SWEET & SPOOKY POP UP CARD | with Guest Designer Wanda Guess

Hi friends! It's Wanda Guess here! How have you been? I've missed being here with you on the Doodlebug Blog - and I'm so happy to be back as a guest designer! I love Halloween, and the only thing better than Halloween is....Doodlebug Halloween! I look forward to the new collection every Fall! Today, I'm sharing a project I made with the new Sweet and Spooky Collection. It's fantastic! I love how Doodlebug incorporated some aqua and pink in with all the other traditional Halloween colors. It's fresh and cute with just the right amount of spooky!

My card today is a pop up card! I made a little street scene for Halloween night - with trick or treaters, a haunted house, and some adorable ghosties! I used a die set that makes a pop up card - there are many on the market, or you can make your own too! I love that Doodlebug papers are double sided, so the front is just as cute as the back!! This card folds into an A2 envelope, and I used the awesome Cards and Envelopes Sweet and Spooky pack for the envelope.

DOODLEBUG BLOG 1

I assembled my card from 12x12 Spooky and Sweet paper using the aqua spiderwebs paper as a nice neutral background. I used lots of icon stickers and Odds & Ends die cut pieces to decorate everything! When I first started paper crafting it was a 'thing' to make cards entirely from stickers! And it's so easy with the gorgeous stickers from Doodlebug! I put the haunted house in the background and the cute trick or treaters.... And then I glued the ghosties to the top to make it look like they're flying around.

Those big cardstock stickers from the This & That Stickers are perfect for sentiments! I used the Happy Halloween banner sticker across the bottom of my card and decorated with a few shape sprinkles.

DOODLEBUG BLOG 3

I used the orange envelope from the Cards and Envelopes pack and decorated the front of it with matching stickers. I also splattered on a bit of black paint for good measure.

Here is the back of my card - again, the double sided papers make any project just that much cuter!!

LOTS OF LOVE VALENTINE CARDS | with Wanda

Hello my dear Doodlebug friends! Wanda here today to share some sweet Valentine cards I made with the fabulous Lots of Love Collection! This collection just makes me so happy! Valentine's Day is less than a month away now and Lots of Love has everything you need to make those heart themed cards and projects. I also need to announce that this will be my final post as a member of the Doodlebug Design Team! It's been a wonderful and lovely experience to create with you and for you over these past two years! So many projects and loads of happiness. THANK YOU DOODLEBUG! The owners of Doodlebug are absolutely the kindest and most generous people and it has been a joy to work with them! This design team is amazing and I have been honored to be a part of this team! Thank you for the love and support here as I've shared my love of crafting with you!! I have been a fan of Doodlebug for twenty years and I will continue to create with their fantastic products. You can always find me over on my blog if you want to say hello! Bless you! Now let's get to some cards!

I made two Valentine cards to share today. Both cards are A2 sized white card bases. I used the Lots of Love Collection papers, stickers, embellishments and ephemera to decorate some giant cupcakes. Because cupcakes are definitely sweet! I love the color palette of aqua, pink, dark pink and red. It's perfect!

20

I started with a die set that makes the giant cupcake (supplies listed at the bottom of my post) and I used 12x12 and 6x6 papers to die cut out the bottom and top of the cupcakes. I used kraft paper for the frosting portion. Then I went to town decorating the cupcakes with all kinds of smiling hearts and fruits! I die cut a white circle and attached some strawberries and a puffy heart onto it. I also added white gel pen accents and some mini jewels!

20

That little smiling cherry is SO cute!! I used the large 12x12 Lots of Love Sticker Sheet for the sentiments on both cards. I splattered on some white paint onto both cards also. I used patterned Doodlebug papers for the backgrounds of the cards.

He literally is the cherry on top! I think that adding white gel pen accents and little gems to the ephemera pieces just bring them to life! That little added touch. The cupcakes were attached to the cards using foam tape for a bit of dimension.

This reminds of of the happiest box of Valentine chocolates you could ever want!

DAY TO DAY JANUARY CALENDAR | with Wanda

Hi Doodlebug Friends! Happy Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season! It's time for a fresh start and a new year. I love to get organized in January, and do my planner and clean up my craft room. It's nice to get things in order and prepare for Winter after the holidays! I have been a planner and calendar fanatic since college.... Doodlebug has come up with gorgeous new things to help us personalize and pretty up our calendars and I'm here to share the new Day to Day Collection with you! Of course I made up a calendar for January and put it on my Clipart Board. It's so colorful and fun. I used the My Happy Place Collection for my stickers and embellishments. This is great as a calendar of course, but this could also the be the start of a great scrapbook layout. And it will slide right into your scrapbooks! The finished calendar sheet page is 12x12.

Here is my calendar on the Clipart Board ready to hang on the wall. Loving all those pretty colors!

To start off, I used the month stickers to put January across the top of the page. Then I used the clear calendar number stickers to place all the numbers on the dates. There was a space in the lower right corner of my calendar so I made a sweet little home scene with washi tape and stickers.

 Happy New Year!

I love the grid lines on the calendar sheet - makes it easy to place your stickers and write in your appointments...

I couldn't resist a sweet little sunshine Doodle Pop at the top of my board!

CANDY CANE LANE SHADOWBOX INSERT KIT | with Wanda

Hello my Doodlebug friends! Wanda here today to share another project with the super fun Candy Cane Lane Collection! Can you believe it's Christmas week? I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday! My shadow box I am sharing today is up on the shelf in my craft room to bring some cheer. But it would also be great in the entry way or any room that needs fun and joy! I used the new Candy Cane Lane Shadow Box Kit and the brown frame to put this together. If you haven't made a Doodlebug Shadow Box yet, I really recommend it! I guarantee you will have some fun crafting!

