It's Color Throwdown time and Kerry is our hostess this week. Here's her pretty inspiration photo:

I'm LOVIN' these sweet cats from Whimsy Stamps. Too..Freakin'..Cute!  The card measures 4" square, the scallop oval is up on foam tape, the layout is Sweet Sunday Sketch #180, and I added Stickles to the ruffly part of the heart that the cat is leaning on.  Papers are My Mind's Eye Quilting Bee and the image was colored with Copics.

Sweet Sunday Sketch 167

Hey all!  I had some stamping time this morning so I thought I'd play along in the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge....wow, the actual day OF the challenge, too. Whooo-hoooo!  That never happens for me anymore.

I know a few people with birthdays coming up at the end of the month so I decided to pull out some of my old Penny Black stamps and start making some birthday cards.  The large circle is up on foam tape and the papers are Quilting Bee by My Mind's Eye.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Sunday!

SSSC164 Sheltering Blossom

Good morning, everyone. Here's hoping this is the last sympathy card I'll need for a while now.

The layout is Sweet Sunday Sketch #164 and stamps are from SNSS ("Sheltering Cherry Blossom").  The image was colored with E41, E42, E43, R00, and R02 Copics.  The tag die is from MFT Stamps and the pink ribbon is from PTI.

Have a really great day!

SSSC163 The Sea

Hello. I'm back with another sympathy card. I don't know what's going on lately, but I'm in need of two more now.   :(

I used Sweet Sunday Sketch #163 for the layout (switched out a bow for the flower element, and moved it to the left to accommodate the image) and new July release stamps from Sweet 'n Sassy (The Sea and Sheltering Cherry Blossom).  The image and sentiment were stamped in sky blue Brilliance ink and cut out with a Romantic Rectangles Nestabilities die.  Note about the bow: I punched a hole in the main image with my slot punch so I could thread the ribbon through it and tie the bow right over it.

Have a good day.  :)

SSSC163 Thanks a Bunch

Hi all!  I can't believe it's Monday already.  Last week we were at the beach and we had an awesome time! I really wasn't ready to come home yet.  :( We got home on Saturday, I got laundry done, grocery shopping done, and watched some movies with Kara.  Today, my mom is having surgery on her knee, so I'll be headed to the hospital this afternoon to see her.

I made this card for Sweet Sunday Sketch #163 using my With Gratitude set from Flourishes.  Papers are Summer Fresh (yes, I really do love them and use them a lot), the tab die is from MFT, and the blue floral panel is up on foam tape. The pearls (colored with a YR21 Copic marker) and lime plisse ribbon are also from Flourishes, and the image was colored with Copics (Green Grass Collection, YR21, YR23, YR24, and W3).  I totally forgot about the flower element in the sketch, but oh well. Oh, and the corner is bent a little....because this card took a nose dive off my deck...oops!....it happens.  :)

Have a really great day, everyone!

Sweet Pea Hello

I made this card for Sweet Sunday Sketch 160...

The sweet pea image is from Flourishes' Sweet Peas set, the tiny (can you see it??) "hello" sentiment is from Flourishes' Friendly Reminders set, papers are Howdy Doody by My Mind's Eye, the main image is up on foam tape, and dots of Stickles were added around the main image for sparkle. Speaking of "dots".....I made a mistake and got a spot of my R02 Copic on the edge of the main panel.....so to hide it, I added some more dots....and then some more....and then some more.....well, I think I went overboard on the dots...lol!  Oh well...it's a finished card so I wanted to post it.  :)  The card measures 4.25" square.

Copics: 0, G21, G24, G28, G40, R00, R02

Have a great day!

sMOOches

LOL!....love this "sMOOches" sentiment from my brand new Chubby Chums set. It just arrived in the mail on Saturday and I couldn't wait to make a card with one of the cute animals in the set.

The layout is Sweet Sunday Sketch #159, papers are Farm Fresh by October Afternoon, the cow is colored with Copics (R000, R00, R20, BG0000, BG10, BG11, BG13, W1, W3, G21, G24, G40, 0), and Stickles were added to the blue dots around the cow.

