Ebay Items - Including the Blood Bowl Team!

So, I finally got around to posting this on ebay.  I am a novice at this, so the description/posting might be a bit lame.  I'm hoping it'll go for a decent amount.  I have also put some other older stuff up as well.

Here's hoping!

http://r.ebay.com/eJZOiI  - Blood Bowl Team
http://r.ebay.com/HHfzM5 - Warrior Priest with great weapon
http://r.ebay.com/1Kgwgz - Blood Angel Librarian Conversion

http://r.ebay.com/aiMJRm - Death Company with Jump Packs
http://r.ebay.com/BYfYYr - Graphics Tablet
http://r.ebay.com/XPjQyh - Graphics Card

And this thing sold really quickly, I do think I could have gotten more but £30 isn't bad!

Cheers for any interest.  I am hoping to get more work on the slayer this weekend.

Blood Bow Team - COMPLETED!!

THEY. ARE. FINALLY. DONE.

Yes.  As you might have guessed over this last month I have been painting up a blood bowl team to be sold off.  It has been one hell of a slog.  Too much of one really.  But they are done and I'm happy to sell them off, and I think I never want to touch yellow paint over again.  You have all seen the players before, but I'm going to put up pictures anyway, the thing to show this time are the markers.

Blood Bowl team is almost done.

They are nearly done!  Finally.  I am a bit sick and tired of this team now, but also pretty damn pleased with them.  They all have numbers on and completed bases.  The bases I took from my dwarf team I have done before, but added some mud patches to make it look like the pitch was well played.  I think it turned out really well.

Below are some pictures.  I now have a few more things to paint up, a turn, score and two re-roll markers.  Pictures of them will be incoming later this week.

Getting there

It has been a little while but I've been busy.  This week has been the fiancée's birthday, then a gig to see Marcus Brigstock, a gaming night and drinks.  All in all a full week.  I did find a small amount of time to get some painting done.  I now have three quarters of a completed team.  So close!  Three more to go, then I need to add numbers, bases and doing some markers.

I am stuck on the markers though, I am thinking an eagle for the turn marker but other than that I am currently at a loss.

[Blood Bowl] Continuing the Team

Slowly been working on these guys and now have two more members painted up bringing the total to three.  I am really happy with the yellow, it doesn't show in these quick pictures but it is really quite vibrant.  The glove and ball has been done red-brown to make them stand out from brown.  I'm going to paint numbers on the shoulder pads at a later time, after they are done.

[Blood Bowl] Human Team Test Model

Right, it has been a while since I have done any posting.  I have painted up a single player for a Blood Bowl team that I am hoping to sell on ebay, when they're all done.  It has been a while since I painted anything but this guy I really like the look of (am I going to have a hard time letting go...?).  I decided to go with colours for Solland; yellow and black for the team to make them stand out.  The team will be the human team that comes with the boxed set, and I'm likely to make some markers for turn, score and re-rolls as well (like the dwarf team I did a while back).  The yellow is a little stronger/brighter in person.

Anyway, here he is.  Would you buy a team of these guys?  Oh, and I'm currently unsure whether to put numbers on the shoulder pad or a freehanded symbol.  My other idea was to put a number on the yellow leg.  I'm also not sure about the silver on the pad and might consider a bronze colour instead.

On to the next project

It has been a while since I have painted anything, and will be at least another week but I have a project in mind.  This Tuesday I move into a house with the girl friend (rented still) and it has an awesome little room that is going to be a 'study' aka my geek room.  :D  So this week has been full of boxes and bags as we're trying to get everything sorted out and ready.

But this hasn't stopped me making plans!  I have a whole bunch of ideas on how to expand my current armies and how to do more painting.  It also comes from wanting to clear some stuff out which I'm not going to use, the first item on my list is a human blood bowl team.  This will be going up on ebay, and hopefully will do as well as the Dwarf team a few years ago did.  I was thinking of names and colours for them, and at first I thought of the usual stock blue or red colour but then I thought I'd also like to challenge myself.  There aren't many models in the team and this looked like a good opportunity to have some fun.

The theme I have come up with is based off the Solland colours; black and yellow.  Quite hard colours but stand out really well next to each other and I have never really painted these colours much.  I was thinking of calling them the  "Solland Sunderers" as a hint to the destruction of their homeland.  According to the Empire Heraldry book which I got a look at the other day a big icon of Solland is a sun, the middle of which might be a cross or a plain sun.  I think this would look really cool on the shoulders of the team.  So I'm going to do a little playing about to practice and get the freehand on them looking good.

Alongside this they'll get a set of markers, probably from plasticard.  This being 3x re-rolls, 1x score and 1x turn markers.  I have some ideas, but I was thinking the turn marker might look cool if it was the teams badge, I'm currently unsure of what to do for the others.

As well as these, I have some painted mins I can part with.  It might be a case that I do a post on some forums for a week or two, if they don't sell then they will go up on ebay.

I'm excited to have an idea!  Just the move to sort out now.

Auction Over

Well, I would happily like to report that my Dwarf Blood Bowl team raised me a total of £57. =D  My first personal ebay auction and I think it worked out quite well.

