  • To qualify to win, all you have to do is hop to each of the designers, leave a comment and return to the ODBD Blog to tell us you completed the hop, and let us know of any difficulties you had along the way.
Here is my first project:

I am in love with these sweet little praying children!  I used the Precious Girl set for my first card.  I also wanted to make my card a little vintage and a little shabby chic!  I use several coordinating sheets of Prima designer paper.  I did lots of sponging and distressing and embossing.  If you will notice, I inked and masked the For you from one of the sentiments and stamped it along the right edge of the card base.
I cut out two diecuts using the ODBD/Spellbinders Antique Labels and Border dies and the ODBD/Spellbinders Recipe Card and Tags dies.  I layered these down on the card base and tucked a little distressed and sponged doily behind the label.  The Bless the Child sentiment is popped up on the tag.  I added seam binding and a Prima flower and leaf to the tag.  After I added the lace, I stamped the little girl, colored her with copic markers and then cut her out.  She is popped up with foam tape as well.  Then I added the row of rhinestones to complete the card!

And here is my second card:

I kept the vintage/shabby look going for this card, which features the new Home of the Free set!  The background was created with the Old Flag Background. I sponged ink on the flag using masks for the stripes.  Then I embossed it with the SU! folder and distressed the edges.  Next, I lightly coated it with white acrylic paint.

I cut out the Spellbinders hearts, sponged them and added to the card base.  I colored the eagle with copics and cut him out.  Then I stamped the stars and cut them out.  The banner is from Memory Box.  I masked each letter from the AMERICA sentiment to create the banner.  I added lace and beautiful gingham ribbon I recently found at my local thrift store.  I made the bow with Becca's Peg Bow Maker.

After putting the card together, I added stickles to the eagle and glossy accents to each star!

Mix-Ability Challenge 15

Hey y'all!  I have two cards to share that I made for the Mix-Ability Challenge on SCS!  This first one is made with a scrap of old SU! paper that is adhered to card stock with Mod Podge.  I cut out the Spellbinders Dress Forms and Mod-Podged them into place over the  background.  I added a little paint, and sponged ink and did a little doodling too.  The banner is cut from the ODBD/Spellbinders Cathedral Window and Borders Die and the sentiment is from the ODBD set called Little Girls. I finished the card with black rhinestones!

Here is my second card:

For this one I tore strips of designer papers and mod-podged them down to card stock.  I globbed some brown paint here and there.  Then I used a die cut from the ODBD/Spellbinders Cathedral Windows and Borders to create a mask.  I held the mask down and dabbed white paint with my finger.  Then I mod-podged an unused Cheery Lynn Flourish and an unused Spellbinders Itty Bitty Blossom.  I stamped the ODBD Fishing Net Background here and there too.  Next I stamped the fishing boat and the sentiment from the set called The Waves on the Sea, cut them out and mod-podged them down too!  A few more little globs of paint finished it off!

3x3 Easter Cards

Hello!  Have I mentioned how adorable this little lamb is?  I made these little 3x3 Easter cards for my grandchildren!  Four girls, one boy.  I colored the images with copics and cut each one out with an oval Spellbinders.  I cut out Spellbinders Lacey Ovals for the frames.  The background is embossed with the Spellbinders Lattice die.  I used my corner chomper thingie on each corner.  On the inside, is a strip of the same card stock at the bottom and I stamped the sentiment.  This set is from Our Daily Bread designs and is called The Shepherd.  These are for a LOVEFEST2013 challenge to make 3x3 cards!

Hope you all have a great weekend!  Thanks for visiting!

LOVEFEST2013!

Hello again!  Yes, I have been saving up!  I am a slacker lately!

I have been playing in the LOVEFEST2013 challenges and here are my first two cards!  The first challenge was to create a card using the first letters of the word LOVE.  L-Labels 26, O-Ovals, V-Vintage Birdcage, E-Embossing and embellishments.  I used Spellbinders dies and a Cheery Lynn die.  I added Martha flowers and pearls I colored with a copic marker.  In real life the pearls do match the SU! paper behind the frame.  The tag was stamped with the word Love from the ODBD Words of Faith set.

This card is for the second LOVEFEST challenge which is a sketch.  I used papers from a pack of My Mind's Eye designer papers.  The sweet little girl image and sentiment are from the ODBD set called Little Girls.  I used Colorbox ink in a pretty matching blue to stamp the image and sentiment and around the edges of the papers.  I also used Antique Linen ink around the edges.  I used a copic marker on the wooden Prima button to help it blend in better.  I used Spellbinders dies for the image and sentiment and added a button to finish the card!

Here are the ODBD sets I used:

Sweet Girl

Good morning everyone!!!  Happy Saturday!

This card is for the Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast today!
The inspiration is a website called Layla Grayce.  What beautiful things they offer!  I chose the colors of this soft pink blanket for my inspiration.

I used a sentiment from the new ODBD set called Princess.  I also used the beautiful ODBD label from the Fancy Labels set for my backdrop. This label coordinates with the Spellbinders Labels 17.

I also used Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms, Decorative Dress Forms and an Oval.  The paper is My Mind's Eye.  I added pearls and a beautiful Hug Snug seam binding bow made with Becca's Peg bow Maker!

Here is another look!

I want to remind you of the ODBD sale going on now!

Well, thanks so much for visiting!  Enjoy your weekend!

Crowns and Castles!

Hi there!  Hope you had a good week!
Here are a couple of cards I made with the new Princess set and Special Girl set from ODBD!

These sets are perfect to have on hand for the little girls in your life!  On this first card, I colored the crown with copics and then used stickles to give it that sparkle.  I used a sentiment from the same Princess set as well as a sentiment from the Special Girl set.  This is for the ODBDSLC137 challenge to use something old and something new.  The sets are new of course, and the papers and embellishments are old!  This is also for Word Art Wednesday62-Anything Goes.

And here is my second card:

Isn't this just so fun and girly?!!!  This castle image is fantastic!  Again, the image is colored with copics and accented with stickles!  I added a pearl border and a pretty bow made with Becca's Peg Bow Maker.

I know my grand girls will love these cards for their birthdays this year!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!  See you again soon!
