Garden Panda

My friend Rachel just opened her store Hope Stamps Eternal back up. WooHoo!!! I'm so excited and happy for her. I use to order from her store all the time. She carries an assortment of great products and has excellent customer service. She has a sale going on until Mar. 31st, so be sure to look for the discount code!! I wanted to play along with this week's Mojo Challenge. It's such a fabulous layout and I know I will use it again! I used the new Rhubarb Tart paper by Memory Box. I LOVE the colors in this collection. I paired it with this adorable Garden Panda stamp. I just love pandas and this one make me smile. I paper pieced all of the colors on, then took a Copic C1 and added some shading around his face. I got that idea from this post by Rainy. The little leaf is another new punch by EK Success called Rock Fern. It matched the Memory Box paper perfectly. Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: Garden Panda, Floral Frenzy (PTI)
Paper: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Memory Box Rhubarb Tart, TAC White
Ink: Palette Noir & Burnt Umber
Other: circle Nesties, Copic C1, Kraft Taffeta, K&Co. pearls, dimensional, EK Success Rock Fern punch

Kris' Kit

This is the kit that Kris sent. I absolutely love how this card turned out. I love the layers and how such a small image ended up not looking so tiny on a big card. I followed Mojo 72 for the layout. For the little Memory Box penguin, I colored everything in with Koh-i-noor pencils. I then cut out the heart and raised it with a dimensional. I went over the heart and rose with Bubble Gum Shimmerz. I kinda goofed up in a good way on the button. I put too much Crystal Effects on it when I went glue it down, so it was everywhere. The good thing is, to fix it I just covered the entire button with Crystal Effects. Then to make it look like it fit in with the rest of the card, I went over the heart and rose with Crystal Effects too. You can still see the Shimmerz underneath it!! For the sentiment, I cut out some circles with my Nesties. I then inked up one of the hearts from Papertrey Ink's Heart Prints set and stamped it with Fresh Snow. It gave a very faded, but perfectly outlined heart on the pattern paper. To view all of the cards made with this kit, click here.

Stamps: Memory Box penguin, Heart Prints (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Basic Grey Bittersweet, Regal Rose, Basic Black, PTI white
Ink: Brilliance Graphite, Fresh Snow (PTI)
Other: black Scrapper's Floss, Basic Grey Bittersweet button, dimensional, word window punch, circle Nesties, scallop scissors, Koh-i-noor pencils, Bubble Gum Shimmerz, Crystal Effects, Doodlebug stitched grosgrain, Cuttlebug folder

Stuff for Anna

I mentioned last Friday that we had our LOSTie secret sister reveal online. I just wanted to take a minute and show y'all the items I made for my sis, Anna. Keep in mind everything has a LOST and a 12 Days of Christmas reference. So I did my homework and watched the first 12 episodes of Season 1 and came up with something to give her. Here are my favs. Episode 12 shows Kate & Sawyer diving for a suitcase. So since this was the last thing she opened, I included a little lunch tin that had a reveal card in it, a bunch of Wish RAK images and these altered blocks. I used this fabulous tutorial by Emily. On the back side, it says LOST. Paper is Lilly Anna by TAC.

Episode 11 shows Jack' dad getting canned for being intoxicated during an operation. So I included a tin FULL of drink stickers. The tin is actually the box that the SU Flower Fusion comes in. I also used the Lilly Anna paper from TAC. Stickers can be found at Michaels.

Episode 6 shows Charlie stepping on a beehive and saying, "I have an irrational fear of bees". So I told Anna that not all bees are bad, especially when they come in lip balm form! Anyone that knows me, knows that I LOVE Burt's Bees products. So I found this adorable tutorial on SCS for a lip balm holder. Image is by Memory Box. Paper is from the Lilly Anna collection by TAC. Sentiment is from A Muse. I used my Nestabilities on the main image.

Episode 5 showed Jack crying, a lot. We always make fun of the poor Dr. because he does shed quite a few tears on the show. So I made Anna a little tissue carrier. I found the directions on SCS under the Fan Club Dirty Dozen Patterns.Paper is from TAC's Lilly Anna collections. Stamps used: LE Little Curls (TAC), Very Punny. I colored in the bird with Koh-i-noor pencils and OMS.