Wednesday, 30 June 2010

I would just like to point out that the dwarf blood bowl team is up on ebay still, with just over three days left.  If you'd like to own them, then please bid!  They are currently going for a slightly disheartening £21.  :(

Blood Bowl Dwarfs, Complete!

I finally finished these little fellows.  The team currently stands at 12 players, 1 star player, 4 markers.  I also have better pictures of the players, to be used for the ebay sale.  I will not get around to this for another few weeks, next week is packing and moving week.  So, this might be my last bit of painting for a short while.  :(  That aside... the markers:

And a better shot of the 'Turn' marker's wood grain:

I am still getting the hang of woodgrain.  It looks decent this time though, so I am quite pleased.

Overall, I am really pleased with how they have turned out.  The entire team is good for a tabletop quality to me.  I hope it sells.  I will be back with a link to the ebay auction when it is up and ready. :)

Blood Bowl Dwarfs, the full team

Just a quick picture of the full team.  Just the icons missing, which are now undercoated.

Dwarf Blood Bowl Team - Star Player Grim Ironjaw

The final player has been completed, the dwarf star player Grim Ironjaw.  I enjoyed painting him, he was quick to do as well.  I really liked the skin, I am getting a bit better at it look right, I think.

Dwarf Blood Bowl Team - slayer

Right.  The final player in the boxed set.  The slayer.  Following this is the Star Player and 'markers'.  Overall I am quite happy with him, for a quick and tabletop level painting.  The blood is only really on one hand because I tried it on the other and it just didn't look right.  There are a little bit of remains to hint at his use of the hand.

Blood Bowl Dwarfs, More!

I have been delayed in painting over the last few days, mostly due to the X-box.  Having finished my degree (just awaiting results and then graduation) I have nothing to do for a month.  Not being able to play much on the machine I recently purchased two games.  Halo3 - ODST and Dragon Age Origins.  Both great and I am really loving Dragon Age, being a huge fan of fantasy and RPGs.  So yeah...  However just to show I am doing stuff... I come bearing images!

All that is left now is the slayer and the star player slayer.  Then on to the few extras.  I have a good idea on how I want to do the "Score" and the "Turn" markers, but the "re-roll" ones I cannot think of something good except barrels and I do not own any fantasy-esk ones.  Ideas?

Dwarf Blood Bowl Team

So, with university practically over now I have a good few weeks before I have to move out to get some painting done.  I started on the next batch of dwarf players.  This is three longbeards/blockers and one blitzer.  Overall I am happier with them, they turned out much better than the previous four.  The only thing that might spoil them is the numbers.  I decided to do them as dwarf numerals, they go into tally style from five upwards.  They look OK, but might go back and repaint the pads with a more traditional numbers instead.  Not sure yet.

Anyway....

Blood Bowl Dwarfs

Ok, well I have done my first four dwarfs of the team and well... they're OK. I really dislike the models themselves but want to get them done out the way. So they are painted pretty much to tabletop level. I have left one shoulder pad free for the 'owner' to paint a symbol or add a transfer themselves. So yeah. Lets have it then...

LOBBA is a go!

So, on my home forum of Librarium-Online.com we have now begun an online Blood Bowl league. This is done via FUMBBL.com, a great site for playing an older edition of the game online using nothing but a java program. It has begun as of tonight and will run for about three months, so you may well end up hearing stuff about this on my blog now.

I am quite excited about this, for it will be another thing I have added to the forum and organised. Also, it adds another notch on my experience belt of the hobby. Not quite the same as a table-top version, I'm sure but its something.

So, for those interested here are two links. You should be able to keep up to date with things and view things. I hope so anyway. =)

LOBBA season I
Forum Thread

In other news, I am still trying to consider dwarf colour schemes. I want to steer away from the typical ones, like I said in my previous post but coming up with a suitable scheme seems more than hard at the moment. =/ And thanks for the comments about the fantasy blog hub. I dunno if it be a good idea, but its something to consider.

Tis a bloody game...

And tis why its called Blood Bowl. =D

Over the last few days I have submersed myself in Blood Bowlness. It started the other night when I spotted that I had a bookmark for a website called FUMBBL. I signed up and made a team. If you are unsure what this site is, let me tell you... its a method for playing BB games online - a lot like vassal - without the requirement for a table/board or minis or even rolling dice. Its fun, played two games and suck badly (0-3 losses both times), but I'm still getting use to it. Also, they use LRB4, rather than LRB5.

Been playing an orc team, so far done nothing spectactular except fail. Though, one of my four Black Orc Blockers now have the 'Block' skill. Making him even better - S4 + Block.

I need to pay attention to stats and my movement again. I made some terrible mistakes in those two games - often revolving around me trying to dodge. Or failing at blocking. I need to do some reading and learn a bit more.

All this leads up to me wanting to organise a BB FUMBBL based league on LO. I'm hoping to get support, but if it works it could be fun - especially as we could do a lot with it. Awards for teams, teams an LO tournament. I just need to figure out the details etc. It would be a lot of fun.

Damnit. I wanna play BB in person now. I have plans to convert myself a nice orc team, even though I already possess a stripped dwarf team from the boxed set. A project for a later date.

Hey... how about a blogsphere FUMBBL BB league? -__^ hehe. Ideas..ideas...
