Arts Night

 Little Guy had his Arts night at school tonight.  He was excited to show off his work.

The Older Kiddos

 Little Man ran EKL last week.  He was disappointed with his time, but he qualified to run Regionals.  I also got to meet "the girl."  Have I mentioned that I don't love the dating phase of teens?

He wanted to go out to get breakfast and watch a Spiderman movie with Dad for his date this month.  Little Lady and I went to see the Vienna Light Orchestra.  She was in heaven with all of the Greatest Showman music.  She sang along to every single song. 

Two of the Cutest Fish in the Sea

 BB and Little Lady performed this week in their middle school musical Finding Nemo, Jr.  BB was an adorable Nemo and Little Lady was the cool Gill.  I loved that they got to have multiple scenes together.  BB loved it so much.  He came home every night practicing over and over his lines and songs.  I think the whole household had the entirety of the musical memorized before even going.  His enthusiasm showed. 

They were sad when it ended.  

A Good Finish

BB had back to back games to close out the season.  He was thrilled their ended the season with a win, and he got a great hit.  He pitched well and did a great job as catcher, too. 

And of course, it wouldn't be a true Fall week in the Thompson household if we didn't have overlapping activities.  Little Lady also had her orchestra concert combined with the high school during BB's last game.

Choral Perfection

 Joel and I drove an hour and forty minutes south to Pittsburg State to see Chanticleer sing.  It was choral perfection.  I was blown away not only by the level of difficulty, but by the precision of their singing.  Every cut off, the weaving in and out of the melody and harmonies in the parts, and overall musicality was off the charts.  I loved it.  It makes me miss high quality choral music.

 

Double Concert

 BB had a middle school choir concert at the same time Little Man had his high school choir concert.  It was double the music with no way to see both at the same time.  

Little Man is in the 2 highest choirs and then also sang in the Bass choir as well.

Busy, Busy

 Saturdays are not for the faint of heart around here.  We started the day with an 8am soccer game up North in Kansas City.  BB had a great game.  It was followed by work, Little Guy's baseball game, BB's baseball practice, a cross country meet, General Conference, and KCMTA Fall Festival.  

All 3 got a Superior rating of 4.  BB and Little Guy even got a 4+ for distinction.  They were the only 2 from Kansas City School of Music to get 4+, so it was a big deal to them.  

We celebrated with dinner at the Lenexa Market.  This is the "Mom-the-sun-is-too-bright" picture.
