Downloadable: Michael Franti drops small hint about the inauguration

Michael Franti has apparently missed the memo that we're all supposed to be really disappointed by Obama. Like, he was elected weeks ago and hasn't even bothered to move in to the White House yet - what's he waiting for? An invitation from the President?

Franti, though, is still buoyed by optimism, and has channeled it into a free mp3, the Obama song. Can we download it via the Facebook iLike plug in? Yes, we can.

AT&T won't be bidding on the web rights

Michael Franti's annual Power To The Peaceful Festival is starting to take shape right now: 8th September in San Francisco, featuring Franti, DJ Spoony, the Indigo Girls, K'Naan and, as they say "more", along with political speakers, beautiful agitators and the understandably indignant.

The first gig in prison is always the hardest/ the first gig in prison, the hallways are darkest

Michael Franti is going to follow in the footsteps of Johnny Cash and, erm, Metallica by playing San Quentin. The gig's later this month, which doesn't leave you very long to commit a crime and get thrown into jail before the event.
