Baby Clothes!

I've just finished a shop update with lots of new vintage goodies! Here are a few of the sweet baby things now available:

Vintage Love

I was pretty stoked to find this awesome chevron dress recently! I love the pastels and it goes so well with my new flats and head scarf. But, alas- it doth not fit :( So somebody else will get to enjoy it :)

Boho Princess

Beatrice loves playing dress up. Most often it's in James' and my clothes and heels, but sometimes she consents to wearing her own things for a change. And she looks darn cute too!

Everything was thrifted except the camera necklace which is thanks to The Anchor and the Bird.

I Won and What-Not

It happened a few days ago, but I'm just now getting around to blogging about it. I won the Paraders giveaway over at The Dainty Squid! So I am living proof that it is totally worth it to take the time and actually enter all those giveaways. There are so many great ones and I must enter 5-10 every week. It pays off eventually. AND I won another giveaway last week from The Anchor and the Bird and wore the skirt and necklace today! (the cardi will have to wait until this weather lets up)

This week is VBS at church, our AC went out then Jake and Lucy's AC went out, family stuff has been going on and I'm getting ready for the start of school... But it's kinda a good thing when life gets in the way of blogging. Kinda :)

It is so hard to be a baby!

Ebay, with a little help from my friends

I'm selling on ebay (or I'm in the process of getting set up)! Etsy defines vintage as pre-1991, so now that I have a collection of amazing 1990s fashion (thanks to Max) I am using ebay. Emma is a fantastic model for these particular items and we really had a blast today getting fun shots (using James' new camera) of things she would actually wear!

Beach Trip

James and I took the kids to the beach over the weekend. We stayed in a cheap motel and packed food from home. We went thrifting. We wore sunscreen and it worked for once! We got more sleep than we expected. We got to see friends. All in all, it was a great little vacation!

I wore my lovely yellow 1960s swimsuit and got a lot of stares... I think I was the only lady not wearing a bikini. Some old dudes even honked at me, baby on my hip and all!

Ad Design

For the month of August, I will be promoting my etsy shop on Smile and Wave. I love reading Rachel's blog because her family is so darn cute and she is a pretty amazing woman. (Did you read the post about when she and her now-husband were dating and got separate hotel rooms? I cried.) She has a post series called Vintage Here, Vintage There in which she and her daughter wear decades-old treasures. And if you look closely in the next few month, you are sure to see some tiny yellow bird goodness. :)

SOOOOOO, here are some of the ads I've come up with so far. I hope you will give me your input!!

Maybe this sort of thing is meant to be private (I've never seen anyone else revealing draft ad designs), but I am interested in your opinion. Even if you just want me to go back to the drawing board -which I'm going to do anyway because 5 is not enough to choose from.

Anyway, I have a favorite. Can you guess which it is??

HOT

Our air conditioner's compressor broke.

They have to order a new one.

There are no words to describe the suffering.

What's In My Purse

I'm in love with this new (to me) clutch that I found thrifting! Luckily, all my little essentials fit snugly inside. The orange-coral-peach color is pretty much perfect, too :)

Starting the day off right...

Thanks God for morning naps!! Especially the ones that are more than just a pipe dream...

Today, I got to work on my painting. I'm not showing it to James until it is done. I think I'll do it this way from now on. As soon as James sees a painting, I start trying to get a reaction from him. Not asking so much as just trying to read him and see if he really hates it and doesn't want to tell me. Then I start looking for flaws in my work-- totally unhealthy and terrible for the creative process! So this time once he sees it, I will have washed my hands of it and it won't matter what I think he thinks.

The funny thing is, I don't think it would matter to him how awful my paintings look as long as I'm painting. He just loves when I paint (or draw, or make anything!)

Ambrose at 9 Months

My little boy is already so big! He is cruising and crawling. He loves bath time and playing with his big sis. What a good, happy, content nature this little guy has. He always has a smile or a song! He gets more cuddles than any other 9 month old in the world I'm sure. But that's not enough. He needs more! He loves to cuddle and he loves his family. When his daddy comes home, Amby gets so excited that he screams! He sleeps pretty well through the night, eats finger foods, chews on everything, loves music and dances on command!

Vintage Out-Takes

James and I have a number of really lovely items we'll be adding to the shop soon. Yes, we are doing this together now. Everything is more fun when you do it with someone you love! Here are some out-takes you can see to kind of preview the good stuff to come. This is just a tiny taste ;)

Isobel will be coming over tomorrow and we'll shoot some more. Oh, there's just so much!
