Pink Dinos

My good buddy Margarita thinks pink is the "most beautiful color in the world". While I happen to love green, I am partial to pink also. Pink was my mom's favorite color. I was a change of life baby with two older brothers. My mom never expected to have another kid, let alone a girl. Needless to say I had almost exclusively pink wardrobe.

So I was excited for the new pink color challenge at The Rainbow Card Challenge. I decided to have fun with this challenge and go a bit crazy. I know most of you are thinking pink and flowers in the same breath, but I wanted to go in completely different direction.

Like many of you, I have really downsized the wooden stamps I own, but there are a few that I cannot part with. This card fearurestwo of those "have to keep" wooden stamps. Both from Hero Arts. They are so old, I cannot even find them on the net anywhere.

This is a great card for anyone and the best thing is that it would look good in any color.

This month's music inspiration is a classic from John Mellencamp, "Pink Houses".

So get your pink on and join us for a perfectly pink challenge over at the Rainbow Card Challenge.  You have all month to play along!!

Pinkalicious

School started last night, but I am still going to keep crafting. I don't thinkthis class will be quite as challenging as my last.

I created today's card for the challenge at Addicted to CAS. They want you to use pink! Well that is a no brainer. My Mom's favorite color was pink. She loved it so much that my brothers and I knew she had to be buried in a pink coffin!!! Who knew there was such a thing!

Anyway I digress. Not only did my mom love pink, but my crafting buddy Margarita says all the time- "Pink is the most beautiful color in the world!!". This card is for her, especiallty since she has a birthday coming up next week.

The flamingo and sentiments are from a no longer available set from Reverse Confetti. Are flamingos no longer popular? I seem to be a day late and a dollar short with these stamping trends!! 😀

I used a new Tim Holtz stencil for the background. It seems to be my go to stencil lately.

I even finished the inside of the card. I liked this card so much I made it in turquoise and might it in yellow.

There is only one day left for this pink challenge at Addicted to CAS, if you have time check it out!!

Shopping my Stash

The new challenge at Simply Create Too is to "shop your stash". I wasn't quite sure what that meant. I even had to ask. Basically, it means using what you have and not buying something new. At least I think that is what they said.

For me, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to use only what I have in in scrap bins. As you can see I have a lot of scraps saved! My cards today were made totally from the scraps in these bins. the only thing I stamped for these cards were the sentiments.

This challenge is the your opportunity to show us at Simply Create Too what you can make with your left overs! So get out your carts and shop your stash!!
