Double Duty

The boys both had 8am games in 2 different locations, so we tag-teamed.  I got to watch Little Guy play.  He was pretty excited that he got a goal.  This age is pure entertainment to watch.

In other exciting news, Little Guy finally learned how to ride his bike without training wheels.  It's too small for him now, so he needs a new bike, but he was pretty thrilled with his new skill.

Christmas in April

March and April blocks for do.Good Stitches are all about Christmas.  March was 3 trees in Christmas colors, and April was 2 houses using Christmas fabrics.  This pattern uses a paper template for the trees, so they took me a little longer than expected to make them, but they're a fun block.  She requested we not add the extra background piece, so that she can choose the pattern of all the trees and houses.

Stella seems to always know the perfect time to interrupt.  She always seems to show up when I'm sewing.  She plopped herself in front of my sewing machine mid-Christmas houses and refused to budge.  She is quite the attention seeker.

Tales and Fables

Little Lady had her 5th grade music performance last night.  Each class performed a tale or fable.  Her class did "The Little Hero of Holland."  She was a narrator.  Life is so crazy around here that of course I was ironing on the lettering for her costume right before she needed to take it to school for the dress rehearsal!  She and her whole grade did a great job.

The boys thoroughly enjoyed themselves cheering for Little Lady.

Patience is a Virtue

We took the kiddos to get their passport yesterday.  Some waited with more patience than others...

Student of the Week

When your last name starts with a "T" you're usually at the end of the line, and you wait a long time for you turn.  Little Guy has been waiting all school year to be the Star Student and his week has finally arrived.  He's thrilled!

Great Wolf Lodge

Little Lady didn't want a party with friends this year for her birthday.  She just wanted to celebrate as a family.  The kiddos had a random day off of school the Monday after her birthday, so we decided to get a day pass to the Great Wolf Lodge.  This was our first time, and everyone loved it.

Everyone loved the water slides.  Even Little Guy went down a couple of them.  BB and I tried out each of them, so we could rate them.
Not everyone agreed on the best slide, so there was a healthy debate.

Almost all the kids said the hot tub was their favorite part.  I wouldn't have guessed that, but they absolutely loved the hot water.  After dinner we ended the evening with the Lazy River.

It was a lot of fun, and the kiddos slept well that night.

A Lovely Easter

The weather was overcast and cold, but that didn't dampen our day.  Easter was lovely.  Church was lovely.

(Little Lady wanted to match this year, so match we did).

The kiddos made little chickies afterward for a fun Easter craft, and then we had Easter dinner at Grandma and Grandpa Thompson's home.  It was delightful.

Pagan Fun

My husband likes to reserve Easter Day specifically for Jesus, so we do all the Easter bunny fun the day before.  The day started out with a VERY cold soccer game early in the morning.  I forgot how chilly early mornings can be in the Spring.  Little Guy was very cold.  I had to give him my coat when he was on the sidelines, and he was still shiver shaking his way through the game.

In the afternoon we made fun Easter nests to give to people and then had an Easter egg hunt.  Joel outdid himself with a couple of very deviously hidden eggs.  His cackle was the highlight of the hunt.

They fully enjoyed the spoils of their hunt.
