TFT: Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young

Not every song that will be featured in this TWO FOR TUESDAY (TFT) series will be what is generally considered as being “Christian” in the eyes of this world.  For some will be anguished cries from the pit of despair while others will be quite obviously fervent rants of rebellion.  Nonetheless, be assured that they will all be of our Heavenly Father in one way or another, and I hope that you will want to hear and fully accept the message, if you have been allowed and enabled to.

Teach Your Children
Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young
You
Who are on the road
Must have a code
That you can live by
And so
Become yourself
Because the past
Is just a good-bye

Teach
The children well
THeir father's hell
Did slowly go by
And feed
Them on your dreams
The one
They picks
The one
You'll know by
Don't you ever ask them why
If they told you
You would cry
So just look at them
And sigh
And know they love you

And you
Of tender years
Can't know the fears
That your elders grew by
And so
Please help
Them with your youth
They seek the truth
Before they can die

Teach
The parents well
The children's hell
Will slowly go by
And feed
Them on your dreams
The one they picks
The one you'll know by
Don't you ever ask them why
If they told you
You would cry
So just look at them
And sigh
And know they love you

Southern Cross
Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young
Got out of town
On a boat
For the Southern Islands
Sailin’ to reach
Before
A followin’ sea
She was makin' for the Trades
On the outside
And the downhill run
To Papeete

Off the wind
On this heading
Lie the Marquesas
We got eighty feet of waterline
Nicely making way
In a noisy bar
In Avalon
I tried to call you
But on a midnight watch
I realized
Why twice you ran away

Think about
How many times
I have fallen
Spirits are usin’ me
Larger voices callin'
What Heaven brought
You and me
Cannot be forgotten
I have been around
The world
Lookin’ for
That woman girl
Who knows
Love can endure
And you know it will
And you know it will

When you see
The Southern Cross
For the first time
You understand now why
You came this way
'Cause the truth you might be runnin' from
Is so small
But it's as big as the promise
The promise of a comin’ day

So
I'm sailin’ for tomorrow
My dreams are a dyin'
And my love is an anchor
Tied to you
Tied with a silver chain
I have my ship
And all her flags are a flyin'
She is all I have left
And music is her name

Think about
How many times
I have fallen
Spirits are usin’ me
Larger voices callin'
What Heaven brought
You and me
Cannot be forgotten
I have been around
The world
Lookin' for
That woman girl
Who knows
Love can endure
And you know it will
And you know it will

So we cheated
And we lied
And we tested
And we never failed to fail
It was the easiest thing to do
You will survive
Bein’ bested
Aomebody fine
Will come along
Make me forget about lovin’ you
And the Southern Cross
And the Southern Cross

TFT: Buffalo Springfield

Not every song that will be featured in this TWO FOR TUESDAY (TFT) series will be what is generally considered as being “Christian” in the eyes of this world.  For some will be anguished cries from the pit of despair while others will be quite obviously fervent rants of rebellion.  Nonetheless, be assured that they will all be of our Heavenly Father in one way or another, and I hope that you will want to hear and fully accept the message, if you have been allowed and enabled to.

For What It’s Worth
Buffalo Springfield
There’s something happenin’ here
What it is
Ain’t exactly clear
There’s a man with a gun over there
Tellin’ me
I got to beware

I think it’s time we
Stop
Children
What’s that sound
Everybody look
What’s goin’ down

There’s battle lines bein’ drawn
Nobody’s right
If everybody’s wrong
Young people speakin’ their minds
Getting’ so much resistance
From behind

I think it’s time we
Stop
Hey
What’s that sound
Everybody look
What’s goin’ down

What a field day for the heat
A thousand people
In the street
Singin’ songs
and a-carryin’ signs
Mostly say
Hooray for our side

I think it’s time we
Stop
Hey
What’s that sound
Everybody look
What’s goin’ down

Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life
It will creep
It starts when you’re always afraid
You step out of line
The man come
And take you away

You’d better
Stop
Hey
What’s that sound
Everybody look
What’s goin’ down
You’d better
Stop
Hey
What’s that sound
Everybody look
What’s goin’ down
You’d better
Stop
Now
What’s that sound
Everybody look
What’s goin’ down
You’d better
Stop
Children
What’s that sound
Everybody look
What’s goin’ down

