Etsy

Boy, I've added a ton of fresh stuff to my shop. There's a range of different sizes even though there's mostly just my own body modeling. Don't let the pictures fool you, look at the measurements in the listing.

Heads up, I'm planning a new name and look for my etsy shop. Excited!

Crazy

I'm feeling a little crazy. Check out my etsy shop and buy something with the coupon code CRAZY for 50% off. I'll keep this code active until tomorrow (Thursday, Nov. 21) at midnight.

Dormant

That's what my etsy shop has been lately. I haven't been adding that much to it, just saving it all up. I have so many treasures. Eccentric, wonderful treasures. But they will be up soon. Oh, so soon. Here is a black and white preview of some of the pieces I'll be adding.

And I haven't decided yet if I'll let the following one go. So many times, I sold and regretted. I hate regrets. (examples 1 & 2)

Wardrobe

I'm totally obsessed (this is not in any way true, I just like it is all) with this etsy shop! The clothes are amazing and I've always wanted to dress like an extra in a Hayao Miyazaki film. I would wear almost anything in this shop, but only stuff in more or less gray scale. Better yet, I shall make myself some new baggy, frumpy clothes. And in fact, I made myself one of these skirts the other day when I found the shop. So there.

Am I crazy or is this awesome?

Also, as a minor note, today is my birthday. :)

Sister Date

My baby sister (14) came over today. Mama watched the kids for a couple hours this morning so we could take some pictures for my etsy shop. I had a lot of fun hanging out with Emma who was still practically a baby when I went off to college. We didn't exactly grow up together. There are 6 siblings between us in age.

Emma is beautiful and a natural in front of the camera. And she is exactly my size except not the same height. I pretty much source clothes for my shop that I can model myself, so this works nicely. It takes forever if I take pictures of myself because camera remotes never last more than a few uses apparently and the only camera shop around closed down. This sister date will give my shop a much needed inventory boost!

We had a lot of fun and afterwards had a good lunch.

How about that family resemblance, right?!

Out Takes

Yesterday, Miss Beatrice played model for me. We got through about 10 garments in under half an hour, a feat made possible by James pressing play and Am drinking an unlimited amount of raw milk.

All these little looks will be up in the shop soon, along with lots more. These are just some out-takes. The ones we really use won't be so blurry.

It's neat to be able to look back at earlier modeling pictures of this girl and see how she's turning into such a kid. As opposed to a baby. Those cheeks are slimming already!

Etsyin'

When I pack up the week's orders, I like to pretend they are presents for my sisters. They have to look pretty and fun. I use white tissue and white ribbons. And now these business cards and matching stickers help pull the look together. (from here)

Want a pretty package? Order from my shop! :P

Shirt For Sale, Brown, etc.

I wish all my outfits looked like this: a clash of colors and patterns, fitting right, with eye make-up and a hair do to boot. Instead, most days are all about pj pants and whatever top is clean.

More and More

I've spent all week working on my etsy store, adding new pieces every day. Oh, how I wish I had had the camera remote at the beginning of my break instead of just this final week of it! I have to go to work in a little while, but I'll have more to put up later tonight or tomorrow. For now, check out this sweet pink and white gingham blouse.

In other news, I had lots of fun with two lovely ladies yesterday and I wish we could just hang out all the time. Christi and I played dress up and made silly faces. Beth and I watched Marina and the Diamonds videos and talked and talked. But I am looking forward to going back to school. I am the president of the art club, so I oughta be excited, right!? Bring it!

Ka-Chow!

I've spent the last couple days working hard on my etsy shop. Y'all, this is hard work. It may look like a lot of fun and acting silly, but it is a lot of work, too!

Seeing a pile of awesome vintage clothes should be exciting, but to me it is daunting. Styling, photographs, editing, measurements, descriptions, listing fees. All that and then a little breather before packaging up (which just has to be pretty), shipping, customs forms, more fees, etc.

But all that aside, this part is fun.

Taking the pictures used to be the most daunting of all, but I got this cheap little wireless remote for the camera and, viola! Fun! What used to take hours, now takes minutes. Sheesh, Lily, get with the program sooner next time, ya?

Four Ways to Wear :: Turkish Delight

Disclaimer: This post has nothing to do with food, dessert, Narnia or books.

Instead, it has to do with a dress. A versatile, double layer dress. I found it at a thrift store and was so excited, I may have dropped my child. It is made out of 100% non-natural material, quilted and hand-washable only. The colors are what some might call noisy and the patterns add to the clamor. So what?

Here's how one can wear such a garment:

1. This is how the dress and overdress look together, as intended by the manufacturer.

2. I tucked in the bodice of the underdress and wore it as a skirt with a t-shirt and belt. Add some rolled down (pre-Nike) Converse for attitude.

3. The overdress can be worn with pants under for an exotic, dare-I-say Turkish look. Delightful.

4. This is how the underdress looks on its own. Lovely collar. Simple yet fancy.

The Home Stretch

I'm almost done with the semester! Lots of projects going on and lots of time spent at school. Forgetting to eat, losing my gloves and keys, getting screen-time headaches, not enough sleep. You know, college.

But it's a week and a half. That's all.

But in the midst of it, I found time when the kids were awake the other day (I can't do school when they are awake) to take some photos of new stuff for my etsy shop. I love this little romper so much! When I'm on holiday break, I will be adding this and much more to le shoppe.

Got any tips for keeping one's sanity during exam week?

Pumpkin Time

My favorite overalls are for sale over in my etsy shop. Don't be fooled by this picture. They are not gray. They are orange. A pleasant sort of pumpkin or tangerine orange.

New In Shop

I got this dress for keepsies, not to sell. But when am I ever going to wear an amazingly sexy, minty refreshing 1970s maxi halter gown? Even if the sheer cape makes it no less than perfect, I can't very well wear it to school or waiting tables. So I am putting it out there for someone who might get more use out of it. :)

For what occasion would you wear this look?

Etsy Photography

I really need to just get a dress form and be done with it. This takes too long. Here's what I do:

-Set up the camera on a side table with a few books to prop it just right.
-Take a bunch of pictures of the vacuum to get a good focus and check the lighting.
-Set the timer and press play.
-Run over and move the vacuum and get in position.
-Hold still and wait for the click.

Sometimes the pictures come out ok. Sometimes not so much.
