Mom's Birthday Cards 2010

I just received one of my new stamp sets from Kitchen Sink Stamps (Thanks, Mary!!)

Lilacs are absolutely my very favorite flowers so I just had to have this stamp set. After working with the layers for awhile, I cut the purple and white background layers from one of my Nestabilities sets, and set to stamping!

The purple lilacs in the yard always smelled the absolute best and were always my favorite. I miss seeing them in the spring.

Here on the inside of the card is another set of layered stamps to make the May flower: Lily of the Valley.

I saw this card on the Cricut Messageboard, and had to give it a try!!
The cone and all parts are cut from the Sweet Treats cart at 4 1/2 inches. Each piece is then run through the embossing folder Argyle for the cone, or Divine Swirls for the ice cream.
I used my Stampin' Up Slot punch to make the jimmies, and one of my SU stamp sets for the sentiment. The 3/4 inch circle cut the cherry for the top perfectly.

Happy Birthday Mom!!! Sorry we couldn't be there this year, but we'll see you soon!
Love, Sue and Bennie

Birthday Bouquet!

This is a Birthday bouquet for a 1 year old's birthday party! His mother is a co-worker of mine, and she's totally into cupcakes! When she showed me the plates and theme for his party, I knew the sweet treats cart would be PERFECT!!!! She even had the perfect container to use for the bouquet, so I borrowed it and will give it back to her looking like this!

One unusual thing: the colors for this party are:
Royal Blue
Lime Green
Aqua
and Yellow (with a little red thrown in)

I embossed each of the letters in Ryker's name with the Happy Birthday cuttlebug folder - I'm not sure if you can see it in the pictures.

The letters are from the Mickey Font cart, and all the cupcakes and the 1 for his first birthday are all from the Sweet Treats cart!

January Birthdays

My sister and her oldest son both have birthdays in January. I sent her a card, and a set of 12 cards for her Stationery Box (last year's gift) as refills. I think these are better than the first ones I sent... I hope she likes them!

These are the 'refill' cards for my sister's stationery box.

This is the card I made for my oldest nephew's birthday which is coming soon!! This cut is Cupcake4. It's going to get lots of use!!

Here's the inside view of his card.

He's doing post-grad work, so I thought the greens and browns would be good colors for his age group. Blues are always good for male cards, but I wanted to try something different. I hope he likes it!!

Birthday Card for My Favorite Uncle

My very favorite uncle's birthday is coming up this week, and I wanted to make him a VERY special birthday card....I didn't want to make it too fancy, but I wanted it to be special! The blues and browns really work well together in person. I like how the 'plain' front doesn't give away the very busy inside of the card.

I used LOTS of techniques, and my NEW cricut cartridge, Sweet Treats! My husband got blackmailed into buying for me (tee hee) so I thought I'd start making good use of it.

If you look closely at the cake and cakestand, I used the "new" Stampin' Up shimmer paints in Champagne Mist. When it dried on the blue and beige cardstock, it looked SO nice!!!

Products I used:
PK Glitz Indigo Embossing Powder
Sweet Treats DCWV cardstock
Hobby Lobby cardstock in lt. blue, dk. blue, beige, dk. brown, and white
2 Stampin' Up stamps, and 1 Hobby Lobby stamp
1 Stampin' Up punch, and the
Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page punches
Stampin' Up marker to color the cherry
Scor-Pal to score the vertical lines
Versamark pad
Cocoa Bean Brilliance Ink pad
Sky Blue Brilliance Ink pad
Cricut Cart - Jasmine for the photo corners
Cricut Cart - Sweet Treats for the cake stand and cake
