The Dragon & The Fox

Morning ... I thought I would join in with a challenge this week to try and get back into things so I went to one of my favourite inspirational places.. CAS(e) This Sketch.  I had already coloured in this cute little dragon from Mama Elephant so just needed an idea to use him... and how cute is this little fox...

I created a background on Neenah 110lb card stock with broken glass distress oxide and then used the stitched squares from Simon Says Stamp to create a Polaroid frame to sit in front of the back ground. This has been textured with the linen plate from Papertrey Ink.  I added some grass with SU Lemon Lime Twist card stock and the clouds are a really old memory box cloud die.

The dragon and fox are coloured in with copic markers and then mounted using foam tape over the back ground. The card is finished off with a simple sentiment from Clearly Besotted stamps.

I used the sketch from CAS(e) This Sketch #267 for some inspiration.

I am trying to make cards that are still clean and simple but have just a little bit more content on them and a sketch is a great way to help me do this.

Hope you all have a fabulous Sunday.. I'll be back soon

Birthday Bunny... and a new LOTV Challenge

Morning... I'm back after a few days off, mainly because my craft room is still a mess from my purging and mega sorting, labeling etc (which is no where near finished) so I am trying to finish that in spare time rather than craft so it is done once and for all.
The craft room move has been an epic adventure, but I have so much (too much) stuff and it really needs sorting and a mega destash.

Today I do have a card for the new Lili Of The Valley Facebook challenge which you can find here! This month the challenge is Anything Goes, a nice easy one for you.

I have used the super cute Cream Cake and shrunk it down in word to give you a very CAS card... I love it!!

The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted and a favourite. It fits in perfectly I think

Hope you all have a great Friday!

The window for the sentiment is not quite straight though :-( and the photo is not great either but it was late last night when I was making this and we were up until 1:30am Saturday crafting...

The Gunpowder Plot

Well it's Saturday Morning again and I've managed to get to my craft room early (courtesy of waiting for Mr British Gas) so I thought I'd get in early with this weeks Less Is More challenge.... RED & ORANGE!!! Now I did panic a little bit (actually a lot as I really don't like orange) but I managed to come up with this....

I'm not really happy with it and it hasn't photographed well either... but hey ho!!

Vintage Paris

Well it's Saturday morning and this week at Less Is More Diva and Lady LIM surprised everyone by announcing earlier in the week that it would be an "ANYTHING GOES" challenge.... but I missed it until 7:15 this morning... And how could I let them down by not being here early on a Saturday (although I bet Lizy beats me lol)... I've have been up since early doors and have been getting a little inky so I hope this fits the bill for Mandi & Chrissie's challenge of getting a 1000 entries and breaking blogger...

I'm doing really well at using up the scraps in the draw and this card was no exception although I'm a long way off them being vaguely empty... Although I think I may do this one in blue as well...

Organic Flower Trio

Well after a long day at work and BBQ at Lizy's I thought I should make at least one card to keep me on track with my 100 card challenge.  The circles I cut out for apertures from this weeks Less Is More Sketch challenge were still on my desk so I thought I would utilise them in another entry.

I've tried to go for something a little bit different but I have kept the colours very muted. I used scraps of the first edition paper to line the inside and then used the circles to bridge the front of the card together where I cut it into pieces to give the impression of the border across the trio.  The wooden flowers are from Kars and the pearls from Hobby House.  Fairly simple but I like it...Hope you do too...

I'm off to read a few chapters on my kindle.... hope you all have a good Tuesday

Summer Fields

Morning LIMettes, well it's Saturday yet again and I'm not up as early as I normally am this week.  Anyhow Lady & Diva LIM have given us a sketch this week at Less Is More and I had about a million ideas so you may see me a couple of times this week lol... here is the card I made...