In Episode 2, we see Jin preparing Sushi for everyone on the island. So I found this fun idea here and made Anna some candy Sushi. Ross doesn't recommend tasting it, LOL. On the top of the tin, I made a little label using the Sushi set from A Muse.

I also created a 12 days of Christmas song that went along with each episode. It went a little something like this:
12 festering magots
11 shots of whiskey
10 blood curdling screams
9 hole game
8 rippling ab muscles
7 bags of crack
6 string guitar
5 hallucinations
4 boars a running
3 Oceanic waterbottles
2 pieces of plane a fallin'
and a pilot in an island tree

Now if you watch each of those episodes it will all make sense, LOL. This is what I did for each of the other episodes in case you're wondering:
Episode 1 showed Locke giving Kate a "orange" smile so I included a pack of Orange Crush Jelly Belly candies. I included a whistle for Episode 3 because it had Locke whittling a whistle to find Vincent. In Episode 4, we get a scary closeup of Sayid's crazy long fingernails. So I put a nail file in there for her. Episode 7 we saw people going to Sawyer to ask him for stuff from his stash. So I included a tin that was full of my favorite things from my stash. Episode 8 has one of my all time favorite scenes, with Charlie, Claire and the idea of Peanut Butter. I gave Anna a empty mason jar and inside it had a slip of paper with Charlie's quote, "Full to the brim with stick to the roof of your mouth, oh God, make you want a glass of milk, extra smooth... it's the best bloody Peanut Butter I've ever tasted". Episode 9 shows Michael sketching out an aquaduct. So I got Anna a mini sketch book and included some of my favorite sketched in it. Finally Episode 10 had a scene where Charlie found Claire in the forest and he brought her a cup of tea and said, " What separates us from these savage yanks if we can't drink tea". So I included 2 boxes of my favorite tea. Okay sorry for the crazy long post, but I had such a blast getting creative and putting this all together for Anna. Thanks again for hosting such a great round DUDE!

Sky's the Limit

How cute is Julee's Mojo Monday Challenge!! LOVE this layout, but then again I say that about all of her sketches :) I was trying to figure out what stamp to use that was small enough to fit in my circle when I spotted this adorable Memory Box penguin sitting on my desk. BINGO! Doesn't he make you giggle and scream out, "Tower, this is ghost rider requesting a flyby". Yep, I've watched Top Gun too much! My little Aviator is stamped with Palette Noir. I then colored him in with my Koh-i-noor pencils and OMS. I added Crystal Effects to the lens to make them look like real glasses. I cut him out using my circle Coluzzle. Then glued him on orange Bazzill and cut that circle out, very carefully, by hand. The entire image is raised with a dimensional. I stamped the sentiment on Whisper White and cut it out with my Word Window punch. I poked some holes along the top of the orange panel with my mat pack and paper piercer. Then drew some faux stitches with my white gel pen. Thanks so much for the wonderful challenge and inspiration Julee!

Stamps: Aviator Penguin & sentiment (Memory Box)

Posey Penguin

Julee did it again. She posted another fabulous Mojo Monday challenge this week. This layout is so cool and could really work for a lot of images. My friend Cindy suggested this color combo to me weeks ago. I wrote it down on a piece of paper and it got lost on my desk. Imagine that! So while I was moving things around today, notice I didn't say cleaning up :), I found my little reminder and decided to give it a shot. Cindy you were right! I love these colors together. I'm definitely saving it so I can use it again!! I found this adorable little image in my Wish-RAK pile and I thought he would work perfectly for a Thinking of You card. It's hard to see in the photo, but he is outlined with a Tombow Pastel Blue marker to make him stand out against the white. The image is cut out with my Lg. Classic Rectangle and Lg. Classic Scallop Rectangle Nestabilities. The Whisper White and Bashful Blue background are embossed with the Textile Cuttlebug folder. The Regal Rose strip is stamped with the Linen backgroung. The sentiment is punched out with a 1 1/4" circle punch and raised with a dimensional. To spruce up the photo corners, I added a black brad. Julee thanks for the wonderful sketch and Cindy thanks for the awesome color combo!!
