DAY TO DAY JULY CALENDAR | with Kathy

The new Day to Day calendar pages are not only a great way to organize and plan... they also are a fabulous way to document your month!  I opted to create  a scrapbook page layout featuring photos from last July using the Swimming Pool Calendar sheet and some Land that I Love Mini Icon Stickers.  Take a peek....

For my heading I used the new Day to Day Month stickers and numbers from the Sunshine Stickers.  The banners and balloons are from the Land that I Love Mini Icons.

We are big boaters and spend our summer weekends at our marina... so I had to add the cute boat stamped image from the Seaside Summer Doodle Stamps.  I picked some of my favorite photos from the month including this cutie... Parker is our neighbor at our marina.  He's such a good boy!   To create my little insta-photo pictures, I first cut my photos to be 1.5" square.  I then cut some petite prints 1.875" x 2.25" and added my photo leaving more room at the bottom to look like an instant photo.

In addition to the Land that I Love mini icons... I also used a few mini icons from the Bar B Cute Collection along with some grass washi.  The little picnic basket was perfect to document my daughter's birthday picnic in Central park!

I used some of the word stickers on the Land that I Love This and That Sticker sheet to label my photos... I love these words!!  Lastly I added one of my favorite characters... Steven Seagull from the Seaside Summer Stamp set. He just makes me smile!

This is such a fun way to keep up with your monthly scrapbooking!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

FAIRY GARDEN GRATITUDE JOURNAL SPREAD | with Nathalie

Spring is here! and it is time to start thinking about all those happy and colorful celebrations together with family.   And what better way to bring a touch of happiness and color to a project than with the Fairy Garden Collection.

This collection is one of my favorites, and perfect to document pictures of my littlest cousins -and the bond they are forming- in my gratitude journal.

I started by adding a piece of patterned paper to the bottom edge of my notebook.   I used the 6x6 paper pad from Lots of Love collection to build layers behind the photo.  I pulled a few floral pieces from the collection to create the cluster at the bottom corner of the photo.

For my title, I combined Chit Chat  and Odd & Ends Pieces from Fairy Garden and adding a few My Type alphas.  Those little banners were perfect for this page!

I used the half of the second page of my spread to add my journal lines.  I added a small cluster of embellishments to balance the rest of the page.  I just love how this turned out!

I cannot wait what you all create with all your Doodlebug Cuteness!  XO

LAND THAT I LOVE GOOD TO BE FREE LAYOUT | with Lisa

It's time to get out all of your blue, red and white stuff and have a fun 4th of July celebration!!! :) At least, if you're living in the United states, haha!  I live in Luxembourg, so of course, we don't celebrate 4th of July. We celebrated our National holiday on June 23rd tough and the colors of the Luxembourg flag are blue, red and white too, so I could pretty much use everything 4th of July themed here too... but, for this project I made a layout about freedom and how important it is to me to just feel free.

When I went through the Land that I love collection, the cute eagle Doodle-pop just really caught my eye and I wanted to paper-piece and hand-stitch it in a much bigger size, to be the star of my layout... :)  So I started by hand-drawing the eagle onto a white sheet of paper, cut out the different parts, traced around them on the cute patterned papers from the collection and then adhered everything together and stitched around, using different colors. Before I adhered the parts together tough, I created shadows with my Distress Oxides. For the eye of the eagle I used a big black Jewel.

For the background, I chose a white 12x12 sheet of paper and did some mixed media on it. I prepped the page with white gesso, let it dry and then used gelatos to get some color on there. Of course, I used red and different shades of blue and teal. When it was dry, I used the two cloud stamps, included in the stamp set from the collection, to stamp some little clouds on the upper part of the page. I used Distress Oxides to stamp and then used a small brush with water to go over all the stamped lines of the clouds and make them more blurry and faded and color them in a bit.

Then I cut out some clouds out of white paper, put some color around the edges and added them to the background. I also used three die-cut cloud pieces to add.  For my photo, I chose one that matched perfectly with the colors, since that day I was dressed in blue, red and white. Plus, we took that photo when we visited Provence, FRANCE, and I really felt good and... free! Free to do what I wanted, free to go where I wanted, just free and happy... the way I pretty much feel every day... haha :)  I matted the photo on four different patterned paper scraps and then I placed my eagle and photo on the layout to see how I wanted it to be. When I found a good placement, I adhered everything down, using foam tape for the eagle.

I went through the embellishments and chose some die-cut rosettes and stars, enamel dots, Jewels, cardstock stickers and alpha stickers to add to my page. I love how these last additions always make the page a lot cuter. I splattered silver paint all over and then I was done!

I hope you like the layout and are inspired to create a fun red, blue and white project. For all my friends, living in the USA, have a great 4th of July celebration!!! :)

See you soon,

LAND THAT I LOVE CANADA DAY LAYOUT | with Nathalie

Happy Canada Day to you all!  We are celebrating this week with The Land That I  Love collection, and  I had to create a page that reflect my beloved adopted home, Canada.

I focused on using all the red patterns in the collection to create a patriotic page.  I used the red tone papers to create origami maple leaves for my page (just like in the Canadian flag)

I created leaves of different size papers (4", 3",and2")for the background of the page. I place them so that they fan out on the background of a white 11"x11"cardstock.

