Mojo 293: Look Who's Turning 10!

Hello! It's time for another Mojo Monday sketch (#293)! Today's sketch is brought to us by Julee. Tomorrow is Sabrina's 10th birthday, and this is the card that I made for her.

I was in the mood to color, and this image just screams Sabrina right now. It's Pure Innocence - Feeling Sassy. I colored her with Copic markers, cut her out and popped her up with foam tape. I flipped the sketch and allowed myself some "creative play" with the sketch.

Here's a detail shot with all the popped up layers:

I hope you will play along with us this week. Please visit the Mojo Monday blog for all the details and to see the wonderful creations by the Mojo Makers. You can also visit their individual blogs for more details:

It's Your Day

Hello! Happy weekend! Just 14 more days of school... yay! I'm popping in with a card that I made using the latest My Favorite Things sketch, MFTWSC122. Mother's Day is sneaking up on me, so I decided to make a card for my mom.

I used Lisa Johnson's Pretty Poppies and the coordinating Die-namics, Poppies and Leaves. I love almost every flower stamp that I see, but I especially love that strip of text stamp that is part of the set. My sentiment is from Who's That Girl - Time for the Bubbly.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Stamps: LJD Pretty Poppies, WTG Time for the Bubbly (MFT)

Twins

If you are looking for my Taylored Expressions/Authentique hop post,
please scroll down or click HERE. Thank you!

Hello! Happy weekend! Just 6 weeks of school left (not that I am counting down the days until summer vacation...). Today I have a layout that uses the latest MFT scrap sketch, MFTSCRAP6. All the details are in the MFT forum on Splitcoast, HERE.

The idea of this layout has been floating around in my head for awhile now. I mainly wanted to document the relationship between Dan and Sabrina (and she insists they dress alike on the weekends). I'm not even sure when it started, but a few years ago, she became obsessed with wearing this Perry the Platypus shirt (from Phineas & Ferb - Disney Channel for those of you who haven't heard of it). She always wears it at home (and would wear it to school every day if I let her). Suffice it to say that she has several identical shirts. :)

Note: I showed the layout to Dan and he asked exactly what I figured he would ask, "why didn't you at least leave the shirts their color instead of making the entire photo b/w?". I did it on purpose because I have SO many photos of him or her or him + her wearing these shirts that I didn't want to match my layout to those colors!

I flipped the main elements of the sketch to accommodate the vertical orientation of my photo and moved/added a few elements as well. I added some journaling on a Project Life grid card. I used the largest Circle STAX 1 and the Open Scallop Doily for my circular elements. The two sentiments to the right of the photo are from Laina Lamb's Document It - Captured Memories and die cut with the Fishtail Flags STAX. I also added the date on the bottom of the layout with Laina's Journal It - Calendar Basics. Here are a couple of detail shots:

To create the title, I used the High-Rise Alphabet Lowercase. I die cut the letters twice on patterned paper and once on chipboard and adhered them all together to make them thicker. You can see a bit of the dimension above.

Here's a closer look at my journaling. On the bottom of my journaling card, I stitched on a strip of patterned paper and stamped "Remember" (from LLD Journal It - Top Ten). Finally, I added a flower element using the Mini Hybrid Heirloom Rose.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Stamps: LLD Document It - Captured Memories, LLD Journal It - Calendar Basics, LLD Journal It - Top Ten (MFT)

Project Life 2013 | Week 9

Hello! I'm here with another week of our Project Life 2013!

For my Project Life album, I am using the Seafoam Core Kit, the monthly Studio Calico Project Life kits and my stash. For my pages, I'll use mostly Design A and Design F for my main pages and Design H for my inserts. I chose these because they seem to suit my shooting style the best.

Here is Project Life 2013 | Week 9 (this week I used 2 Design A page protectors):

Week 9 covers February 25 through March 3, so I am officially into March! Yay! Here's a closer look at the left side:

I had made the filler card (on the right side) a couple of months ago and had used some MFT supplies, so I decided to pull out more MFT stamps and Die-namics to add to my spread. I added "week 9" using the High-Rise Alphabet Lowercase and High-Rise Numbers. I stamped "Under the Weather" (from Pure Innocence Under the Weather) onto a strip that I cut out using Blueprints 1, trimmed to size and stapled it to my Currently card. I also added the little box of popcorn to my lower left photo (using DC At the Movies and the coordinating dies). Here's the right side:

The filler card that I talked about above is one that I made a couple of weeks ago. I used some word stickers from My Mind's Eye and added text to a couple of my photos. I created the journaling card using a plain grid card and stamps from LLD Document It - Right This Way.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Every Day You Make Me Proud

Hello! Happy Hump Day! Today I have a layout using the latest My Favorite Things scrap sketch, MFTSCRAP5.

