Halloween

It was the perfect weather for Halloween - so lovely!  The kiddos were all dragons from How to Train Your Dragon: Light Fury, Night Fury, and Hook Fang.  Little Man chose to pass out candy this year.  BB pretty much ran from house to house.  Someone decorated all the stumps in our neighborhood, so it was so nice.  They're also convenient for when you get tired or bored.

Little Lady and BB lasted the longest.

Trunk or Treat & School Party

Trunk or treat was short and sweet at church.  Because of the threat of bad weather we did it inside. Little Man wanted Halloween pjs instead of dressing up this year.

I got to help out with Little Guy's Halloween party and parade.  He's my last kiddo in elementary school, so he's soaking up all the extra attention.

Pumpkin Patch

We drove out to Shaake's today on the kiddos' day off. It was surprisingly nice weather with few people there.

Half Birthday and a Reveal

Sunday was a lovely day.  Little Lady chose a Mississippi Mud Pie for her half birthday and gave half of it to Gracie.  I also got to be part of a gender reveal for my friend Kara.  She's having a boy!

A Furry Four

The ladies turn 4 today!  They are now officially older than my children in cat years, but sadly, this has not lessened their propensity toward mayhem and mischief.  It's a good thing they're cute.

It's Cold!

The ocean was a balmy 45 degrees Fahrenheit.  It was beautiful, but we mostly enjoyed it from shore.  I dipped a toe, but the little boys got pretty wet.

We learned about whale lice on our whale watching trip and then found some on the beach the very next day!
Little Man was not all that impressed, but everyone else loved it.

We also drove to The Devil's Punchbowl.  It's pretty impressive.

We went to one really nice seafood restaurant while staying in Lincoln.  I don't trust seafood to be all that fresh when you live in a landlocked state, but when you're eating overlooking the ocean it feels a bit safer.  The food was absolutely delicious.  Kyllos lived up to the hype.

(The Littles went with pizza and we're fine with that.  Little Man had shrimp and chips and loved it)

We stayed a half block from the ocean, so we could see the ocean from our balcony.  I liked having the door open, so I could hear the crash of the waves all day.  It's such a soothing sound.  We walked along the beach one last time on the 4th of July and we even saw some fireworks from our balcony, and then we headed to the airport in the morning.

Happy Father's Day

Joel's not a huge fan of Father's Day.  He says it makes him feel more acutely his shortcomings, but the kiddos adore him.  I'm not sure they realize quite yet how incredibly lucky they are to have him for a father.  They definitely won the lottery in that department.  I finally convinced him to tell me what he wanted to have for dinner, and he said dessert was fine.  Hahaha.  He requested chicken cord en bleu casserole, and I know him well enough to know he'd love Rahle's oreo brownies for dessert.

He comes by a lot of those great qualities honestly.  He often reminds me a lot of his dad.  They both have kind and gently souls.