Bluebird
Buffalo Springfield
Listen to my bluebird laugh
She can’t tell you why
Deep within her heart
You see
She knows only cryin’
Just cryin’
Yeah

There she sits
A lofty perch
Strangest color blue
Flyin’ is forgotten now
Thinks only of you
Just you
Aaah
Yeah

So
Get all those blues
Must be a thousand hues
And each just differently used
You just know
You sit there mesmerized
By the depth of her eyes
Is that you can’t categorize
She’s got soul
She’s got soul
She’s got soul
She’s got soul

Do you think
She knows you
Do you think
At all

Soon she’s goin’ to fly away
Sadness is her own
Reverse of a bath of tears
And go home
And go home

TFT: The Hollies

Not every song that will be featured in this TWO FOR TUESDAY (TFT) series will be what is generally considered as being “Christian” in the eyes of this world.  For some will be anguished cries from the pit of despair while others will be quite obviously fervent rants of rebellion.  Nonetheless, be assured that they will all be of our Heavenly Father in one way or another, and I hope that you will want to hear and fully accept the message, if you have been allowed and enabled to.

He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother
The Hollies
The road is long
With many a winding turn
That leads us to who
Knows where
Who knows where
But I'm strong
Strong enough to carry him
He ain't heavy
He's my brother

So on we go
His welfare is of my concern
No burden is he
To bear
We'll get there
For I know
He would not encumber me
He ain't heavy
He's my brother

If I'm laden
At all
Then I'm laden
With sadness
That everyone's heart
Isn't filled with the gladness
Of love
For one another

It's a long long road
From which there is no return
While we're on the way
To there
Why not share
And the load
Doesn't weigh me down
At all
He ain't heavy
He's my brother

He's my brother

He ain't heavy

He's my brother

The Air That I Breathe
The Hollies
If I could make a wish
I think I'd pass
Can't think of anything I need
No cigarettes
No sleep
No light
No sound
Nothing to eat
No books to read
Making love with you
Has left me peaceful
Warm
And tired
What more could I ask
There's nothing left
To be desired

Peace came upon me
And it leaves me weak
So sleep
Silent angel
Go to sleep

Sometimes
All I need is the air that I breathe
And to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
Just to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe

Peace came upon me
And it leaves me weak
So sleep
Silent angel
Go to sleep

Sometimes
All I need is the air that I breathe
And to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
Just to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe

Sometimes
All I need is the air that I breathe
And to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
Just to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
And to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
Just to love you

TFT: The Byrds

Not every song that will be featured in this TWO FOR TUESDAY (TFT) series will be what is generally considered as being “Christian” in the eyes of this world.  For some will be anguished cries from the pit of despair while others will be quite obviously fervent rants of rebellion.  Nonetheless, be assured that they will all be of our Heavenly Father in one way or another, and I hope that you will want to hear and fully accept the message, if you have been allowed and enabled to.

Turn Turn Turn
The Byrds
To everything
Turn turn turn
There is a season
Turn turn turn
And a time to every purpose
Under Heaven

A time to be born
A time to die
A time to plant
A time to reap
A time to kill
A time to heal
A time to laugh
A time to weep

To everything
Turn turn turn
There is a season
Turn turn turn
And a time to every purpose
Under Heaven

A time to build up
A time to break down
A time to dance
A time to mourn
A time to cast away stones
A time to gather stones together

To everything
Turn turn turn
There is a season
Turn turn turn
And a time to every purpose
Under Heaven

A time of love
A time of hate
A time of war
A time of peace
A time you may embrace
A time to refrain from embracing

To everything
Turn turn turn
There is a season
Turn turn turn
And a time to every purpose
Under Heaven

A time to gain
A time to lose
A time to rend
A time to sew
A time for love
A time for hate
A time for peace
I swear it’s not too late

Eight Miles High
The Byrds
Eight miles high
And when you touch down
You’ll find that it’s
Stranger than known

Signs in the street
That say where you goin’
Are somewhere
Just being their own

Nowhere is
There’s warmth to be found
Among those afraid
Of losing their ground

Rain gray town
Known for its sound
In places
Small faces abound

Round the squares
Huddled in storms
Some laughing
Some just shapeless forms

Sidewalk scenes
And black limousines
Some living
Some standing alone
