Happy 50th Anniversary Mom & Dad!

Memorable Moments
Yes, my parents just celebrated their 50th anniversary!  Well, you have to make a pretty special card when that happens!  I got out my gold and found true love with my Memorable Moments stamp set.  I bought that set earlier last summer to help make the table centerpieces for her daughter's wedding and here they are, coming in handy again.  Sorry about the color on this one.  It was a bright day and the picture turned out a little off.  In the background of the birds you'll notice that I used my brushed gold cardstock.  So pretty!  The frame is made from Cherry Cobbler and an Apothecary Framelit.  The birds are punched out of some retired Riding Hood Red and the wings are from a flocked piece of retired Christmas DP.  I used one block to place all of the words and letters onto, then stamped it down once on a scrap paper to make sure they were all lined up, then inked in VersaMark and heat embossed with my gold embossing powder.  Yes, I do only use the Stampin' Up! embossing powder because I want to make sure it's fine enough to get all of the details.  So, what do you think of this one?  I'd love to hear.

Thanks for stopping by the Stamping Station.  Now, let's bring on Thanksgiving and Christmas!

Blessings,
Julie

Wedded Bliss

Embellished Events, Everything Eleanor, Petite Pairs
Yes, wedded bliss.  That is what a daughter of our church was just blessed with.  As a community, we celebrated with her at a bridal shower.  I just love those occasions!  Unfortunately, I couldn't make it to this one, but sent the gift along.  Yes, the gift is the card.  Oh, first I have to tell you about the front here.  Well, the circle was stamped with the Everything Eleanor stamp after I markered only the outside.  I didn't want the lines on the inside.  The bells are from the Embellished Events stamp set.  They were first inked in VersaMark, then inked in Crumb Cake, then stamped down.  I used my Iridescent Ice embossing powder to make it show up darker and shiny.  The doily sizzlit is such a nice frame for these stamps.  Best Wishes is from the Petite Pairs stamp set.
Apothecary Accents
And then the inside.  yes, that is a gift card holder as part of the card.  I saw that someone made a card out of a 12 x 5 1/2 piece of cardstock.  Well, I figured this would be a lot easier.  I took a 3" wide piece of cardstock and scored it at 1/2", 1 1/2", & 2 1/2".  After that I punched an extra long slit with my word window punch.  The edges are attached to both sides of the inside of the card with Sticky Strip.  I also put a bit of Sticky Strip next to the opening holding of the gift card so that it would tightly hold the card.  So, what do you think?  I kinda like it.  :-)  This way the gift cards don't slide all over or fall out of a pocket.

Thanks for stopping by the Stamping Station.  Many fun hours of crafting to you!

Blessings,
Julie

Sketched Birthday Love

Sketched Birthday, Bitty Banners
Here's something a little different.  I used the new Sketched Birthday set with the wonderful new In-Color Crisp Cantaloupe.  Isn't that a pretty color?  Oh, and who can resist that ruffled ribbon?!  The cake is stamped on watercolor paper with StazOn Jet Black and then colored in with Chocolate Chip, Crisp Cantaloupe and So Saffron.  The plate has a touch of Smoky Slate.  So, what new stamping toys have you been playing with lately?  :-D

Thanks for stopping by.  Would love to hear from you.  :-)

Blessings,
Julie

Roller Derby Time!

Six-Sided Sampler, Crushed Curry, Basic Black, Whisper White

Seriously!  No, not for me.  For my sweet friend.  She was picked up by one of the Seattle Rat Pack teams.  How fun is that?!  So yes, I had to make her a card to congratulate her.  These are her team colors.  The greeting is from the Six-Sided Sampler set.  Isn't that cute?  The skate was made with the retired stocking die from Stampin' Up!'s catalog two years ago.  Just cut off the bottom of it.  The brake is the retired file tab punch.  I used crochet thread and braided three strands to get the strings.  Oval punch and circle punches later, voila!

Ok, so I'm seriously behind on posting from the pics that I've already taken and totally behind on getting new pics taken.  Ummmm...having trouble finding the charger for my camera, too.  Maybe Christmas should come sooner so that Santa can be good to me and replace my 14 yr old camera that's dying.  :-D

Well, thanks for stopping by.  Looking forward to seeing you again soon!

Blessings,
Julie
