As per my last post I have recenly moved from a small flat with the girlfriend to a huge three bedroom house. I was excited to have a gaming room all to myself to paint in and such but due to issues we still haven't gotten around to unpacking and sorting that out just yet. I'm looking forward to it, but have decided that I am more likely to paint downstairs so that room will be out gaming room. Oh yes, our. We have a sofa up there and will be looking for a table big enough to support a gaming board. The girl friend and I do like playing boardgames (myself more than her) and so having somewhere I can go out of the way to play them, is awesome. But it also means that I'm looking to get a gaming table, and thus terrain. This would be one of my first tables I will have. Looking forward to that project. And cupboards to display the armies, not hidden away. :D
But what does this have to do with the Dwarfs? I realised I had these ten left over from before the move and rather than just jump onto a new project, I might as well finish them. Turns out, it didn't take long. So, with these ten my dwarf army is at 2500pts. I am not amazingly happy with the list, so will still be adding models and units to expand it, but it is a decent start.
I have another project lined up, but next week I am off to France for a week with the girl friend, so maybe the week after you'll see pictures. Watch out for twitter and here! But for now, the dwarfs are done.

On to the next project
It has been a while since I have painted anything, and will be at least another week but I have a project in mind. This Tuesday I move into a house with the girl friend (rented still) and it has an awesome little room that is going to be a 'study' aka my geek room. :D So this week has been full of boxes and bags as we're trying to get everything sorted out and ready.
But this hasn't stopped me making plans! I have a whole bunch of ideas on how to expand my current armies and how to do more painting. It also comes from wanting to clear some stuff out which I'm not going to use, the first item on my list is a human blood bowl team. This will be going up on ebay, and hopefully will do as well as the Dwarf team a few years ago did. I was thinking of names and colours for them, and at first I thought of the usual stock blue or red colour but then I thought I'd also like to challenge myself. There aren't many models in the team and this looked like a good opportunity to have some fun.
The theme I have come up with is based off the Solland colours; black and yellow. Quite hard colours but stand out really well next to each other and I have never really painted these colours much. I was thinking of calling them the "Solland Sunderers" as a hint to the destruction of their homeland. According to the Empire Heraldry book which I got a look at the other day a big icon of Solland is a sun, the middle of which might be a cross or a plain sun. I think this would look really cool on the shoulders of the team. So I'm going to do a little playing about to practice and get the freehand on them looking good.
Alongside this they'll get a set of markers, probably from plasticard. This being 3x re-rolls, 1x score and 1x turn markers. I have some ideas, but I was thinking the turn marker might look cool if it was the teams badge, I'm currently unsure of what to do for the others.
As well as these, I have some painted mins I can part with. It might be a case that I do a post on some forums for a week or two, if they don't sell then they will go up on ebay.
I'm excited to have an idea! Just the move to sort out now.

[Review] Battle Scribe
Everyone who is in to gaming has a need for certain items, a very important item for us all is the army list. Without it, our models are just a vague mass of points with vague options. The traditional manner has always been on a bit of paper, either printed up nice and neatly or quickly scribbled on the back of a napkin. It took no time at all for people to start making programs to be used on computers for army lists. My traditional manner has been to use excel all nice and neatly laid out with cells doing the calculations for totals, points remaining and on the fantasy side, percentages.

The LO Meet 2012
For the last eight years my home forum on the interwebs, Librarium-Online.com, has held an annual gathering at Warhammer World (WHW). Each year we get members to turn up and just have fun playing games.
This year was no exception, we are missing the odd member her but this the gamers from the weekend.
