Oh Whale

Oh Whale is a new stamp set in the Spring Catalog.  It's so adorable!  We made this card at last Saturday's workshop.  It features a lot of new products from the Spring Catalog.  I think this whale is absolutely adorable!  I've seen someone make him into an orca already.  I'm going to have to try that one!  I'll let you know if I'm successful.  This card is made in Bashful Blue and Marina Mist with the addition of the Polka Dots DP.  Super fun and pretty easy.  A rhinestone and 1/8" Marina Mist Taffeta finish it off.  Here are the other products used:
Oh, Whale!

Oh, Waves! Stampin' Around Wheel

Ovals Framelits

Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack

Whale Clearlit
So, what do you think?  I'm sold on all of this stuff!  And yes, I do have more plans for this set.  I designed this card so that I could change the greeting in to congratulations and used it for a baby shower gift last night.  I could easily use it for birthdays and masculine cards, too.  That's what I really appreciate ... a versatile set!

Thanks for stopping by the Stamping Station once again.  I hope you've enjoyed your visit!

Blessings,
Julie

p.s.  Sharon, this is going to be one of your swaps.  I hope that's ok.  Any other demos want to swap some Spring and SAB cards?

Happy Birthday with a Valentine Set

This is a card that we made at a workshop in November.  Yes, the stamp set was in the Holiday catalog, so I don't believe it's available right now, but I wanted to show you that you can make fun birthday cards with Valentine sets.  Framelits cut out the two label shapes, we used the Piercing Mats to punch around the inside of the Very Vanilla frame.  The colors are Island Indigo, Raspberry Ripple, and Summer Starfruit.  The gate card is easiest to make when you use the Simply Scored and score on the 2 3/4" and 8 1/4" lines.  (I hope I got that right!)  What fun things have you made with your Big Shot and new stamp sets lately?

And Sale-A-Bration is here!  It starts today.  Click on this link to the details of the sale.  It's a wonderful time to be a hostess and to purchase.  I'm planning on updated a lot of my ink pads and get the extra credit from that sale.  How are you planning on Sale-A-Brating?

Thanks for stopping by the Stamping Station again.

Blessings!
Julie

Combined Challenges and Raspberry Tart DSP

Yes, I'm a little behind on the TAWC. Sharon gave us this challenge almost a month ago. We were to use grays and only one other color. We were also allowed to add a neutral. Since I only have Basic Gray and no Going Gray cardstock, I used brushed silver instead. The Raspberry Tart really draws the eye on this background. I've also included two challenges from Stampin' Addicts: Sketch Challenge 10 and Accessories Challenge 10. I crimped the main cardstock instead of using ribbon, paper pierced the side of the Whisper White cardstock and used the faux stitching technique, and the sketch is obviously from the challenge and was inspired by the card on page 4 of the Fall/Winter 2008 Idea Book and Catalog. The flower is the Simple Flower embosslit, sent through the Big Shot with the Raspberry Tart DSP. The swirls behind are from the Swirls Scribbles Sizzlit. I added the half pearl from the Pretties Kit (Wow, do I love those! They really make a project pop!) and some square Fire Rhinestone Brads to finish it all off.

Thanks for stopping by the Stamping Station. Let me know how you're doing and if anything here inspired your own creations. I'd love to see them!

Blessings,
Julie

Masculine TAWC For This Week

Joanne is the hostess this week for the Three Amigas. Our chal- lenge from her is to make a mas- culine card with browns and blues. I combined the challenge with the sketch challenge for today at SCS to kill two birds with one stone...except that I was stamping at 1 am and I forgot one of the layers of the sketch! Ouch! And so, out of desperation due to my computer woes, I'm posting it anyway! The colors here aren't very true, even after I adjusted them, due to taking the pic at 1:30 am and having to use a flash.
I stamped the mugs on the background Cocoa cardstock, sent it through the Big Shot with my SU! texturz plate, then sponged some color lightly across the texture to highlight the raised diamond pattern. After stampin the mug and words on the Whisper White, I colored the mug with my Mustard SU marker, sponged the edges of the cardstock with Brocade Blue, paper pierced the edges, then connected the dots with the fine side of my Cocoa SU marker to give it the faux sewing look. The brads are from the retired Vintage Brads set. I kind of miss that copper look in the new Vintage Brads. I think it works well here.
Supplies: Cheers To You stamp set. Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Brocade Blue, Whisper White cardstocks. Bella Rose DP. Paper piercer & template, SU markers, Vintage Brads, SU texturz plate, Big Shot, Sponge.
Once again, thanks for stopping by the Stamping Station. I wish you many hours of enjoyable stamping.
Blessings,
Julie
p.s. here's a teaser. Next week, easy scrapbooking for the scrapbooking challenged stampers...
