My Daughter's Wedding-not craft related

Today I have a non-craft related post.
My daughter got married last Sunday and I wanted to share some of the pictures with my followers.

She married her High School Sweetheart.  He is in the enlisted to officer training program with the US Navy.
Got to love a man in a uniform!
My son is the groomsman standing next to her husband.

The bridesmaid dresses were so fun!
They were the Versatile type with really long straps so you could be creative with how you actually wore it.

We were going to make the bouquets but we found this place, Budget Bride.
Their "faux" flowers were a great value and they looked beautiful!

Here is the lovely couple after the ceremony!

ok....I do have a little bit of craft related pics to share!

Here is the favor.

I made 110 of these little things!
The box die (Treat slider box) and stamps (Teeny Tags) are from My Creative Time.

This is the Sweetheart Table.
I made the banner and the cute sign was from Hobby Lobby.

These were the signs on the back of their chairs.
I'm sure you recognize the work of the Cricut and the Bow it all!

The tables...we made the centerpieces.  And the table numbers had pictures of the kids at that age...so cute!

And finally....the "cake" that my friend made...

Here's a closer look at her adorable cake topper.

Ok...I've bored you enough.
But if you've stayed this long, I hope you enjoyed the pictures!

Thanks for stopping by!

Grad Girl and a card to share

My daughter graduated high school last night. It was a very nice ceremony and only and hour and a half long!!! Good thing since it was in the football stadium and the sun was out for the entire thing! That's hubby, Tyler, me and Garret. Garret was playing in the band which is why he is so dressed up! We are very proud of her. She has worked hard and was an Honor Grad which means she maintained at least a 4.0 GPA throughout high school. Now we look forward to the next stage of her life. She heads off to Cal Poly SLO in September!

I do have a card to share too! This card is based on the Tuesday morning sketches and has a little bit of dazzle" for the this weeks Cupcake Challenge. This image is from In Style Stamps.

The family is heading out today so after I clean the house I hope to get some stamping done this weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy New Year!

Just returned from the Rose Parade. Had a great time. The weather was beautiful, the floats were amazing and of course I got to watch my kids marching in the Pasadena Honor Band.

Everyone in the house is watching the USC vs. Penn State game so I am going to sneak upstairs to stamp so I should be back to sharing my work tomorrow. But for now I'll share a few pictures from today!

The PCC Band Marching by us...

That's my daughter Tyler (second one in).

Here's my boy, Garret!

Bandfest Bonanza

No posting the last couple of days but no stamping either!

I've been in Pasadena attending two days of "Bandfest". If you're an old band geek like me this is a great way to spend your time. It's held at the Pasadena City College Stadium and it's a big musical celebration. Basically all the marching bands that will be in the Rose parade tomorrow come and perform.

Some of them do their field shows and some just stand out on the field and play. After performing, each of the bands lines up on the track and does their "pass and review" which is the song they will be playing for the TV Cameras on New Years Day.

The Pasadena Honor Band plays at the beginning of all three performances so we went to all three to root the kids on. There were a lot of fabulous bands there but our favorite had to be the Marine Corp band.

The last song they played was Semper Fedelis. Towards the end of the song an announcer spoke in the background and read the Marine Corp motto and while he was speaking these camouflaged soldiers came running out with the flag and created a live memorial!

It was so very touching! If you ever get a chance to see a performance of any of the military bands I would encourage you to do so. It makes you proud to be an American!

I hope you will have a happy and safe New Years. We will be heading to bed early as we have to get up at 2:30 AM to head to Pasadena for the Rose Parade!

Pic's of the kids...

I just have a quick post today.

For my friends that like to keep up on the family news I have a fun picture of the kids from Sunday. They had their uniform fitting/inspection for the Tournament of Roses Honor Band and I was there to snap a picture.

They are having a great time. Daily rehearsals start on Saturday! I am loving that Tyler can drive back and forth to Pasadena this year so I don't have to spend all my vacation hanging out there.

I'll be back tomorrow with a new project to share!

Proud Mom of an Eagle Scout

You've heard me talk about my son in the past. He's 13 (14 in October) and just started high school. He plays trumpet and is really involved in Boy Scouts. He's a really great kid!

We are especially proud of him for achieving his Eagle Scout Rank in June! We held the official Eagle Scout Ceremony on Saturday evening. It was a really nice ceremony and I am glad it's done!

