first I've got to show off these really unique templates AND the amazing pages from my ladies.  Brace yourselves!  The pages are jaw dropping.

Creative Member Caro asked if I'd consider designing steam punk templates.  My first thought was, COOL!  Then after the idea sank into the grey matter, I already started doubting that this would be a "popular" idea.  In good ole Cherry fashion, I then thought, "Fig it!"  Let's do it!  Hehehe...I hesitated putting the preview in the CT's group and the first reaction was a bit skeptical and there was a light amount of enthusiasm.  Then the pages started coming in.  Some ladies didn't even know what steam punk was, but were intrigued.  More pages and the fire was lit!  I got a lot of pages and not just pages, gorgeous, jaw dropping pages that totally blew my mind.  Ok!  Ok!  We'll get started with the pages and then you can check out our new shop and grab that new Commercial Use freebie.

When I have to get my previews together, I usually chose a few that show off the strongest appeal to most of our fans.  This was so hard to do this time.  You'll see just what I mean and if ya don't know what Steam Punk is, you will when you're finished going through the blog.

Steam Punk has a very heavy, industrial feel.  Often metals are incorporated with an even Industrial Revolution time period vibe.  It's modern and it's vintage.  It's incredibly innovative and creative, like our templates.

Designs from CryztalRain

Often, a darker palette dominates a Steam Punk image as you'll see, but don't let that stop you from going lighter.

Rosie's Designs was the choice designer from my gals.

Below, the template was slightly repositioned and looks super.

Check out all of the delicious texture on the hat!

Heartstrings Scrap Art also has awesome Steam Punk inspired kits with a bit lighter touch.

Goodies from a mix including Paula Kesserling.

Just look at how incredibly artistic you can go!

Goodies from The Lily Pad.

Here's more of a bright whimsical side.  Stunning!

Caro cracked me up with this one.  Can you find the template?!  Come on...Keep looking...Santa's glasses!  BUAH!  Still worth showing off, right?!

Another mix.

Just to show you more from Heart Strings Scrap Art and the brighter side of Steam Punk here's a page I did with our EZ2Luv templates.  Don't be turned off by the dark side of Steam Punk.  There's a whimsical really fun appeal, too.

I skipped last week's blog so I could focus on getting more products in the new shop and I'm trying to come up with a more efficient system of getting products in both shops without being too repetitive.  So, I took last week's templates, Crafty Cuttables and...

Goodies from GingerScraps Mini Challenge.

...merged a couple of layers and designed some cuttables for traditional scrappers.  They can also be used to make pretty papers and they are Commercial Use, too.  Everything in the Design Bundles shop is Commercial Use. Just look back at the pages the ladies designed.  Jarmila's page, directly above.  Isn't that a gorgeous paper?!  The lighting, the texture...It makes a great paper template and I certainly will be adding pretty papers in the Design Bundles shop designed from our templates.  Remember, when you purchase from GingerScraps those products are for Personal Use only.  I'd check both shops in case you prefer the way I use one product over another.

I love making mock ups!  You've seen plenty over the years, right here on the blog.  They are used to display products in a more creative way than the typical previews you see in the digital scrapbooking realm.  Keep scrolling to see what I mean.

Remember these?

I used them to show off freebies and products.

It's a much more appealing manner of product display.

I also use mock ups to show off my own products and I've got a huge list of ideas.  If you'd like mock ups to show off something specific, give me a shout and I'll add it to my list.  You can expect crafty mock ups very soon.

I designed this mock up with someone else's mock up.  Hehehe...I just added the frame and the photo and adjusted the colors of the room a bit.  That's my painting from the Flamazing Collection.  Most of my portion of Flamazing can be found in the new shop and used for Commercial Use.  If you do visit the shop, you can get a glimpse of something to come, but shh....don't tell anyone!

Also new in the shop and I'm so excited about this pack of textured papers.  They are not only layered templates, but I've also included a folder full of each layer in png format.  So if you are a designer who loves to add a lot of texture to your papers, then you'll love this set.  I've only just begun to learn how to use brushes and OMG has it opened up a new world for me.  I'm addicted to making papers!

Get a folder started of textures like these and keep them close at hand to design awesome texture rich papers in a few clicks!

I've got one free sample for you, using the templates.  It is not a layered version.

