PhotoHunt -RED

The PhotoHunt for today is Red ~
Of course, I picked the colors of the Italian flag . . . Red, White and Green.

In the colors of a Caprese Salad.

This is To.Die.For.
The little tomatoes are so sweet, the buffalo mozzarella is fresh from the buffalo cattle that are living just over the mountain, and the basil that is so fresh and peppery.
A bit of fresh olive oil (and of course a glass of Marisa Cuomo)

I am HaPPy!

Eat them whole or Dice 'em up . . .

Which is always fun in a cooking class ~

Traveling Tuesday ~ Casa e Bottega

Y'all know how much I love Positano.

I am going to share some of my secrets ~ Casa e Bottega is one. Tanina is the owner, and it feels like you are sitting in her kitchen.

This is one of my favorite spots

This Fabulous gluten free chocolate torte is calling my name ~
They also offer fresh salads and smoothies... not common in a coastal Italian village.

It is a great place to look back over the village of Positano.

Is it a shop or a cafe?

It is a bit of Both ~ This is the Casa e Bottega FaceBook page
If you can't be sitting there, you can at least enjoy the action virtually.

Isn't that what Traveling Tuesdays are all about?

Happy St. Patricks Day!

McGuire's Irish Pub in Pensacola will be hoppin' tonight.

Traveling... in my mind!

I haven't posted a Travel Tuesday in a while . . . life is to busy to even think of traveling.
All the more reason to post a photo of our evening at al Barilotto del Nonno
This is a family style restaurant above the village of Positano.

The views of the Amalfi coast are amazing. The food is simple and perfection . . . Maybe some fresh calimari? And a glass of vino of course!
It helps when the owner Giovanni will sing a song or two for friends ~
Ahhh ~ Italy.

PhotoHunt ~ Ripple

The PhotoHunt for today is 'Ripple'

I would love a bushwacker from the FloraBama ~ with a little ripple and a cherry on top.

If you have never been there. . . it is a beach classic, right on the Florida/Alabama line. They did do a little renovating after the last Hurricaine blew it away ~ but you would never know.

The Newest Bestest Restaurant in Orange Beach ~ Fisher's

This is a post that is long overdue ~
Last time we were at the beach I promised a blog post on the newest BEST restaurant in Orange Beach.
This is Fisher's at Orange Beach Marina (go ahead and 'LIKE' their facebook page) This is the creation of Johnny Fisher, who started The Gulf, and moved on to bigger and better things. He brought together the 'dream team' and created a magical place.

The decor is sophisticated chic and bling, with a layer of beachy comfort ~ It is at the Orange Beach Marina.
Every detail is made with attention to style and to comfort. The atmosphere is a beautiful accent to their food.
The food is absolutely Amazing. . . When we were there we had a tasting menu of all the best things on the menu. It was a night I will remember forever! We sat outside overlooking the marina in the Gulf Coast sunset. I won't bore you with photos of every plate we had (Just a few)

This is tasting dish is Fresh Crab Claws Marinated in a Citrus Sherry Vinaigrette and a Bon Secour Oyster Roasted with Leek Butter
Crawfish Beignet with a Pickled Jalapeno Aioli and a Seared Crab Cake with Remolaude and Housemade Pancetta Corn Relish.
Their Tiramisu is made with CornBread Cake and hand rolled Chocolate Straws. . . You can see that Brandi the Pastry Chef paid very close attention to this dish and took photos with her phone.
We know this place is special . . .  because we know the Sous Chef in the kitchen. This is a momma's proud face!
Next time you are on the Gulf Coast ~ make sure you make reservations at Fishers or stop in at Fisher's Dockside.

Y'all enjoy~

I could have posted photo's of us at Mardi-Gras ~ putting our 'swank' on . . .
Instead, I think I'll share a swanky pub in Brighton . . .
'The Riddle and Fin'
It is beautifully casual ~ SWANKY for sure.

and a great place to get champagne and oysters. . .
Isn't that what everyone eats when they take a day trip from London to Brighton Beach?

Traveling ~ and eating at Fisher's

A Quick Trip virtually back to the beach.
This is a new restaurant in Orange Beach that promises to be the hottest thing on the Gulf Coast ~ Fisher's

It is a bright spot at the Orange Beach Marina.
The decor is bright and fresh. The food is fresh and mostly local seafood. They have their own herb garden for fresh basil and mint. (which I have from a inside kitchen source)
It's where all the cute young chicks hang out . . .
. . . and I can't wait to go back!

Update ~~~ it happens that I am NOW related to the newest Chef at Fishers. I'll be going back again, and again.

Traveling to 'The Gulf'

I mentioned that we were spending the 4th on the gulf with family.

and of course while on the gulf . . . we have to go to The Gulf . It is a great restaurant that I have posted on before. We love the beachy atmosphere.

It was the perfect day for chillin' under the umbrella's

and of course, posing for a family photo (minus one who was still working)

There was a lot of chasing little miss Hope

and more precious memories at the beach.
Isn't that what holidays are all about?
The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays.