This is a picture of us after the ceremony. The tall guy in the scout uniform is my Brother-in-Law. He's a Assistant Scout Master with my nephews' troop in Sacramento.

At the Reception following the ceremony we set up chocolate fountains with all kinds of goodies for dipping. The Red and Blue fountains are white chocolate with coloring in them. The fountains were a big hit!

Don't worry...I have some stamping stuff to share too! I made a few things for this occasion!

There were several adults who were a part of the ceremony. Garret gave each one of them a Scout coffee cup and I made this tag for each of them.

For the scouts that helped with the flag ceremony, handing out programs, cleaning up, etc. Garret gave them these cool scout pens that light up with a red light. I created these cards and tied a pen to each one.

This is the Thank you card that I made for Garret to send to people who gave him gifts. I made 25 of these and they were pretty quick and easy to make.

and finally....this is the card I made for Garret from us.
I am going to make up some more of these for future Court of Honors so I have them on hand.

I hope you enjoyed all these projects. All the stamps are from Cornish Heritage Farms and use Prism Paper (Twilight Dark, Classic Red, and simply smooth white). I used Copic Markers to color the owl. If you have any specific questions about any of these projects, let me know.

Thanks!

Prom Night

No post yesterday because I spent most of the day helping my daughter get ready for prom. She is only a Sophomore but her boyfriend is a Senior. This is the first real dance she's been too and she was very excited.

They looked perfect together! All she told Chris was that her dress was red. His tux was a perfect match. This is the first page from the "pick up pics" that I have scrapped.

I took pictures all day yesterday as we got ready so I'll do a page on the events leading up to this too.

It's been a while since I have done a layout but with The Rummage Bin Stamps it's so fun to do!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hope you all had a very Happy New Year!

I am back to work today after a crazy week of running Tyler back and forth to Parade rehearsal. we were SO very honored to have her make the Pasadena City College Tournement of Roses Honor Band. The band is made up of 70 Pasadena college students and about 130 High School Students. Over 600 kids auditioned for the 130 spots so it's really cool that she made it. This is a picture of her at 5 AM yesterday morning.
It's been tough for her because she has spent every Sunday since Halloween and everyday from 12/21 till 1/1 (except Christmas eve and Christmas) in Pasadena and totally missed out hanging with friends the first week of winter break. New Years Eve she was tired, frustrated, and upset that she couldn't go to any New Years Eve parties because we had to get up at 3 AM on New Years Day. I encouraged her to get through the parade and then she could say she did it and won't have to do it again if she doesn't want to.

On Saturday and Sunday before New Years, we went to, and she performed at Bandfest. There was one show on Saturday and two on Sunday. Each show her band performed on the field and then 6 other bands who are marching in the Rose Parade each perform. If you're a band geek like me, it's fun to go to.

So, she performed on Saturday, twice on Sunday, had a four hour marching rehearsal on Monday. Finally, it was New Years Day. She said she felt hot, sick, and feaverish right before the parades. We had no idea if it was nerves or if she was really sick but she wasn't going to not march in the parade after all the hard work she put in.

After the parade (six miles long) she was grinning ear to ear and couldn't stop talking about how awesome it was! She said that it was amazing to march in a parade in a band that big and that great sounding and to see the thousands of people lined up and cheering for them as the went by....I think she may be up for it again next year!

It was our first year attending the parade in person, though we have lived in Southern California for 12 years.

It was great seeing all the floats in real life...very different than on TV. If you ever get a chance to spend New Years on Colorado Blvd...you should do it! And for those of you in the cold and snow, it was a very beautiful balmy California day!
Here's a couple of pictures of the floats. My in-laws went home today. I am catching up on real job stuff and plan to head back to the stamping room tomorrow so I should be back to sharing regularly by the end of the week!
I hope you all survived and even enjoyed the holiday season and that you all have a very happy 2008!

Camping Pic's

Finally had a chance to get the camping pictures on the PC. The two bigger kids are mine and the three little girls are the kids second cousins who they met for the first time on this trip. The littlest one who is 5 just loved my 15 year old daughter and just hung on her the whole time!

Pismo has these awesome hills of sand all over the campground. My son Garret brought a bunch of old cardboard from home to try and slide down the hills. It's his California sledding!

Tyler didn't try the sand sledding. But she did pose for this picture for me!

And finally...our dog, Jadie. She is a 2 year old yellow lab and she LOVES camping!
We can't wait to go again!
