I love Man-Thing, what a great pick Declan.
That's all the catching up I can do right now.
Thanks for looking!

WHAT IF?: MAN-THING & ROCKET RACCOON by tom fowler

when declan suggested man-thing for our theme a few weeks back it really lit a fire in my belly (ha!). if my previous go at the character could be considered the basis of a weirdo southern-gothic pitch, then this one can be considered my balls-out gerberian societal-horror story. nathan's amazing colours (thanks nathan) are the icing on the cake!

(...but for those who like undecorated cake here it is in black and white.)
but wait... is that the pitter-patter of tiny, otherworldly feets i hear?

hyup.

rocket raccoon has been a passion of mine for a great many years. i actually wrote about doing my own version of the book a few years back. as much as i love his resurgence in the core marvel universe (and i do LOVE it), i still think my version would work. and what is that version, you ask?:

simply, john carter with cute furry animals, stocked on a bookstore shelf next to bone.

(also, nathan and my deadpool team-up #888 is out today. go buy it.)

MAN-THING by Steve Bryant

Again, the last guy to post...

I couldn't miss a chance to draw Man-Thing, though! I love drawing swamps and trees and drippy Spanish Moss. And it's always fun to do some drybrush.

Kudos to Dec for the excellent pick (and have you picked up his work on Marvel's Thunderbolts yet? You should; it's awesome.).

MAN-THING by Mitch Gerads

I just knew I'd be the last guy to put my Man-Thing in the Twart...blog...

Ok, if you follow me on Twitter, you know that all week I've been LAYING on the MAN-THING jokes pretty THICK. I promise I'm done now that this week is over. Maybe. Probably...

THIS MAN-THING WAS REALLY HARD TO DO BUT I FINALLY GOT MY MAN-THING ON THE INTERNET!

In all seriousness, you should all be picking up Thunderbolts, especially now that our very own Declan Shalvey is on the title for the next couple issues! The first of which is on stands NOW!!

M!TCH

EDIT for the Process Junkies: Thought it might be fun to, again, show you the inks for comparison to final illustration!

MAN-THING by Chris Samnee

If you haven't already, be sure to head down to your local comic shop and pick up the first of two Thunderbolts issues by the Jeff Parker and fellow Twartist Declan Shalvey.

Issue #148 came out this past Wednesday (9-15-10) and is one helluva yarn.
Here's a preview of the first six pages to give you a bit of a taste.

If that's not enough to sell you, there's also a Newsarama interview with our boy Dec RIGHT HERE to push you over the edge.

Okay, enough plugging for one day. Let's get this blog back on track with some penis jokes. :) Mitch Gerads, I'm lookin' at you. ;P

MAN-THING by Ron Salas

Ron "Ted" Salas, that's me.

Took a break from pages to throw up this twart. I'll get a Dr. Who up there as well sometime soon.

MAN-THING by tom fowler

...insert giant sized penis joke here.

(just realized that was kind of a penis joke. there's really just no escape.)

MAN-THING by Declan Shalvey

Messed around with this sketch a little on Photoshop. Giving the original (below) away at Forbidden Planet, Dublin tomorrow during my signing of Thunderbolts #148. Hope my fellow Twartists don't mind the self-promotion, my pick just happened to coincide with my debut Marvel work. I'd be a fool NOT to do it...

Dec.

MAN-THING by Evan Shaner

When Dec told us his pick, I kept thinking of this cover from the old Man-Thing series where he's just mopping the floor with a group of pirates. This guy is a lot of fun to draw. Great pick, Declan! Everybody make sure to go check out Declan's work on Thunderbolts #148 today!

Also, since my pick is next week, I've hidden three clues as to who I'm picking in this piece. See if you can figure it out!

Great pick, Declan! :)

I am afraid I have to contribute just a quick sketch this week. As you know from the recent news, I am gonna be in a very busy period from now on, and the fact I just came back from my family visit in Italy is making this and next week even busier :P
If I can make some time I will bring this concept to the final stage, but until then hope you dig it as is :)

And now go buy Declan's awesome THUNDERBOLTS (out today) featuring the Man-Thing itself :)

Cheers,
Francesco
