Elate Clean Cosmetics (vegan!)

¡Buenas tardes chicas!
Hoy vengo a hablaros de una marca que llevo unos meses probando. Se llama Elate Clean Cosmetics, y sus productos son naturales y veganos. Hoy os hablaré de dos de sus bases de maquillaje, y sus sombras de ojos. Es una marca canadiense, por lo que es importante  que tengáis en cuenta que los precios son el dólares canadienses. ¡Espero que os guste!

En primer lugar está la base prensada en el tono Pearl. Es el tono más claro que tienen, y es demasiado oscuro y amarillento para mi piel, por lo que lo recomendaría a un NW15-20. La base sólo está disponible en cinco tonos, siendo el segundo (Flaxen) el único que parece rosado. Hay poca variedad de tonos, pero me consta que iban a ampliar la gama, y hacer un tono más claro. La base no contiene talco, que es un ingrediente que generalmente hace que mi piel se ponga peor. Viene con 16 gr. de producto, lo cual está genial (mi base de Honeybee Gardens tiene menos de la mitad de producto), y tiene un precio de 26$ canadienses.

Aquí podéis ver mi piel sin la base (izquierda), y con ella (derecha). Aunque no se aprecia en la foto, es bastante más amarillenta que mi tono, y se nota mucho en el corte con el cuello. Si fuese mi tono sería genial, puesto que como podéis ver, la cobertura es fantástica. No descarto hacerme con el tono que saquen más claro, porque la formulación y el acabado en la piel me gustan mucho. Recomendaría ésta base a cualquier persona que busque una base mineral con una buena cobertura.

Sin embargo, su Fresh Tint Foundation es todo lo contrario: se trata de una base súper ligera de cobertura baja. Tiene protección solar (aunque no indica cuánta), y extractos de bambú y arcilla para prevenir la irritación. El tono Fairiest también es algo oscuro para mi, aunque he podido usarla durante el verano. La recomendaría para un NW15. No corrige imperfecciones, pero sirve para unificar el tono de la piel, por lo que la recomendaría para aquellas personas que sólo quieran perfeccionar un poco el tono. Contiene 60ml (el doble de lo habitual), y tiene un precio de 26$ canadienses. Sólo está disponible en cuatro tonos.

Por último están las sombras de ojos de la marca. Las venden en godet, pero tienen disponible la paleta de bambú de la foto por 8$. Tienen otra más grande, también de bambú, tipo Z-Palette, por 14$.
Las sombras tienen un precio de 16$ canadienses cada una (algunas las tienen rebajadas a 12$), y tienen 3 gr. de producto. Contienen pigmentos minerales, extracto de bambú, y aceite de jojoba orgánico.
Los tres tonos que cogí no serán ninguna sorpresa para quienes me sigáis desde hace tiempo.

Lumen es una sombra iluminadora de un tono vainilla blanquecino con mucho brillo.
Modish es un ciruela aframbuesado, también luminoso.
Rise es un marrón medio cálido de base amarillenta.
Las tres sombras pigmentan genial.

NARS | All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation

¡Buenas tardes, chicas! Hoy vengo con el review de la nueva base de NARS: All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation. Tengo sentimientos encontrados, pero espero que este review os resulte interesante.
Como dato importante, mi piel es mixta, deshidratada y con tendencia acneica.

Good evening, ladies! Today I come with the review of the new foundation by NARS: the All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation. I have mixed feelings with this foundation, but I hope you find this review helpful..
Just so you know, my skin is combo to oily, dehydrated and acne prone.

Lo primero, hablemos del tono. Escogí el Siberia porque ese es mi tono en la Sheer Matte. Según NARS, es un tono neutro, con equilibrio entre rosa y amarillo. Discrepo enormemente. El tono es muy muy amarillo, y es completamente distinto al de la Sheer Matte, lo cual me molesta, ya que si el tono tiene el mismo nombre, debería ser equivalente. Me siento como un Simpson pálido, aunque, a diferencia de la Sheer Matte, esta me queda un punto oscura, quizá porque al ser tan amarilla noto más el "efecto careta", y además oxida.

