Tuesday Treasures 3

Welcome to Tuesday Treasures where you can link your favourite piece of art, whether it be a card, altered item, in fact just anything that is special for you this week.

I had a great day with Lucy of True Colours, a couple of weeks ago. For those of you who know Lucy, she makes these amazing altered bags and she kindly not only showed me her ones (and they are fabulous IRL), but she gave me one to alter. So having completed most of it on the day, I brought it home and just finished off the stamping and added the trim.

So this is my Treasure for the week.

I won't tell you how it is made as Lucy is going to write an on-line class for it, so keep an eye on her blog for when she is ready to begin.

What is your 'Treasure' this week?
Why don't you link it below for fun so that others can come and visit you. I certainly will.

Have a great week and stay healthy.

Coffee and cream with a hint of chocolate

Hi Everyone - happy Sunday

I got this DT piece made by the skin of my teeth. This is for Fashionable Stamping Challenges who this week want to see anything that has a coffee and cream and even a hint of chocolate for a focus. Don't forget anything goes as long as you follow the challenge theme and include some stamping on it (sorry digis are not allowed).

My large stamps are both from the Inkadinkado Xmas Ornate clear set and the snowflake background I stamped using Reindeer Flight and Mini Holidays by Tim Holtz.

The large snowflake is a Woodware die-cut chipboard shape covered with distress stain and glitter and I added a star, flower, glintz, doiley and ribbon from my stash. I also used Nestabilities Labels Two for the greeting.

Want to know what the brown bag looked like before I altered it?

Hope you will come and join us at FSC and please go take a look at what the amazing Stampettes have made to inspire you.

I am on half term now, although I have to go into school on Monday and I am teaching a class at The Art of Craft on Wednesday. So Ken and I have booked into a nice hotel in Swanage for a long weekend from Thursday. I just feel I need it after the Ofsted inspection at school.

Take care and thank you for stopping by to take a look at my work today.

MAWTT challenge 71 - Sketch

Good morning everyone.

It's another fabulous challenge over at MAWTT today and this week it's a fabby sketch from Kelli. I have really enjoyed using this one and decided to get away from cards and made a little bag for some sweeties or a present at Christmas.

I am really pleased the way this turned out. The image is from Crafty Individuals and the paper is a freebie download.

Firstly I made the brown paper bag and found some tutorials on YouTube, I then stamped over the paper, made the snowflake using a punch and a Maya Road diecut, which was painted with white acrylic paint and walnut DI added and then I liberally used glitter and stickles over them. When it had all dried I just added a gem sticker to the middle.

The flap has been covered with TH scrollwork border, edged with walnut stain and then painted with snowtex and glitter added to it whilst it was still wet in place which produced the mottled effect which I really like. You will see edging with walnut stain and stickles on the papers and image.

The sponsor this week is Clare (who used to be a design team member here) she is offering a selection of peel-offs as the prize this week. She says -
"Hi, I'm Clare. I am the owner of Thread-bare (www.thread-bare.piczo.com). It is a small craft business that likes the personal touch. The products I like to use are the products I sell. I am a stockist of Pepper & Friends, Daisy & Dandelion, Forever Friends, Design House Papercrafts, The Crafthouse Press Ltd & many more. I also stock Cross Stitch & Pinflair kits. I love making handmade cards & gifts too & I sell these in my Ebid & Folksy stores. I am currently constructing a brand new website at the moment & we hope to launch this in the new year."