Have a really great day!

...and ANOTHER Turtle :)

Back to Kona again...this time in pink and green (our team colors....oops, I promised no more mud talk) and I used Sweet Sunday Sketch #158.

The circles were cut with Spellbinders dies.  They're up on foam tape, as is the punched (green) Aloha sentiment. Stickles were added to the water drops around Kona. Papers are Fine and Dandy Girl by My Mind's Eye and Kona was colored with Copic markers.

Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit and happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there.  :)

Sweet Sunday Sketch Guest!

Whooo-hoooo, I'm so excited! I'm guest designing this week along with Karen Giron and her sketch team. How cool is that?! Karen's sketches are always so fun and this one is no exception. :) Here it is...

...and here's my sample...

The stamp is by Elzybells and it's called Daisy Canopy. It was stamped on white CS with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics (W1, W3, G20, YG03, YG63, YG67, Y21, Y32, YR04, YR68, YR21, YR24). Stickles were added to the egg and daisy. The scallop kraft matting and the large yellow die-cut tag are up on separate layers of foam tape. The sentiment was made on the computer with Pristina font and then cut out with the ribbon diet. The tag and ribbon dies are MFT Die-namics and the rectangle/scallop rectangle are Spellbinders. Papers are On the Bright Side-One and On the Bright Side-Two.

Here's a close-up of the dimension...

To play along in the sketch challenge, be sure to link your creation to Karen's blog and please be sure to visit the Sweet Sunday Stampers Design Team blogs...

More Nature Babies

Oh and how I LOOOOVE this raccoon and squirrel....especially the raccoon. He stole my heart!

The digi image is from Nature Babies 2 from Angel's Landing and the sentiment is from my MFT Essential Sentiments clear set. The main panel is up on foam tape and the punched sentiment is up on a second layer of foam. The animals were colored with Copics and I added the grass by hand. The Copics I used were G20, YG03, YG63, YG67, E31, E41, E42, E43, E51, W1, W3, W5, and W7. The layout is Sweet Sunday Sketch #154. Papers are On the Bright Side-Two by My Mind's Eye.

So how's your weekend? We went to see The Lorax (cuuuute!) yesterday and today Kara is having one of her friend's over for a play date. I plan to watch the race in the kitchen while I get some food prepped for the week (salads, hard boiled eggs, etc....we're starting a new diet this week so I just need to have stuff ready to grab and snack on).

Have a great Sunday!

Kiss for Chloe

Hey there! Hailey's boyfriend asked me to make a valentine's card for her using this Sarah Kay "Kiss for Chloe" image, this custom sentiment, and he wanted it done in shades of purple. Ohhhh, this card was so much fun to make!

The layout is Sweet Sunday Sketch #151. I made the sentiment on the computer with the "Pristina" font. The die-cut sentiment flag is up on foam tape. Papers are My Mind's Eye Market Street.

He also asked me to incorporate a rose on the inside of the card so I pulled out my "Sweet Nature" set from Flourishes and colored up the long-stemmed rose....

I really hope she liked this card as much as I enjoyed making it. Have a great day, all!

I saw on FB that there were two new Wryn images at Tiddly Inks, ran right over to the site and bought them up. Toooooo cute! Here's one of them...

The layout is Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #150, the main panel is up on foam tape, Wryn is colored with Copics, Stickles were added for sparkle, and the papers are Ohh La La by My Mind's Eye.

That's it for me today. Short and sweet. Have a good one!

Critter Party Puppy

Hi there and happy January 3rd. Hubby is back to work and the kiddo is back to school....and I have the house to myself again! Ahhhhh, it's so quiet around here! :) Last night I had some time to craft and I'm in need of a couple birthday cards this week, so here's the first one I made....

The layout is Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch. I took inspiration from her card and ruffled up my ribbon. The puppy, stamped butterfly, and sentiment are from my Penny Black Critter Party set (yes, I love this set and use it a lot....especially that birthday sentiment...hope you're not sick of seeing it). The main image is up on foam tape and Stickles were added for some pretty sparkle. The card measures 4" square.

Have a really great day!