This was a fun sketch to work with. I opted to use fewer elements and leave more white space on my background. The photos are of Sabrina that I recently posted HERE. We had found out that her Valentine's Day party was moved up a day, so she had to write all 31 Valentine's in one sitting. I made this layout to celebrate her success since she struggles with her fine motor skills and writing is often tough for her.

I used a few different MFT stamp sets and various Die-namics today (see complete list at the end of my post). Here are a few detail shots:

I framed my favorite photo using LLD Insert It - Instaframe. I embossed the sentiment on the lower part of the frame (sentiment from Clearly Sentimental About You).

I stamped Love U (from Lovey-Dovey Sentiments) using the MFT Razzle Berry ink... see that great ink coverage? ♥

I stamped, colored and fussy cut the sweet image from Pure Innocence - Love You With All My Heart. I popped her on top of a layered banner cut from Jumbo Banner Day STAX. See that cute little camera to the right of her? That's one of the cameras from LLD Accent It - Cute Cameras!

For all the details on the latest MFT scrap sketch, including how to play along, please visit the post in the MFT forum on SCS... HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Cute as a Button Project Life Card

Hello! I'm popping in with another filler card for my Project Life album. I didn't get a chance to work on my PL album this weekend, so I am hoping for a productive week so that I can get caught up on the last 2 weeks. Instead of adding to my greeting/note card stash, I've decided to make some cards sized to fit into the 6x4 slots in my PL album. This sweet girl reminds me of Sabrina and her latest obsession with wearing orange pants. :)

This one uses the sweet Pure Innocence - Cute as a Button stamp. She was stamped, colored/pieced and fussy cut then popped up on the oval. I used MFTWSC110 for my layout. All details for the My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club can be found on SCS, HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Supplies ~
Stamps: Pure Innocence - Cute as a Button (MFT)
Paper: My Girl (My Mind's Eye), Whip Cream (MFT), Classic Crest Classic Natural White (Neenah)

MFTSCRAP2: Sabrina Ballerina

Hello! Today I have a scrapbook page with some of Sabrina's latest ballet pictures. I used the latest scrapbook sketch from My Favorite Things, MFTSCRAP2.

I started with a Kraft cardstock base layer. My patterned papers are from the Studio Calico 34th Street Main Kit. Here are some details.

I created my title by stamping Sabrina onto the Die-namics File Tab using the Banner Day Alphabet. Ballerina was created with the High-Rise Alphabet Uppercase and High-Rise Alphabet Lowercase. In the upper right, I used the LLD Accent It - Tags and Flags and stamped November (from LLD Journal It - Calendar Basics) and 2012 (from LLD Document It - Days and Dates). I also added a few Studio Calico wood veneer stars.

I used the Die-namics First Place Award Ribbon Die for my two flags above. "Take a Bow" is from Sweet Spring Jolinne and "Dance With Your Heart" is from Winter Recital Jolinne (both retired MFT stamp sets). Both are up on foam tape.

Finally, a closer look at my journaling, which was handwritten onto a Project Life 3x4 grid card. The "Today" fabric brad is from Dear Lizzy (and part of the Studio Calico kit).

Thanks so much for stopping by!

MFTWSC100: Joy

Hello! I hope you are having a great week... one more day until the weekend! Today I have a card using the latest MFT sketch, MFTWSC100.

I used Pure Innocence - Elf Girl on my card today. She makes the cutest elf, no? I stamped and colored her, die cut my rectangle, then I proceeded to smudge some red marker all over my rectangle. No worries, though - I fixed my problem by fussy cutting her, die cutting another rectangle, then popping her on top with foam tape. I stamped JOY (from Seasonal Sentiments) onto the smallest Decorative Circle Tag STAX and added a little red bow to the top of the tag.