Using a coloured card blank in pale yellow (I do like not white card blanks if you hadn't all already noticed lol),  I have put 3 circles into the co-ordination card with a nestie and then raised this off using foam pads ( I know... but they don't squash lol) and put DP behind it... It's finished off with the little butterflies. I have left it without a sentiment as I am going to use it as a little notelet. Simple

Sweetheart In Red....

Just a quick one for tonight but I thought I would make a little card for my other half to go with a present I got for him and had this idea of tone on tone buttons in the form of a heart.... Here it is...

It's simply a heart hand drawn in a faux stitch and cut out and then filled with a selection of buttons from my stash. This is then mounted on red card (10cm by 10cm).  And since it is monotone, it's another perfect entry into this weeks Less Is More Monochrome Challenge...

Hope you like it...

Time is a Companion

Seems I am on a roll now with monotone cards and this one was simply an accident using shades of brown.  I followed the sketch from Clean & Simple # 143 and used the Tim Holtz stamps again... I'm loving these... Here it is...

Now the backing card seems lighter on the photo in real life.. I'm not really liking the photo at all.

Since it is monotone I might as well show it at Less Is More ( they may get sick of me this week lol)....

Here is what I used.....
Card Recipe
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Stamps: Stampers Anon Playful Journey
Card: Stash
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug
Punch: Martha Stewart

Hope you all have a great day...

Armchair Bear CAS Style

I really am going back to my routes with a more clean and simple style and although I really do mix up my card styles CAS is where I started. This little number didn't start off this way, in fact I just couldn't find a DP the right colour so I gave up and decided to cut it out and put it straight on a card blank that I had printed a sentiment onto. I love it so much I'm going to do the same with a couple more images as quick fathers day cards. Here it is...

I'm entering this into the following challenges:
CES Challenge - Clean & Simple
Do It With Digis - It's All About the Boys ( Used Digi Sentiment).

Card Recipe
Promarkers: Cardinal, Caramel, Cocoa, Sandstone,
Putty, Cool Grey 1, Cornflower, China Blue, Cobalt Blue, Blender
Image: LOTV Armchair Bear
Font: Champagne & Limousines and Homemade Apple Pie

Hope you have a fab day and thanks for visiting....

Iris

Well I did get a little telling off yesterday for replacing the white with pink at Less is More and I should have probably done shades of pink so I thought I would have another crack at a fully Monotone card... this time with shades of purple.... Here is my very simple card....

The stamp is from Penny Black Allegro T for Transparent inked with Memento Grape Jelly, the ribbon from stash and I've added just a touch of Faerie Kisses Diamond Sparkles...

I'll be back tomorrow.....

Butterfly Kisses

Well I'm officially obsessed.... yet another LIM entry and I could probably make another 50 cards with Butterflies on quite easily... sad??? I know lol.... This was was not planned, as I was looking through my Scrap-a-licious sentiments and I came across this one.  It's simply finished off with a Penny Black stamp - Butterfly edge stamped across the page in pink memento ink and the corners are rounded... Nothing else too it

I'll be back tomorrow for the new challenge... hope you all have a good Friday and are getting ready for the long weekend.... I know I am!

It's The Little Things....

*** 4 of 100 in the 100 Card Challenge for Macmillan***

So this little number is a very quick make "because" I didn't read the rules correctly at CAS-ual Fridays and entered the last one into more than the allowed challenges ( they had changes the rules lol).  The very lovely Michele let me know via email so I couldn't resist having to make another one.... and yet another excuse to use more butterflies lol.... It of course then fits into LIM Butterflies ( yes again lol).. Here it is...

The sentiment is again from Tim Holtz Stamper Anonymous but this time from "Natures Elements".  The paper is Shabby Princess Sweet Sprinkles collection (if you haven't come across Shabby yet then you are missing out on fab "free" papers). I've use a cuttle bug embossing folder the wrong way up and then finished the edge with a little ribbon.  The butterflies are punches from Martha Stewart and then it's blinged up with gems from the Hobby House and finished by rounding off the corners.  Not bad for about 10 mins work ...

Thanks for visiting
