Watercoloring With Markers

It has been such a crazy week! So today, I promised myself that I would take time to stamp. And I did it! I made this card for a challenge that a couple of friends and I do weekly. This week's challenge was to use markers in an unusual way. I stamped my poppy in StazOn Black on a square of watercolor paper. After using my marker on some highlighted areas of the card, I spread the color around with an Aquapainter. I used the marker to outline the edges and spread that in, though it's hard to see in this photo. After stamping the Elegantly Eggplant background with Baroque Motifs in Perfect Plum. Why use a different shade of purple? To make it a more subtle color, without going as light as VersaMark. The scallop edge punch and paper piercer were used on the bottom edge with a piece of black glued on behind it, on the inside of the card. I used a piece of Bashful Blue taffeta across the black cardstock and square Ice Rhinestone Brads for embellishment.

Supplies: Eggplant, Black, Artichoke, and watercolor cardstocks. Black Stazon. Artichoke, Perfect Plum, Brocade Blue Markers. Baroque Motifs and Bloomin' Wonderful stamp sets. Bashful Blue Taffeta, Ice Rhinestone Brads, Aquapainter, Scallop Edge Punch, Paper Piercer & Foam Mat.
