Today's card features my most favorite stamp set from Newton's Nook ever!! "Shark Bites". I also used the "Hills and Grass"stencil to create my water. I would sooooo love to see some of you use this stamp set during this challenge if you have it!!

Frenzy of Fun

The last day of February and Lent starts Wednesday. Time marches on. It has been 6 months since I left my job and I gotta say I have never been so happy. It's a pleasure to get up in the morning and to look at my calendar to see what day of the week it is!

Today starts a new challenge at Inky Paws. We would like to see what you do with are sketch this week. This sketch was a bit tough for me, so I can't wait to see what you guys do with it!

Today's card features my favorite set from Newton's Nook- "Shark Bites" as well as the companion set "Shark Frenzy" The dry embossing on the background panel was done with the "Wave" stencil.

A shiver of sharks

How is your year going so far everyone? Mine has been pretty much the same as the end of 2021. I am keeping a low profile with the Covid surge. The hospital systems in my area are struggling, between the patient load and staff out with Covid it's difficult. The medical folk continue to be the true heroes through all of this.

You have one more week to play along at Inky Paws for our color challenge. Candy red, white, brown, and grey. 

Some of my favorite stamp sets from Newton's Nook are the shark sets. "Shark Frenzy" is a relatively new addition. A group of sharks can be called a "frenzy of sharks", but they can also she called a "shiver of sharks". I love that. My card also uses the waves stencil and tag die set all from Newton's Nook.

My crafting goal for this year is to stamp the inside of my cards as I make them. That way when I go to grab a card at the last minute, I am not scrambling to put the sentiment inside and perhaps I can make a fun inside like this. I challenge all of you who are like me to do the same.

Bigger boat

All my teamies at Inky Paws know my favorite Newton Nook stamp set is "Shark Bites".  I have used it more often for challenges at Inky Paws than any other Newton's Nook. Yet I never had the "Shark Frenzy" stamp set. When I saw the sketch for our next challenge at Inky Paws, I quickly placed an order for this awesome stamp! It was going to fit the sketch perfectly!

Sometimes sketch challenges throw me off. I have the worse time with them. But this one I had all kinds of ideas floating around.

Today starts a new challenge at Inky Paws. It is an awesome challenge- one we have never done before. We want you to use your favorite Newton's Nook stamp set. I just love this idea. But the hard part is how can I narrow down my favorite stamp set.

I decided to go back and see what was truly my "go to" stamp set. While I absolutely adore all of the Newton stamps, for some reason the stamp set that I have used the most over the past few years is "Shark Bites". Not sure why I love this set but I always find something fun to do with it.

Today's card has my grinning shark swimming through "Waves and Splashes" stencil also from Newton's Nook.

Sharks again!!!!

I am sure you all are thinking...."oh no, not sharks again!!" For some reason "Shark Bites" from Newton's Nook seems to be one of my go to sets of stamps. And not surprising I grabbed it for the bold summery color challenge happening at Inky Paws.

 Who doesn't love red, pink, orange, and yellow sharks!!  They don't seem so menacing in these vibrant colors!

Happy Monday! Time for a new challenge at Inky Paws! It was awesome to see how many of you that joined in the fun for our last challenge. Lots of great cards.

Today's challenge was a challenge for me. We are asking you to use polka dots in your work. Now I just love polka dots, but was having trouble figuring out how that would fit into Newton's Nook stamps and dies. So what did I do? I cheated and did paper piecing. 

I have a couple of go to stamp sets and "Shark Bites" from Newton's Nook is one of them. The grey polka dot sharks make me laugh. The waves were also from NN.

How many remember seeing the original Jaws circa 1975 in the movie theater? It was so scary.

Here is a clip of the trailer from the original. My card today is a bit less scary....I mean how can you be frightened of a pink shark?

I used Newton's Nook's "shark bites" for my card today. while you might think sharks wou;d only be for guys, lots of gals like sharks too and this card will be going to someone special.

That bites!

It's Monday and that means another Inky Paws Challenge over at Newton's Nook. Today's challenge is to add sparkle to your design.

Well.... I suppose the obvious is to go with a holiday theme card, but I decided to up the ante on the theme by randomly picking a NN stamp set and challengeing myself to use that set.

Rut ro! I pulled Shark Bites!! How was I to bedazzle a shark? Well..... by doing just that sparkling the shark itself.

I kept the card very CAS to really make the shark stand out. I gotta say, I think it is effective. What about you?