First, let's talk about the shade. I chose Siberia because that's my shade in the Sheer Matte. According to NARS, is a neutral shade, with a balance between pink and yellow. I hugely disagree. The shade is very very yellow, and is completely different from the shade of the Sheer Matte, which bothers me, because if the shade has the same name, it should be equivalent. I feel like a pale Simpson, though, unlike the Sheer Matte, this one looks a tad dark on me, perhaps because it is so yellow that the "mask effect" is more noticeable, and it oxidizes too.

Esta vez (¡por fin!) decidieron incluir el dispensador, ya que con las anteriores bases había que comprarlo aparte, y gastando 43€ en un base de maquillaje no me parece bien tener que gastar otros 5€ en comprar el dispensador. Un punto a favor de NARS.
Supuestamente la marca dice que con ella se consigue una alta cobertura con un solo "pump", a pesar de tener una textura muy líquida. A menos que tengáis la piel perfecta, esto tampoco es cierto. A mi me da para cubrir media cara, sin contar la frente, y sin obtener una cobertura total. Igualmente, no me gusta usarla en la frente, porque hace que se me vea la piel súper envejecida (¡y no llego ni a los 25!). He probado a aplicarla con Beauty Blender, con las manos y con brocha, y las dos primeras son las formas que menos me disgustan.

This time (finally!) they decided to include the pump, since with the previous foundations they had to be purchased separately, and spending €43 on a foundation it does not seem right having to spend another 5€ to buy the pump, it should be included. A point in favor of NARS.
Supposedly, the brand says that with this foundation we will achive a high coverage with a single "pump", despite having a very liquid texture. Unless you have perfect skin, this is not true. I just can cover half face with a pump, and this is excluding the forehead, and I wouldn't get full coverage. Also, I do not like using it on the forehead, because it makes my skin look super aged (and I'm not even 25!). I tried to apply it with a Beauty Blender, with my hands and with a brush, and the first two are the ways that work better for me.

Aquí podéis ver bien cerca cómo queda la base en mi piel. Como podéis comprobar, marca cualquier pellejito, sequedad, poro, vello o arruga que tengamos en la piel. La cobertura es media/alta, pero no total. Además, la base no dura 16 horas en la piel. En días de frío, acaba marcándome mucho más las zonas secas. Sin embargo, cuando hace más calor, con el paso de las horas se va fundiendo y me gusta bastante cómo queda (de hecho, en Valencia, que fue donde la compré, y el clima es bastante más húmedo que en Madrid, me gustaba mucho más cómo me quedaba). Hay días en los que me la aplico y queda preciosa en la piel, y hay otros donde me toca desmaquillarme y empezar de cero con otra base (como en el caso de la foto), de ahí mi amor-odio.  Lo que más odio es que hace que el "vello invisible" sea muy visible, y acabe con patillas Pantoja y bigote, en versión albina. Por desgracia, son más las veces en las que me veo la piel mal con ella, que en los que me la veo bien, y he de tener la piel muy hidratada y exfoliada para que no quede a parches. Quizá en verano con el calorazo de Madrid me guste más.
Además, dice ser una base de acabado luminoso, y no me lo parece. En mi piel veo un acabado más mate/satinado, aunque con las horas saca brillos.

Here you can see up close how this foundation looks on my skin. As you can see, it emphasizes any flakes, dryness, pores, hair or wrinkles that you have on the skin. The coverage is medium/high, but not full. Further, the foundation does not last 16 hours on the skin. On cold days, it looks awful in my driest areas. However, when it's warmer, as the day goes one and it melts a bit in to my skin I quite like how it looks (in fact, in Valencia, which was where I bought it, and the climate is much more humid than in Madrid, I liked more how it looked on me). There are days when I apply it and the skin looks beautiful, and there are others where I have to take all my makeup off and start from scratch with another foundation (as in the picture), that's why I'm in a love-hate relationship with this foundation. What I hate most is that makes the "invisible hair" very visible, and I end up with albino sideburns and moustache. Unfortunately, it does look bad more often than it looks good, and I have to have very well moisturized and exfoliated skin so that it doesn't look patchy. Maybe in summer with the hot weather from Madrid I will like it better.
In addition, it claims to be a foundation with a luminous finish, and I do not think so. In my skin I see more like a matte/satin finish, although it starts looking oily in a couple of hours.

