CTD229 Kitties
Hi there! It's Color Throwdown time and Wanda is our hostess this week. Here's the sweet combo she picked for us:
Here's my card:
I used my Penny Black "Stuck On You" clear set. The layout is Deconstructed Sketch #88 and I totally took inspiration from Tobi Crawford's card (you can see it by clicking HERE....sweet, right?!) with the square card with rounded corners, twine, and pearl accents. I didn't have Blushing Bride CS so I replaced it with some Pink Pirouette CS and patterned paper. The circle with the cats and the pink scallop circle are both up on separate layers of foam tape. The green polka dot paper is actually Christmas paper (lol!, hey, if you got it, use it!); MME Merry Christmas Winter Wonderland. I colored the adhesive pearls with a G21 Copic. The Penny Black image is colored with 0, E41, E42, E43, R20, R22, G21, G28, and G40 Copics.
Be sure to hop around to see what the CTD girls have created for you today or you can click on over to the Color Throwdown blog to see everything all in one place.

...and here's my card:
The layout is Deconstructed Sketch #86. The main image is called "Snuggle" by Penny Black and it's popped up on foam tape. I added a bit of Stickles to the hearts and grass, too. The sentiment is from MFT Stamps.

Sweet Sunday Sketch 167
Hey all! I had some stamping time this morning so I thought I'd play along in the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge....wow, the actual day OF the challenge, too. Whooo-hoooo! That never happens for me anymore.
I know a few people with birthdays coming up at the end of the month so I decided to pull out some of my old Penny Black stamps and start making some birthday cards. The large circle is up on foam tape and the papers are Quilting Bee by My Mind's Eye.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great Sunday!

Welcome Home, Lo!
A good friend of mine had a cat go "missing" a year and a half ago. Well, last week she FOUND him about a mile from their house, alive and well thanks to a nice couple who were feeding him, and now he's back home with my girlfriend where he belongs. Ahhhhh, I love a happy ending. Anyhooooo, I wanted to make a "cat card" to send to her to welcome him home.....
I used Deconstructed Sketch 55 for the layout, colors from last week's Color Throwdown (I totally missed the cut-off for playing along on time), a cat from Penny Black's "Stuck on You" clear set, sentiment from Delta that I picked up at Michael's, and ribbon/scallop dies from MFT Stamps. There's a curve in the sentiment by gluing down the ends close together and the main image with the cat is up on foam tape. Papers are Howdy Doody by My Mind's Eye. Stickles were added to the heart on the envelope that the cat is holding. Copics: 0, W1, W3, E41, E42, E43, R20
Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by. :)

Game On
..(or actually, "game off").....Kara is now finished with her first soccer season so I made this for her coach to thank him for being so encouraging and fun (as it should be for a bunch of 7-year-olds). She really liked having him as her coach and already asked if he'll be her coach in the fall (that'd be cool if he was).
The stamp is by Penny Black (called "Game On"), the layout is the June Sketch For You To Try, both clouds are up on foam tape, both stars are up on foam tape, the main image is also up on foam tape, and I added some machine stitching around the edges and along the "hill." The burgundy paper used for the stars is Apple Cider by Imaginisce. The white wood and green polka dot papers are from my On The Bright Side-Two paper pad by My Mind's Eye. Those are some funky shoes, huh?....well, I wanted to do the school colors of burgundy and gold. :)
Copics used: YG11, YG13, YG17, BG0000, BG10, BG11, R20, R46, R59, YR000, YR00, YR15, YR21, E41, E42, E43, W1, W5, 0.
Tomorrow is Kara's last day of school so I'm enjoying my last QUIET day of having the house to myself....so on that note, I think I'll see what other crafy challenges I can play along in....fun! Have a good one!

Happy Cluckin' Birthday
Yes....I, of course, had to make a CARD with chickens...lol!
The chicken stamp is by Penny Black and the curved sentiment is from Anna Wight's Crazy for Chickens set. The main panel with the chickens is up on foam tape. Papers are Farm Fresh by October Afternoon and I added Stickles to the balloon, straw, and flowers. Here's a close-up of the curved sentiment...
In my last post, I mentioned that I'm doing a mud run this coming Saturday and that Hailey and I had made the shirts for everyone on our team. Andrea said she'd like to see a pic....so here they are....
All I did was iron the shirts and iron on the turtle appliques. Hailey did the lettering on all 9 t-shirts. "Fast and Dirty Turtles"...lol!...that's us! :)
Have a great day all! I'm off to go walking with my friend Dawn and then I gotta hit Walmart and Lowe's. Go go go.....

Make a Wish
I made this card for Deconstructed Sketch 49. The pink oval is up on foam tape and I added some sparkly Stickles to the cupcake icing and candle flame. Papers are Fine and Dandy Girl by My Mind's Eye. The stamped image and sentiment are from my Penny Black Critter Party clear set.
Sorry if my pictures are blurry. I recently got a virus on my desktop computer and Dan is still working on fixing it....so I'm using my little netbook to write up blog posts and I won't have Photoshop until the desktop computer is fixed. I miss my Photoshop for editing pictures. Anyway....enough about the virus. On a happy note, here's a pic of the chickens....
Meet Eeeny, Meeny, Miney, and Norm (Dan wanted to name one Norm)....lol!
Have a great day, all!

