2014 Highlights

2014. Where have you gone?! Here is our year in review. It was a busy year full of adventures. Here are our top 35 events (52 pictures). I promise I was selective.

1. First family photo of 2014.

2. Many a man night. As we got closer to the move, the men started going David's due to the fact that we no longer had a table. It was the end of an era. I really miss having the men over and all of the fun evenings spent together.

3. The happiest little man you will ever see! I love those bright blue eyes and that old man sweater. This is one of my favorite pictures of Manfred.

3. Duke's first Valentines Day.

4. E's 2nd birthday. Elmo themed of course. This girl was all things Elmo and Sesame Street.

5. Our little Leprechaun on his first St. Patty's Day

 6. Oma and Opa came to visit our Vegas home for the last time.

7. The Tobler boys had their first annual brother reunion in Oklahoma in April. The boys had a great time!

8. Awesome Mommy Moment of the Year: E sticking a craisin up her nose Easter morning in Sacrament. It was quiet the fiasco in the back seat of the chapel. The bishop was even texting us to make sure she was okay. Thank heavens we got it out without any issues. E still isn't allowed to eat craisin's unsupervised.

It was also Duke's first Easter.

 9. Jakob and I took our first overnight trip away from the kids and headed up to Provo for our friend Kayla's wedding. We were able to go to the St. George temple which was awesome. Once the kids are a bit older I want to try and see how many temples we can go through. I just love them.

10. We went to the Neon Museum which was fabulous.

11. We moved out of our apartment which was really hard for me. That was the home that I brought both of my babies home in and it held a lot of memories for me. It was a good home. Jakob then left for Dallas to do a 6 week internship.

12. The kids and I moved into Mom and Dad Toblers for the 6 weeks while Jakob was in Dallas and we had a lot of fun!

13. The kids and I then went up to Canada to visit my family. It was Duke's first Canada Day. I was so glad that we were able to spend it in Canada!

14. Even though we were in Canada for the Fourth of July I made sure that we celebrated. Our little American boy was sure cute!

15. Duke also got to meet Opa Manfred Zapf who he was named after. I was so glad that we got to spend time with Oma and Opa. I love them more than words!

The family in Canada.

Duke also got to meet his Great-Grandpa Heyden for the first time. They had an instant bond.

16. We headed back to Vegas and spent a few more weeks having fun. One of the favorite activities was picking apricots...

... and swimming in the pool. E would usually forgo the swimming suit.

17. Duke Manfred turned one. We had a Construction themed birthday.

Duke and Uncle Duke (the friend that he was named after.)

 18. My final ladies night with some of the best friend that I could have ever asked for!

19. We moved across the country to Nashville TN. Jakob is going to school at Vanderbilt to get his MSF.

 20. Mom Tobler moved across the country with us to help with the kids! Such a blessing having her on the flight and to help me unpack!

 21. Three days after we arrived in Nashville I left Jakob, Mom and the kids and hopped back on a plane and flew into Salt Lake to be in my cousins wedding. She was such a beautiful bride and I was honored to be a part of her big day.

22. Mom Tobler flew out and Mama van den Berge and I flew in. Mama stayed for a few weeks. It was so nice having an extra set of hands. It was a bit weird once she left learning how to be a Mom again. I hadn't been alone with my kids from June- August. It was an adjustment but it was nice to find our own routine again.

 23. Jakob bought a scooter.

24. We went to a concert and saw several artists including Sam Hunt, Trace Adkins, and Carrie Underwood! It was wonderful!

25. We took a lot of pictures!

26. Duke started doing this nose scrunchie thing and it melted my heart every time!

27. E and I made a ton of crafts, one of her favorites though was the paper dresses.

28. We went to the pumpkin patch!

29. Halloween. It was Jakob's year to pick our costumes and he went with ninja turtles. We were pretty lame this year but I still liked the final result. We also attended our first ever trunk or treat.

E was so exctied about seeing all of the little girls in Elsa dresses at the trunk or treat that we decided to over night ship in an Elsa dress. She was so beyond excited and she hasn't hardly taken it off since.

I made the boys matching bow ties. They looked super cute but Jakob wouldn't wear his.

E was super stoked to carve an Elsa pumpkin. She helped a little bit but wanted nothing to do with touching the guts.

 30. We took some fall photos of the kids! They loved the leaves!

31. Mom Tobler flew in and we then drove to NC to visit the Kyle Tobler family for Thanksgiving! We had a great time!

32. The kids and I then flew back to Vegas with Mom Tobler and stayed for the month of December. Jakob joined us December 19th and we had a wonderful Christmas back home!

33. We got to spend some time with our amazing friends! So miss you all like crazy! Thanks for coming out to see us!

34. My favorite Christmas picture of the season. :)

35. Family Santa photo 2014.

2014 was good to us! I can't believe that it all gone but I am so excited to see what 2015 holds. Here is to a year of excitement, adventure, love, family, and laughter!!!