No es una base que recomendaría, pero de ser para alguien diría que sería para pieles grasas o normales con un tono y una textura bastante uniforme, ya que he visto a chicas en YouTube con esas características a las que no les ha ido tan mal la base.

This is not a foundation that I will recommend, but I think it might work better on oily or normal skin with a uniforme shade and texture, since I have seen girls in YouTube with those characteristics that liked this foundation.

Benecos | Vegan Makeup

Hoy vengo a daros mi opinión sobre algunos de los productos veganos de maquillaje de la marca de cosmética natural Benecos que llevo un par de meses probando.

Today I am here to tell you my opinion about some of the vegan makeup products by the natural cosmetic brand Benecos that I've been testing for the past couple of months.

Empezaré por la base de maquillaje, aunque por desgracia no he podido usarla en condiciones. Tenía que mezclarla con una base blanca para conseguir mi tono, ya que el tono más claro me queda oscuro. Contiene 30ml de producto, y tiene un precio de 9'78€.

I'll start with the foundation, which unfortunately I could not try as I would like to. I had to mix it with a white foundation to make it look good on me, because the lightest shade was too dark to me. It cointains 30ml of product, and is priced at 9'78€.

Aquí podéis ver que el tono "NUDE" es bastante más oscuro que mi piel, y es el más claro que venden. La base sólo está disponible en 3 tonos (Nude, Honey y Caramel). Como referencia, mi tono es un NC10 en MAC, o un Siberia en NARS.
El aroma del producto es agradable, pero es una base algo difícil de trabajar, ya que con los dedos no se extiende bien. Os recomiendo trabajarla con una esponja tipo Beauty Blender. La cobertura es buena, como podéis apreciar en la foto, y una vez seco deja un acabado mate, y no transfiere. No la recomendaría para pieles secas, ya que a pesar de venderse como una base "cremosa", se adhiere muy fácilmente a la sequedad de la piel, dejando un efecto poco natural. 

Here you can see that the shade "NUDE" is much darker than my skin, and this one was the lightest shade for this foundation. The foundation is only available in 3 shades (Nude, Honey and Caramel). For reference, my shade is a NC10 in MAC, or Siberia in NARS.
The scent of the product is nice, but it a foundation a bit difficult to blend with our fingers. I recommend you work it with a makeup sponge like the Beauty Blender. The coverage is good, as you can see in the picture, and once dry it leaves a matte finish, and it doesn't transfer. I would not recommend for dry skin, because despite being sold as a "creamy" base, it adheres to the dry skin very easily, leaving an unnatural patchy apprearence.

Lo siguiente es el quad "Beautiful Eyes 001". Consta de cuatro sombras: una rosadita satinada con reflejo violeta, una marrón con destellos en dorado y reflejo algo rojizo, una rosa amoratado con brillitos en plateado, y una sombra color perla con bastante brillo. Viene con un total de 4'8gr. de producto, y tiene un precio de 8'94€.

The next product is the quad "Beautiful Eyes 001". It consists of four shades: a satin pink with violet reflect, a warm brown with tiny gold shimmer and red reflex, a purplish pink with small glitter in silver, and a shiny pearl color. It comes with a total of 4'8gr. of product, and is priced at 8'94€.

Aquí se pueden ver los swatches sin ningún tipo de primer. La verdad es que con primer y/o en mojado ganan muchísimo respecto a los swatches sin primer. Los colores se pierden mucho al difuminarlos sin primer, por eso tengo una relación de amor-odio con esta paleta. El tono marrón me parece una preciosidad, pero para sacarle toda la intensidad que quiero, tengo que trabajar la sombra en mojado, o al difuminarla pierdo todo el color. 