CAS Butterflies
Hello again. Here's another rainbow card. This time I went with a butterfly theme using one of my Martha Stewart butterfly punches. I'm really having fun playing with my dies and punches this week and making them the focus of my cards.
The three larger butterflies are up on foam tape, I added a border to the top and bottom using my EK Success wavy dot punch, some machine stitching, and stamped the birthday sentiment from Penny Black Critter Party. Here's the inside where I added more butterflies...

Georgie Cartwheel
Heehee...love the name of this digi image. Too cute! I made this card for one of K's friends who has a birthday coming up in a couple weeks.
The image is called "Georgie Cartwheel" and it's my Mo Manning. I colored the image with Copics and added some grass. The sentiment is from my Penny Black "Critter Party" set. Papers are "On the Bright Side-One" by My Mind's Eye. The layout is last Monday's Mojo Sketch #229.
Have a great Monday!

Happy Birthday, Kara!
Well, technically it's not her birthday YET, but tomorrow we're having her roller skating party with her friends and then we'll be having family over to the house afterward, and I wanted to show you the card I made for her.
The cat stamp (Tulip Jungle) and sentiment (Critter Party) are both from Penny Black. The image was stamped on Sparkle Blanc CS from Paper Temptress, colored with Copic markers, Stickles were added to the tulips, and then I cut out the whole image and popped it up on foam tape. The layout is Freshly Made Sketch #19. I made sure to add seven rhinestones to the card since the birthday girl is turning a big SEVEN this coming week. Wow!...seven already....sigh....
Okay, so on that note....have yourself a great weekend! Whooo-hooooo....TGIF!

Birthday Butterfly
Hey there! I'm back with another birthday card....just a quick, CAS butterfly card with some bling. :)
Both butterflies (SU dies) are up on separate layers of foam tape. All the patterned papers are from my MME Ooh La La pack. The stamped sentiment is from my Penny Black Critter Party (again...lol!) clear set.
That's it for me today...short and sweet. Have a good one!

Critter Party Puppy
Hi there and happy January 3rd. Hubby is back to work and the kiddo is back to school....and I have the house to myself again! Ahhhhh, it's so quiet around here! :) Last night I had some time to craft and I'm in need of a couple birthday cards this week, so here's the first one I made....
The layout is Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch. I took inspiration from her card and ruffled up my ribbon. The puppy, stamped butterfly, and sentiment are from my Penny Black Critter Party set (yes, I love this set and use it a lot....especially that birthday sentiment...hope you're not sick of seeing it). The main image is up on foam tape and Stickles were added for some pretty sparkle. The card measures 4" square.
Have a really great day!

Superduper Girl
This is the card I made for Hailey's birthday. Her actual birthday is still a week away, but I gave her the card yesterday along with her gifts before we headed off to a Halloween party.....never made it to the Halloween party due to the snowstorm. :(
The image is Mo Manning's "Superduper Girl." It's colored with Copics and I added Stickles to the "S" and cape. Both stars are up on foam tape and so is the birthday sentiment, which is from my Penny Black "Critter Party" clear set.
Have an awesome day!

Superstar
I made this card for Kara to send to one of her friends who's turning 7 this week.
The birthday girl loves yellow so I stuck with those colors in the image (Penny Black's Cat on the Moon) and pulled out this yellow DP pattern from my Seaside pack of papers. The stars and Verve "superstar" sentiment are up on foam tape.
Here's a close-up of that sparkly moon and stars....

HYCCT Pink Critters
Here's a birthday card for Lydia's "pink critter" HYCCT challenge. I added Stickles all over the balloon, chickens, hay and flowers. The sentiment flag is up on foam tape.
Here's a close-up...
So guess who won a medal in the run yesterday.....seriously?...heehee, seriously!! I got second place in my age group. Couldn't believe it!
I'm waiting for them to post the results of all the runners on the website so I can see just HOW many were IN my age group. Who knows, it may have only been two of us (lol!)...but whatever, it was totally FUN to GET a medal. Like my friend Dawn said, if it was only two of us, that's two of us that got our butts out there. :) I ran the 6.2 miles in 1 hour and 9 minutes. I'd be lying if I said I felt great the whole run....the hills (too many of them) were tough, it was chilly, and after crossing the finish line I felt a little sick to my stomach...BUT I did it. Yay! :)
*ETA*....just saw the results for all finishers in the 10K....there were only THREE in my age group.....lol! It's okay....it'll take it however I can get it. :)
Have an awesome Sunday!

HYCCT Friendship
Wish me luck today....I'm doing my first-ever 10K run.
Here's another card for the HYCCT challenges on SCS. This one is for Tammy's friend-themed challenge. The main panel was sponged with Regal Rose ink with the Spellbinders die left in place while sponging. That main panel is popped up on foam tape and the butterfly's wings are bent up for some added dimension. Underneath the main panel, there's some crocheted lace ribbon and a small scalloped edge. Here's a close-up...
Have a great Saturday!.....I'm literally "off and running"...haha!
