A Star Finish

I loved how this Do.Good Stitches quilt turned out.  I love to see everyone's blocks come together to make something beautiful.

Two finishes

I like to have something to hand sew while I watch Conference, so I was able to finish 2 quilts this weekend.

I'm just realizing I forgot to put the do. Good Stitches patch on the back of the second quilt, so I'm going to need to hand stitch that on before I donate it to Project Linus.

A Couple More

This week I pieced together another baby quilt top, and one of the do. Good Stitches quilt tops. I may have gone slightly too wonky on my wonky stars, but I still like it.

A Quilt Finish

A friend of mine, who's oldest son is also my student, is having a baby girl!  I always enough a good start quilt.  I made it a little big and I really like it how it turned out.  I added stars into my loopy quilting for some added stariness. I wanted it to be bright and cheerful, and I think I succeeded.

Next!

'Tis the month of baby quilts.  Something must be in the water.  I finished up this star quilt top and now the cats think it belongs to them.

Baby Boy Scrappy Quilt

My cousin had a baby boy this past week, so I'm mailing off this quilt to her.  He's her first.

Little Guy has his own way of modeling quilts.

Mini squares

The small squares of fabric in these blocks are time consuming, but it's always fun using scraps, and making something bigger out of them.  Stella thought she was being helpful, but she mostly just sat on the scraps.

do.Good Stitches

With kiddos back in school, it was time to bring the sewing machine back out.  July blocks were mini sailboats.  The only requirements were to make sure the water part were blue.  The rest was what we wanted.

August blocks are Irish chains.  The chain is supposed to be bright with the background a less with a lot of contrast.

They're off in the mail.

Heart Blocks

I got my March and April blocks done the very last week of April for do.Good Stitches.  We won't mention that they barely went in the mail yesterday.  I really enjoyed these blocks.  They were a fun scrap buster.

A Pinwheel Finish

I finished up this quilt during Conference weekend, but it took a while to actually take pictures of it.  It's being donated to Children's Mercy.

Pinwheels

Spring is the perfect time for pinwheels and flowers.  I put together this quilt top from the do.Good Stitches ladies.  These are the blocks they sent.

Another Nephew!

Daniel and Summer welcomed a baby boy last week.  They waited to find out the gender until birth, so I went right to work afterward making Baby Henry's quilt.  This time around I went with dragonflies.

do.Good Stitches

January and February blocks are scrappy wonky blocks.  2 were with brights and 2 with neutral colors and a pop of orange or green.  You know I love a good scrappy block, so this was a great fit for me.

I Spy

My November blocks ended up being super simple and quick.  If I had looked at it earlier I would known I could complete it quickly and get it off my list, but I procrastinated.  It was just 2 "I Spy" blocks meant to fussy cut with interesting things to look at.

All 3 months worth of blocks are now in the mail and December is our off month, so I'll be back at it with do.Good Stitches in the new year.

Do.Good Stitches

Miracle of Miracles I finished September and October blocks before the end of October.  Sadly, I haven't actually mailed them yet, but I'm thinking of completing the November blocks before mailing everything.

A Fishie Finish

I listen better when my hands are busy, so I try to have a quilt I can hand bind during General Conference.  This one went quickly.  I love the fishes!

Fishies

I finally got my act together and pieced together the fish quilt top from last year's do.Good Stitches.  Later is better than never.  It was fun randomly deciding placement and background shades of blue.

An Embarrassingly Late Finish

I put this quilt top together months ago.  It sat for quite a while like that, but I was motivated to get it ready for hand binding during General Conference in April.  I like to have something to do with my hands while I watch.  I'm not good at just sitting.  I hand sewed about 85% of the quilt during conference and then it sat on my desk that way until this week.  Oops.

Little Lady wanted to watch another Jane Austen movie.  She chose Emma.  I ran upstairs and grabbed the quilt.  (Can you tell I don't watch TV very much?). Twenty minutes later I had a finished quilt.  It's ridiculous it took me so long, but it is now complete!