Just a few gems and cardstock stickers is all I needed to embellish the page. The folds in the leaves already add interest to the page.

To finish the page, I created a title using Abigail Alpha stickers for my title, and adhere the photo of our baby on his first Canada Day celebration.   Just love how this turned out!

Thank you so much for visiting!

LAND THAT I LOVE PARTY KIT | with Miguel

Celebrating and being proud of the country where we were born and raised is something incredible!  So let´s talk about the project that I came up with for the beautiful Land That I Love Collection.  Here in Mexico,  where I was born and raised,  we celebrate our independence day on September 15th.  I closed my eyes and just imagined this project to celebrate that great day, but now in an American version!

I made a box with cardboard  in which I took great care of the measurements with the intention of matching the 2" x 2" cards that the collection includes for my cover.  The project is designed as a party kit to celebrate with family and friends.

Inside the box I included some party supplies like glasses, napkins, snacks and some super fun glasses!!! Everything is decorated for the celebration!

I love adding fun details to my projects.  My favorite part in this one is the how the mini jewels give the illusion of fireworks by adding some flash!

Goodbye for today, as always I hope I have inspired you to create something fun this coming July

LAND THAT I LOVE MINI ALBUM | with Ashley

Hi All! Today I am sharing a cute way to document your 4th of July memories! I used the Land That I Love Collection to make a mini album.

I started with heavy weight chipboard and lined that with the polka dot paper. Along the spine, I used sprinkles and mini jewels on each of the polka dots. Took a bit of time, but I love the end result! The front cover also has one of the doodle-pop images from the collection.

On the inside, I used a hinge binding. This allowed for 4 pocket pages, each with a card insert for extra space.

The first page, I used my cameo to cut out a series of stars that I backed with vellum and then adhered onto the page as a flip-up element.

Each of the inserts opens up as a card. I kept the page decorating minimal for a clean and sleek look even with all the bold colors.

I hope you liked seeing this project. Happy Crafting!

LAND THAT I LOVE BOX CARD | with Kathy

I love the 4th of July.  We usually get together with friends to celebrate and watch the fireworks on our boat.  It's always such a great time !  So of when I got a chance to play with some Land That I Love collection I thought it would be fun to create a fireworks card.  Take a peek...

For the base of my card I altered one of Lori Whitlock's Envelope Box Card Files.   I made the base from some of the Hip Hop Hooray and the graph side of the America the Beautiful papers. Then I started to work decorating it!

For the fireworks I combined stickers from both the Icon and Mini Icon sheets.  I love that they are different sizes!  The flags are from the Odds & Ends Pack.

And of course I had to have someone setting off the fireworks!  I love the little Sammy eagle DoodlePop... I thought he added the perfect amount of dimension and his little beak is adorable..  I have him holding one of the fireworks from the Firecrackers DoodlePops.  Yes, I used DoodlePops!  Usually I just like to hoard them!

For my sentiment I combined the July 4th from the Mini Icon Stickers and the happy sticker from the This and That Sheet.

Now if I remember to mail the card I'll be in good shape!  In celebration of the 4th of July, I'm having a fun Doodlebug Giveaway over on my Instagram account... @ekskou.  Head on over to enter to win a Land that I love prize!  If you've created any projects with Land that I Love, be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook and Instagram, we love to see what you make!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

LAND THAT I LOVE PATRIOTIC DÉCOR | with Wanda

Hey Doodlebug Friends! It's almost 4th of July, and time to decorate for your festivities! I love a good patriotic craft project and I'm here today to share what I made for this year's party - using the awesome Land That I love Paper Collection! Red, White and Blue never ever goes out of style. This project will translate to any party theme by changing which paper collection you use. These festive papers are so bright, and I adore the embellishments that come in this collection - especially that little eagle with the Uncle Sam hat!

These are called fans, rosettes, or medallions and they're super easy to make. I used a die to make mine but it's very easy to make with some simple tools - a paper cutter and a Scoring Board! I made five rosettes and the a garland to match.

10

For this rosette, I layered two rosettes! I glued them together with liquid glue and then embellished them with cardstock stickers and Doodle Pops. The Land That I Love stickers are perfect for this project! If you're doing these by hand start by cutting a 12x12 piece of paper into 4 6x6 squares. Use your Scoring Board and score and fold each square back and forth accordian style at 1/2 inch intervals. Once your smaller fans are folded, glue then together. I used eight pieces, or two 12x 12 papers for each one. To make them larger or smaller, simply cut off part of the pieces before gluing them together!

10

It's easy to be festive! Just decorate with your garland and rosettes, get some festive straws and plates at the craft store....and start celebrating!

10

Here is a close up of those gorgeous Land That I Love papers!

10

I used stickers and Odds & Ends to decorate the centers of the rosettes.

10

10

To make the garland, I used Doodlebug Chunky twine and glued the paper pieces from the Odds & Ends pack onto the twine. I added some mini jewels into the center of all of them for a bit of sparkle.

10

That's it for today! I am wishing you a happy 4th of July and a fun Summer season! See you back here real soon!