Here is my finished shadow box. I splattered on some white paint to make it look snowy and artsy! I used some stickers and embellishments to add a bit of extra interest to the bottom of the frame. I always like to add some matching decorations to my frame! It's hard to see, but I backed the vellum panel with blue snowflake 12x12 paper from the Candy Cane Lane Collection.

I just adore all the little houses in this kit!! I want to live in a pretty Christmas house! You can see that I also splattered white paint onto my finished panel. I used Diamond Stickles to add glittery accents to the rooftops and other areas.

So many pretty, sparkly gems in this kit - it makes it come alive and shimmer!

The color palette in this kit is just so cheery and sweet. I do love a pop of pink or aqua in with my Christmas colors! No one does it better than Doodlebug.

CANDY CANE LANE GIFT CARD MITTENS | with Wanda

Hi crafty friends! Happy Holiday Season to you all! Wanda here today to share a project made with the brand new Candy Cane Lane Collection! It's so holly jolly and cute and fun! Everything you could want in a winter paper collection... I was smiling the entire time I was making this project to share with you. I am always looking for cute handmade gift items to give out to friends, neighbors, and coworkers this time of year. I decided to make some paper mitten ornaments that hold a coffee gift card tucked inside. After the recipient takes out the gift card, they can hang the ornament on their tree! I will put the date and name on the back of each one too.

I started by using the gorgeous 12x12 papers from the Candy Cane Lane collection. I die cut out two mittens in each color and then glued them together back to back. I die cut two cuffs and did the same, being careful not to glue the top shut. I used the Gingham 6x6 paper pad to make the cuffs. I tucked a little bit of tissue down inside the mitten to make it puff out just a little.

I used silver brads on the cuffs and put some Chunky Twine through the brads to act as the ornament hanger part. Then the really fun part - decorating the mittens with stickers and ephemera! I tucked a bit of tissue, the coffee cards, and a small candy cane into the top opening. Super festive. I can't wait to give them away! I used an old mitten die that I've had for years. You could easily use a template from online, or an SVG file of a mitten. I thought this idea would also be cute with coffee mugs instead of mittens. I might try that!

Here are my three mittens...

I used lots of stickers (Icons) and gems and all the good things from the Candy Cane Lane Collection. If you look closely, can you see those super cool clear acetate snowflakes? Love them!

I adore this happy jolly snowman! He's holding his Christmas tree, and I added lots of rhinestone ornaments to it! I do love the sparkle!

FARMERS MARKET CARD TRIO | with Wanda

Hey hey hey! It's Wanda here, once again, using the fabulous Farmers Market Collection! Yippeeeeeee! Hey, guess what? I made some non-holiday cards! I thought it was time we could use some more birthday cards and just because cards, and this fun collection is perfect for it!! Today, I'm sharing a trio of fun and cheerful cards that I hope will make you smile!

All three cards are white A2 sized card bases. I used the awesome 12x12 text patterned paper as the background for all three cards also. I do love a good text pattern.... So I have two birthday cards and one just because card. Each card features a Doodle Pop as the focus, some mini doilies, and lots of color! Here is my trio....

20

Look at these delicious Doodle Pops!!! Three layers, four layers...oh my! These are just the happiest things ever!

20

I used basically the same card design/layout for each card. Either a stitched circle or a stitched rectangle, offset on the card... Then all the embellishments and doilies. Oh, and some paint splashes too. I really just went to town mixing and matching all these colors. Everything is from the same collection - Farmers Market.

20

20

The little Beehive Doodle Pop is a shaker! Bzzzzz. I added a couple of flowers and a heart to that sweet little hive. Oh, and some buzzin' bees too.

20

I used some Chit Chat sentiments along the bottom of each card and that just ups the cuteness factor. Everything is done for you! These cards come together easily and the combinations of elements is endless!

20

I will see you again right here soon! Until then, happy crafting!

FARMERS MARKET LAYERED WREATH CARD | with Wanda

Hi friends! Wanda here with a fun fall card made with the beautiful new Farmers Market Collection! OH, I love this collection! Such a fun mix of images and themes from flowers to vegetables and everything in between. It's just absolutely delightful! And I am loving all those warm colors, but with a pop of purple and magenta. I loved it from the moment it hit my desk! Perfect for Fall, but also I'll be using the veggie/market theme next Summer too!

My card today is a big square - 5.5" x 5.5" made from kraft cardstock. I got this idea from lots of beautiful scrapbook pages people make with this type of layout. Since I don't really scrapbook, I made a smaller version into a card. I die cut tons of leaves from both the Hello Fall Doodle Cuts and the Nesting Scallops Doodle Cuts. I used several different patterns of the 6x6 Farmers Market paper pad...

A

For the sentiment I used that big bold hello in dark brown woodgrain paper. I added the "fall" tag and a bit of Bon Bon Doodle twine.

B

I layered one layer of the magenta/red polka dot paper and distressed the edges of it. Then a white stitched layer to be my base for my wreath. Once I had all the leaved die cut out I arranged them all the way I wanted them and used foam squares to affix them to the card.

C

Up in the corner I added another small sentiment strip and some of the new Fall collection mini hearts. I splattered on pink and white ink splatters for that artsy feel.

D

That's it for me for today! Happy November everyone! I love November - you can celebrate Fall, Thanksgiving or Christmas!! No matter what, just enjoy the season. I'll see you soon. Happy Crafting!