All the details for the MFT Wednesday sketch challenge can be found HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

MFTSCRAP1: Your Favorite Movies

Hello! I hope you're having a great weekend! I have been working on this scrapbook layout off and on for the past few days. It documents Sabrina's top 10 favorite movies. She watches the same movie over and over for awhile, then she moves on to something else, but these 10 seem to recycle. Her current fave is the newest Tinker Bell movie, Secret of the Wings.

I used the scrapbook sketch from My Favorite Things, MFTSCRAP1. I started with a Kraft cardstock base layer. The red patterned paper is from the My Mind's Eye 12 Days of Christmas collection. I added a strip of cream cardstock and another Kraft layer over it. The text on the Kraft layer is from First Class Friend. My decorative elements on the top right were created with the LLD Accent It Tags and Flags Die-namics.

I used the High-Rise Alphabet Uppercase Die-namics to cut out Favorite a few times out of Hot Fudge cardstock, then I adhered each letter to itself (to create thicker letters). I added 3 layers of stitching across the letters.

To create the list of movies, I used LLD Journal It - Top 10 and LLD Document It - December and the LLD Insert It - 3x4 Insert Die-namics.

On the left hand side, I used the At the Movies Die-namics to create a film strip for my photos. At the top, I used Pure Innocence - Popping By. I stamped, colored and fussy cut her out, then I popped her onto my top frame. Top 10 is stamped with the new MFT Wild Cherry ink (stamp is from LLD Journal It - Top 10) and cut with the LLD Accent It Tags and Flags Die-namics. Sabrina loves to eat popcorn and her drink of choice is usually milk. :)

Finally, I added two typical photos of Sabrina while she is watching her movies. The first is with her iPad and iPhone (she likes to sync movies on both while she is watching them on the TV). When I got my new iPhone, she and Dan "inherited" it. She uses it for movies and to take photos, and he reads ebooks. The only problem is when they both want to use it at the same time. :) The second photo is her in the car, watching on the portable DVD player. I added the movie directors clap board sign (stamp and Die-namics from At the Movies) and stamped the date using LLD Journal It - Calendar Basics and LLD Document It - Days and Dates.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I followed the MFT sketch (see below) and a sentiment that was included in an exclusive mini sentiment set when I purchased the Who's that Girl Chooses Hope VIP Kit last year. For the Rays of Hope Challenge, we were to use mostly gray tones with a splash of color. For most of my card, I used paper from the Prima Nature Garden collection, plus a small strip of pink ribbon patterned paper for a splash of pink.

Sending a Flurry of Love

Hello! TGIF! It seems like just yesterday I was writing a post about the weekend, and here another one is upon us. First I have a card that I made for the latest MFT Guest Designer Contest using the MFTGUESTDT1012 sketch.

I started by stamping and coloring the sweet PI - Flurry of Love. I pieced her jacket and added some Platinum Stickles to the snowflakes. I used the Rounded Banner STAX to die cut my image, then I distressed the edges and cut the next size banner to mat her. For my bottom border, I used the Banner Strip Die, stamped "miss u" with the Typewriter Alphabet, and finally added some red rhinestones between each banner. I paired everything with some paper from the Basic Grey Aspen Frost collection and distressed the edges of my paper and cardstock. Finally, I tied a bow with some Kraft Grosgrain Ribbon and added a Natural Button with a bit of red twine tie through it.

Here's a look from another angle:

MFTWSC90: Wish Big

Hello! Happy Saturday and Happy 1st Day of Fall! I hope you're having a great weekend so far. Our evening temps have finally started to cool down, though we still have 100+ afternoons. I had a chance to play with the latest MFTWSC90 sketch today.

I used A la Modes - Big Birthday Wishes today. I loved all the layers in this sketch! Plus, I actually managed to stick pretty close to the sketch, though I did move the smaller panel where I added my sentiment. I stamped, colored and fussy cut her out then I popped her on top of my layout.

Hello! Happy Thursday! I hope you're having a great week! I have a card to show you that I made using the latest MFTWSC85 sketch.

My card uses the new Mouse in the House - It's Your Birthday. I paired her with some paper from My Mind's Eye - The Sweetest Thing Bluebell collection. In addition to using a few of the patterns from the 6x6 pad, I also used some coordinating decorative (washi) tape (the yellow airmail stripe) for the 2 strips behind my image.

My flower was made using the Die-namics Layered Rose (I die cut the 2 smallest sizes a few times and layered them). I added a pretty Kraft button in the center. Here's a detail shot:
