Calico Lane features...

The lovely Tam of Calico Lane has featured me in her first blog interview... isn't that so sweet of her?

Check it out here

Wedding Gawking

Check out this gorgeous website - Wedding Gawker. A Curiouser photo was featured on there the other day, which I am pretty happy about! They have a submission process for inspiring wedding-related images. I adore weddings and it is one of my favourite types of photography to do... I've kept it pretty low key since launching Curiouser but it is one item on my business-plan that I'll be reviewing at the end of the year. I was *almost* a part of this year's Portobello Bride Market but decided against it in the end. Maybe 2012 though :)

I found out about it through an article on problogger.net, there is so much interesting info on that website. I don't have enough time to read it regularly, but catch a good article by accident (via twitter or FB) every now and then. If you're interested in the marketing and technical aspects of blogging, it is an awesome resource!

How gorgeous is this?!

A huge thank you to everyone who has filled out my blog survey so far, if you haven't yet but would be willing to contribute your thoughts, please click the image below! It's relatively painless, I promise ;)

I finally did it... and a coupon for you :)

Well it's been on my to-do list for awhile, but I finally did it :) Last night I sent out - hang on

I totally just ran into the kitchen to rescue my coffee, which was bubbling over on the stove. It's all ok, everything's fine - with the exception of a coffee-stained cafetiere and stovetop - and I now have my coffee.

Anyhow, yes, last night I designed and created and eventually LAUNCHED the first ever Curiouser Newsletter! Yay! There is a special offer in there, workshop details, market dates (though I have more to book in yet) and - most importantly - a sign up form. Note: a couple of people have pointed out that the postcode field in the signup form was American, so I've just removed it for now :)

So my creative space yesterday was decidedly computer-oriented. But on Tuesday I had a fabulous time with a scrapbook page... you'll have to wait a couple of weeks to see that one ;)

Oh, yes, also the coupon. Redbubble sent out a coupon code for photographic prints and I thought I'd share the love! It expires on the 10th September, gives you 10% off photographic prints only, just enter the coupon code: REDPHOTO.

Thank you so much everyone who has filled out the survey so far, I really appreciate it and your answers are already helping clarify things in my mind, which is awesome!

Now I'm off to get kidlets to school, nappies, medicare and a new ventolin spacer for Mr-I've-Got-Another-Chest-Infection-Cedar, pick up some supplies to make book week costumes for the kids tomorrow and then head home to scrap. I hope. Have a great day :)

Ch-ch-changes

Well, actually, there may not be many changes, but equally there might be! You never know :) Doesn't that title just totally get that song in your head? It also reminds me of Shrek.

Anyhow, as mentioned yesterday, I have made up a survey to enlist you - who are reading my blog right now - to help me define the future direction of this blog! OK so it's anonymous, and you can answer all the questions or only one, it's completely up to you. I'd really appreciate your input, though, so thank you in advance for helping out. You'll find the survey here.

In the meantime, here is a sneak of my latest Aussie Scrap Source assignment, click over to the Aussie blog to see a close up as well as a few other artists' gorgeous Stampers Anonymous projects. I'm off to take Cedar to the Dr shortly to check out his wheezy cough. It seems to be that time of year!

Retrospect

With computer problems, camera issues (aargh!), an interstate visitor and a general sense of re-evaulation, I've been taking a mini-break from my blog. I'd love to get your input on my blog direction and will be back soon with a short anonymous survey. In the meantime, I thought I'd feature a blog post from almost 5 years ago. I kind of just started browsing randomly in the 2006 blog posts and had only read a few when I came across this. I'm in a similar frame of mind now. I don't change that much, it seems.

How about you - do you think your thought processes and feelings have changed a lot over time? Or are you still processing things in the same way, despite having learnt more about yourself?

December 2006

I have many things in my head. Many days I just want to stay home, do at home work like photo editing, scrapbooking and gardening. Other times I want to contribute to a more professional work environment, I trawl job sites looking for at least somewhat challenging part time positions, which don't tend to exist. I also want to promote Danielle Q sometimes. I do want that at the moment, but find it hard to follow through (it involves too much talking to people!).

But I love the photography and the thrill of editing good photos. So even though it is something I know I want to do, I still have to put pressure on myself to take action, to make things happen. It's an internal conflict between peace and quiet, and intellectual and creative satisfaction. In a way - as I have to go out of my comfort zone to make the intellectual and creative stuff happen.

Have I said lately that I think too much? LOL.
