Fall Sale In The Shop, Scrapbooking Inspiration and Freebies

Welcome to The Cherry On Top.

I'm getting ready to go to Germany for a few weeks.  I sure could use a change of scenery and less time in the kitchen.  All of that laundry and sensible eating is getting to me.  Hehehe...I'm trying to get so much stuff together before leaving.  You know how that is...packing for yourself, the family, getting the house ready, the pets, pet sitters...Sometimes ya have to ask yourself if it's worth it?  Of course, it is.

I've got some new themed templates in the shop this week.  Although Halloween isn't really all that popular in Belgium or Germany, it's slowly making its way.  I just decorated my huge picture window for it.  My darn camera is broken so no pics for now.

Those new templates are also included in the sale.  I think I got all 10 fall themed products on sale.  If I missed something, let me know.

Here's what they look like.  I have another Halloween set in the shop if you need more.

Here's what I did with them.

 Spooktacular Templates

Scrapped myself with JoCee's new kit, Trick or Treat.  You can grab that at GingerScraps.  Aren't the colors just divine?  Do I make a good witch or what? Don't answer that!  Hehehe...

I actually left the cauldron in two pieces so you can customize it. See how mine came out when I used a puffy bevel style from Made By Keuntje.  I also used her new collection, The Boo Crew for this page.  What a darling name.  She's so great at coming up with unique goodies for her kits.  I don't have too many photos for Halloween, but that's no big deal.  I can use the photo spots to show off papers and or journal cards.

Here's more with Dana's puffy styles, my template and her Boo Crew collection.  I pulled out most matching colors for this one.

This is Jo's Trick or Treat kit, again.  It's so bright and playful.  I just love it.  I went with a glowing effect on my pumpkin.  That's my window from a few years ago.  I did use some of these pieces again.  Mostly bones and skeletons and spiders this time.  Of course candles.  I love candles.

Now on to the Team's pages...

Freebie Friday!

Welcome to The Cherry On Top.

If you're living in this half of the hemisphere things may be cooling down.  I've been sweeping and raking leaves for two weeks already.

Although I'm sick of leaves outside, I had a great time playing with these leaf templates and other fall type templates from BooLand Designs and GS Creations.

This kind of digital scrap uses Commercial Use products.  Each designer has their own Terms Of Use and explain fully how you are to use their products.  Most allow free rein with a shout out to the designer.  Check carefully before you sell anything using Commercial Use products.

With Personal Use products, you need explicit permission to use their products outside of personal use.

So I designed each piece here and then put together this lovely fall scene.

You are more than welcome to right click, save and use as Personal Use.

I couldn't decide what I wanted to do with this.  I turned it into a tag, too.  I'll be doing some serious hybriding this weekend with some of our projects in between putting a second coat on my huge picture window.  I'm redoing the entire living/dining.  Ugh!

I just put up this free Halloween card on our Facebook Page.  We'd love if you grab it over there and become a fan.  We post several freebies every single day.

Autumn Decorating Fast, Easy and Inexpensive

Welcome to The Cherry On Top.

We've put together a variety of decor ideas to give you inspiration with your fall decorating.  In typical Cherry fashion, we keep it easy and we also keep cost in mind, too.  Try our family friendly, easy on the wallet ideas to make your home feel warm and cozy this season.

This first one is ours.  A large, tin tray full of seasonal nuts, a candle, small pumpkin, pine cone and a free printable that we modge podged on a shoe box.  I just love that quirky quote.

We blogged all about our Halloween decorating last year.  In Belgium, Halloween isn't all that popular, but in our tiny village, we're trying to change that.  Here's a shot of our front yard.  I made this out of plastic bags and some current clothes.   Hehehe...Those are my rain boots and my hubby's hat.

I got these awesome images from Pinterest, drew them on to some sturdy, old card board boxes, painted them with black craft paint and used scissors and an exacto to cut them out.  Click on the first image to get to the site where I got the images and the second to see the blog on how we made this window.

 davelowe

Pretty cool, eh?!  We got a lot of attention for this window.  I just put a white sheet behind it all and some lighting behind it as well.  People were snapping pics left and right and were truly impressed.  Ha!

 TCOT

We've also got a blog on how to make this simple witch's broom from stuff you've probably got laying around the house.  You can make this in minutes.

Here's a totally economical way to decorate with natural goodies that might be laying right outside your door.  Clean up your vases, drop in a nice seasonal candle and put the nuts or small pines cones all around the candle.  Ready in minutes and so, so cozy!  This image is hooked up to even more fall ideas.

These next three are totally fabulous and all three images are hooked up to a site where you can find even more lovely seasonal wreaths.  I cannot choose a favourite.

Grab all of your remnants and get tying this lovely wreath.

How's this for scary chic?  If you don't have the black elements like these, paint some you do have.

How lovely is this area?  Seasonal colours reflecting the colours of the view from your window.  Bringing the outside in without that chilly air.
