Come summer, and whether you are in an office or home does not matter. The soaring temperatures make air conditioners a must-have.

Air conditioners are chosen depending on several factors, like room size, tonnage, ones that go with the window, and ones that are mounted on the wall.

Another feature to consider in an air conditioner is whether it's ductless or not.

WHAT IS A DUCTLESS SPLIT SYSTEM?

As the name suggests, ductless cooling systems work without any ductwork. These systems consist of two units: an outdoor compressor and an indoor evaporator.

Role of the indoor unit- Introduce cool and conditioned air into the area being cooled Role of the indoor unit- Absorb the heat from the room.

Role of the outdoor unit- Eject the heat absorbed to the outside.

The indoor and outdoor units are connected through a small hole in the wall.

The most common type of ductless systems is wall-mounted, though window units are also available.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF DUCTLESS AIR CONDITIONERS?

1-Reduced energy bill

Ductless air conditioners have a lesser impact on your monthly energy bills. When ducts are present in your air conditioner, they are a huge source of leaks. Any air leaks mean that your air conditioner will have to work harder, drawing in more energy to keep the area cooler. When air conditioners are ductless, the source of air leaks itself is gone, thereby reducing your energy bill.

2- Good indoor air quality

Indoors or outdoors, the quality of the air we breathe is supremely important. Invisible dust and bacteria or even viruses impact our health negatively.

With ducted air conditioners, the ductwork itself is a source of dust and bacteria. Ductwork becomes home even for harmful fungi, thus making your indoor air unhealthy. Ductless cooling, on the other hand, comes with filter options that can block out much of the dust and bacteria.

The dust and pollutants in air can damage the skin and make it vulnerable to diseases. But Vitamin C filter in the TCL AC units acts as an additional protection to make the air incredibly pure. This ensures that your skin is getting the moisturising effect.

The silver ion filter in TCL ACs kills bacteria in the air and controls the growth of microbes by destroying their inner configuration and absorbing the cell elements and making air free from bacteria, viruses, fungi, and spores.

The 2.5 M dust filter also help to eliminate the dust and pollutants from the air and provides with fresh, clean and cool air

Flexibility

Ductless air conditioners offer flexible solutions. If the air conditioner is ducted, there is only one ducted unit for the entire house. With ductless, each air conditioner can be placed in a separate area as needed.

This means only the area room that you want to cool can have the air conditioner on and not all the air conditioners in the house like in the case of ducted systems.

Again, this draws less electricity, which in turn means a reduced energy bill

Easy Maintenance

Ductless air conditioners have fewer parts compared to ducted ones. They come with a few filters that can be serviced regularly with your half-yearly maintenance service.

Just ensure you schedule your air conditioner maintenance regularly. TCL has more than 450 service centers across all of India. With happy customers as its top priority, TCL even gives its customers two free services within 12 months of air conditioner purchase.

Reduced Carbon Footprint

Going back to point no.1, ductless systems draw less energy. They are highly efficient. High efficiency means a lower monthly electricity bill for you but also, lesser carbon footprint on the planet. Another factor is the refrigerant used. TCL uses the ECO-friendly R-32 refrigerant. It has a much lower GWP compared to R - 22 and R-410 and is remarkable for its

low environmental impact. The R32 refrigerant has at least 30% less impact on global warming compared to R410-A

If you are buying new air conditioners for your home, ductless should be your first choice. They are smart, easy to install and shift from one place to another and get it installed as per your convenience, easy to use, and maintain, provide clean air, reduce energy bills, are efficient, and even have reduced carbon footprint.
