Ben Sherman: Celebrating 50 years of Style;  Autumn Winter 2014

Celebrating 50 years of style, Ben Sherman has been a driving force in British style and culture, having been influenced by music, politics and other cultural cues.
This year, Ben Sherman takes on a classic look and freshens it with a modern twist. Sporting heavy wool coats, the classic trench, rolled up denim and leather skirts across the new range there was always room for Ben Sherman's now iconic button down shirt.
The Button Down Shirt - its basic design was influenced by the classic American Ivy League shirts that Ben Sherman designer saw in his travels to America. Using that basic design he then added the back hook, the button on the back of the collar and chose unique fabrics and cuts for that unique look for Britain.
Now, five decades on Ben Sherman has been adopted by the youth culture and style icons, ever evolving. And it is still loved and cherished today in the current decade.

A Preview: Fossil's Leathers Range 2013

Oh, the beautiful leathers at Fossil. I was very lucky to attend Fossil's 2013 preview at Vicinity Dining in Alexandria. I got my hands right onto the bags and watches and loved the shapes and texture of them all. Every item, you can tell, have been carefully designed for the modern woman - a classic shape, a beautiful feel to the item, and either with a touch of colour or with fun quirky prints. The best print was one designed specifically for Fossil - the Pencil Shavings Print (featured in the 2nd photo) on their bag that sometimes make you think it's either fans, kaleidoscope or splashes of paint. Yet, the best thing about the Fossil brand is: they take care of the treatment of their production, to make sure their range looks beautiful, is of high quality, and is something you are able to keep in your wardrobe for years. And they are so very affordable - with stunning iPhone cases starting from $39 to bags and wallets starting from $69. I'm already on the website at this very minute picking out my new watch and coin purse <3

And on another shopping note, Australian Design Alannah Hill has an AMAZING sale in store now, starting from today (Friday 24th) for two days. Nation Wide. So now that you know this, I'm sure you are also opening a tab on your browser to start shopping Alannah Hill now.

A Fashion Event: Fashion Palette Runway Show 2013

A couple of weeks ago (before a much needed holiday) I attended the now famous Australia Fashion Palette Runway show for 2013. Fashion Palette is an ever-growing community nourishing the Australian fashion designers of Sydney and New York. I watched beautiful garments from the design houses of Akira, Bettina Liano, Wild Pony, Leona Edmiston, Mackenzie Mode and Gemeli Power. I admired the fierce feather hats on the girls from Wild Pony, the delicate lace and chiffon from Akira and the fun prints designed by Leona Edmiston. I can't wait to see how much bigger and diverse the Fashion Palette community will get as more designers emerge and flourish and will be able to showcase their talents next year.