If you are not familiar with Design Bundles, I invite you to go and take a look around.  It's ideal for crafters and I've been shopping there for quite awhile before I started my shop there.  I also shared free stuff from Design Bundles, which you can also check out a little further down.  You know I love my freebies and will certainly be sharing more of them, right here.

This is so super cute and there is a lot more like it!  So many fun gift ideas!

At the moment, these lovely illustrations are free.  Grab them while you can get them for free!

If you are all about the free stuff, scroll through the blog.  It's FULL OF FREEBIES!

If you are like me and only buy when something is ridiculously on sale, my shop at Design Bundles has nearly a dozen items that are around $2!  I'd so love it if you started following me there and hearted our products.  It helps me BIG time and I certainly would appreciate it.

Thanks so much for all of your support.  I certainly hope we inspire you and brighten your day.

Get ready for next week!  It's going to be HUGE!!!  I'll have 2 amazing giveaways in our group and more fabulous freebies.  If ya love The Cherry, get on our mailing list so you can keep up with all of our action. We'd love to have you join us in the group, too.

Happy scrapping!

Free Printable Mother's Day Card from JoCee Designs and Many More Hybrid Scrapbooking Ideas For You

Welcome to The Cherry On Top's Hybrid Saturday.

UPDATE: My shop at GingerScraps is no longer open. I'm leaving the images for inspiration. I do have a shop at Design Bundles with templates, scrap stuff and a lot more. Maybe check it out?

I'm posting several projects today, both old and new.  So if you are new to The Cherry, you'll get to see a lot of our more popular hybrid projects.

Today's hybrid is brought to you by JoCee Designs new collection, A Mother's Love.

If you still have not got a card for dear ole mom, use ours.  Let me give you a few tips, first.  I've not a printer in our quarantine house so I asked a team member to print this out and tell how it came out.  She said that the journal card came out full sized.  It is designed as a 3x4 standard size, so make sure you check your printer settings before printing.

Also she didn't get the edging just perfect when she printed it.  The card is exactly 8 inches so if you want to shrink it up just a touch so you get all of the edges, to be sure, then make the adjustments necessary or just around them so it is all even.

Try to use your program's "preview" function for the best results.

After printing, cut off any excess you might have.  Print on rigid paper if it's an option and check those printer settings for best or fine results if it's an option on your printer.  This a folding card.  You'll fold each panel.  Aligning it up just right with the other panel.  Cut your journal card and adhere it to the center of the first panel, as shown in the below image.  Fold it all first THEN adhere the journal card.

I'm providing you with not only this card, but the template as well.  Maybe you will use Jo's kit and design your own card?  On the template, where to fold is indicated with lines.

A Mother's Love

Here's some new goodies from Clever Monkey Graphics.  Sassy Mom's Day.  I used our Fabulous Photos templates.  It's another one of those template packs that I keep going back to.  Great for multiple photo pages.

Sassy Mom's Day

Here are a few of our most popular hybrid projects all linked up for you with tutorials and or more information.

This is by far one of my favorites and if you are into hybrid or you'd like to print out digital scrapbooking goodies and use them traditionally, you'll love these tutorials.

It all started off with this digital page...

I put my page through a png ripping action from Lisa Rosas to get all of these individual images, the exact size as the ones on my page and simply pasted them in 8x11 documents in my PSE program and printed them out.  I printed out my page to so I could see exactly where everything needed to go. Click on either image for the full tutorials.

And Voila!  I call it "The Perfect Page" kit.  If I would have had a cutting machine, this would have went really fast!  Really just making a puzzle.

step by step tutorial

Here's another less work intensive project for you.  You'll find a free template to whip up this cute, mini album in probably under an hour.  I made it for my niece and designed a pocket for some cash-o-la.

This album is even more simple and Yes!  I am also giving you a free template.  You might be able to crank out a mini in under 10 minutes!  Wait until you see the other side!

This is still a favorite project of mine and it's an up cycle project as well.

gift idea

I recycled my Christmas card's packaging!  Shrank up some digital pages to 4x4 inches, put them all around the box's sides and stuffed the boxes full of goodies.  My nieces loved their gifts!

Our dress templates are one of our biggest draws.  Here's one used digitally...

and here are both templates, used traditionally.  They would look cute in a scrapbook or on a card.

This was the dress that started it all and our most popular blog to date.

This is one of our latest hybrid projects.  It's really easy to design your own things when you have just the right stuff.

Here's another blog on how to design a mini album very quickly using the word art and frame clusters from collections such as this.
