PhotoHunt ~Elegant

The PhotoHunt for today is 'Elegant' . . .
That doesn't describe me.

But, it did make me think of this Elegant hotel in Positano. If I had the $$$, this is where I'd stay. (It would probably cost my entire Italy budget)
The Hotel Palazzo Murat is the Perfect location on the entire Amalfi Coast. The pool appears to be flowing right into the church, and the beach below that. The entrance to the gardens is off the covered walkway into town.
Beautiful sculptures that are found in the garden are by the local artist Paolo Sandulli. He is known for these terra cotta busts . . . these hold a variety of plants and flowers.
His work is all very clever, with a whimsical look.
Of course in the gardens of the Palazzo they are simply Elegant.

PhotoHunt ~Lavender

The PhotoHunt for today is Lavender
My first thought was to post my recipe for Lavender Ice Cream (but if you click on that link you can find it) It was yummy. . . in fact, I need to make it again.

I have some great pictures of lavender ~

The day we went to the Villa Cimbrone in Ravello, the wisteria was crazy.

Lavender blossoms everywhere ~

It was So Beautiful . . .
You know a southern girl always has a thing for wisteria.

It was growing on walls that date back to the 11th century. The trunks were massive.

AmaZing.

PhotoHunt ~ HoP

The PhotoHunt for today is 'HoP' ~
There is one way to get around quickly in Positano . . .

HoP on a scooter and hold on ~

I love to see all the scooters ~
It is a part of the charm of the Amalfi Coast

Not that you will find me Hopping on ~ it is a bit risky for me.

PhotoHunt ~ Touch

The PhotoHunt for today is 'Touch'
I thought of the Lemon groves above Amalfi.

This is such a special place ~ I was touched when we were able to meet Salvatore's PaPa. In his 80's and still working on his vines. The same vines that his grandfather had planted.

Touched to see and smell the lemons growing on the hand made trellises.

Such a Fabulous place!

I don't think I will ever smell lemons in the same way again.

PhotoHunt -RED

The PhotoHunt for today is Red ~
Of course, I picked the colors of the Italian flag . . . Red, White and Green.

In the colors of a Caprese Salad.

This is To.Die.For.
The little tomatoes are so sweet, the buffalo mozzarella is fresh from the buffalo cattle that are living just over the mountain, and the basil that is so fresh and peppery.
A bit of fresh olive oil (and of course a glass of Marisa Cuomo)

I am HaPPy!

Eat them whole or Dice 'em up . . .

Which is always fun in a cooking class ~

Amalfi Lemon Tour

For my Traveling Tuesday ~ I am headed back to the lemon groves on the Amalfi Coast.

This time we went to visit our friend Salvatore Aceto, his family has owned this lemon grove outside of the town of Amalfi for generations. It was a thrill to meet his 80+ year old father, who still works in the lemon groves.

This family is So special. They are working hard to promote the idea of organic farming and have the MoSt Fantastic lemons.

We were able to wander through the terraces of lemons, some trees are hundreds of years old.

After climbing the hills. . . no complaining ~ we weren't required to carry the heavy baskets of Lemons. We were treated to a pitcher of REAL lemonade and lemon cake . . . the views were spectacular.

Everywhere you looked, the lemons were waiting to be hand picked.

Lemons that were so sweet, you could eat the whole thing ~ peel and all.

I could have just stayed right here ~ But they were harvesting the very next week. That sounded to much like work to me.

Instead. . . we happily took the ferry back to Positano.

PhotoHunt ~ FiX

The PhotoHunt for today is 'FiX'

As we say in the South ~ "I am fixin' to take a little trip" . . . back to Positano.

A view like this will Fix just about anything

Don't think that a little vino and some mussels won't be a part of the fix. . .

Just imagine sitting right here with me ~ that would fix any problems
(what problems???)

Traveling Tuesday ~ Casa e Bottega

Y'all know how much I love Positano.

I am going to share some of my secrets ~ Casa e Bottega is one. Tanina is the owner, and it feels like you are sitting in her kitchen.

This is one of my favorite spots

This Fabulous gluten free chocolate torte is calling my name ~
They also offer fresh salads and smoothies... not common in a coastal Italian village.

It is a great place to look back over the village of Positano.

Is it a shop or a cafe?

It is a bit of Both ~ This is the Casa e Bottega FaceBook page
If you can't be sitting there, you can at least enjoy the action virtually.

Isn't that what Traveling Tuesdays are all about?

Y'all enjoy the ride~
