Rose Elinor Dougall - who has been thriving since dropping off the end of The Pipettes - is squeezing in a couple of dates before Christmas:

And, as you ponder if it's worth taking Merseyrail to its wildest reaches, here's what you could expect:
Rose Dougall - who was in the Pipettes up until April - is now busily launching her post-polkadot-phase band. She's gone solo, and her first single, Another Version Of Pop Song, is out at the start of December.
Meanwhile, though, you can sample what she's got to offer with a couple of live appearances:
8th October - Old Queen's Head, London
13th October - Brudinell Workings Men Club, Leeds (with British Sea Power)
Or just drift by her MySpace.
The Pipettes barely made it out alive (okay, had to cut short their set) in Boston last night when a monitor burst into flames. It was a charity gig, apparently. If only something half as interesting happens during the Woganthon tomorrow night...

The Pipettes have lined up a US and Canada tour, with only the merest hint that they might be able to capitalise on a Spector-trial influenced fascination with girl bands.

Obviously, the Austin dates are all part of SXSW, and somewhat disappointingly it doesn't look as if you can actually get food at the Flamingo Cantina. We wonder, just what is the best place for Mexican food in Austin?