Here you can see the swatches without any kind of primer. 
The truth is that using them over a primer or wet, they look much better than in the picture. The colors tend to disappear when we blend them, so I have a love-hate relationship with this palette. The brown shade is gorgeous, but to get all the intensity I want, I have to work the eyeshadow wet, or the color wouldn't look nice.

El primer "Natural Eyeshadow Base" me ha sorprendido gratamente. La verdad es que no esperaba mucho de un primer de ojos "natural", pero aguanta sus 7.30-8h. antes de empezar a sacarme pliegues, así que para diario me funciona genial. Contiene 5ml de producto, y tiene un precio de 5'44€.

I was pleasantly surprised with their "Natural Eyeshadow Base". The truth is I did not expect much of "natural" primer, but it holds my eyeshadows 7.30-8h. before they start creasing on me, so for this works great for an everyday basis. It contains 5ml of product, and is priced at 5'44€.

La pega es que no es transparente ni color piel, sino que deja un reflejillo dorado por todo el párpado, que habrá a quien le guste, pero yo prefiero trabajar sobre una base color piel (en la foto podéis apreciar el reflejo en el swatch de la izquierda que es donde he aplicado el primer). Igualmente, se soluciona fácilmente aplicando una sombra color piel por donde hayamos aplicado el primer.

The downside is that it is not transparent or skin-like, but leaves golden reflex across the eyelid, who maybe some people would like, but I prefer to work on a skin-colored base (on the picture you can see the reflection in the swatch of the left, which is where I applied the primer). This can easily be solved by applying a skin colored eyeshadow over the primer.

El lápiz de ojos Natural Kajal está especialmente indicado para ojos sensibles. Contiene aceite de jojoba y vitamina E. En el párpado superior funciona genial, y el tono es un negro intenso, pero al no ser waterproof, en la línea del agua no aguanta mucho, a menos que sellemos la zona con sombra negra. Se puede difuminar bien para conseguir un efecto ahumado. Contiene 1'13gr. de producto, y tiene un precio de 4'09€.

The Natural Kajal eyeliner is especially suitable for sensitive eyes. It contains jojoba oil and vitamin E. In the upper eyelid it works great, and the shade is a deep black, but it is not waterproof, so it doesn't hold as well on the waterline unless we seal the area with black shadow. It can be blended for a smoky effect. It contains 1'13gr. of product, and has a price at 4'09€.

Hoy os enseño mi haul de la web Ecco-Verde, una web que me encanta puesto que, por lo que he visto hasta ahora, sólo venden marcas cruelty-free, y además podemos incluso buscar productos por distintos tipos de certificados oficiales. Sería como una especie de "iHerb europeo", con una web de mucha mejor calidad.

Today I show you my haul from the website Ecco-Verde, a website that I love because, from what I've seen so far, they only sell cruelty-free brands and we can even search the products for different types of official certificates. It would be like a "European iHerb", with a much better quality website.

Lo primero que cogí fue un champú reparador sin siliconas de la marca So'Bio étic, para cabellos secos, dañados o quebradizos, con argán y ceramidas. Por ahora parece que me deja muy bien el pelo, aunque no hace espuma y se me hace complicado de usar.
Contiene 250ml de producto, y tiene un precio de 4'49€.

The first thing I choose was a repairing shampoo without silicones from the So'Bio étic brand, for dry and damaged hair, with argan and ceramide. For now it seems that it leaves my hair so clean, although it does not lather and I find it difficult to use.
It contains 250ml of product and is priced at €4'49.

Lo siguiente fue un jabón pequeñito de "Pasto de Limón" de Savon du Midi, que huele genial.
Contiene 20gr. de producto y tiene un precio de 0'69€.

The next was a tiny "Lemon Grass" soap from Savon du Midi, which smells so great.
It contains 20g. of product and it is priced at €0'69.

También cogí para probar un tratamiento capilar con uva de Lavera, para hidratar y fortalecer el pelo.
Contiene 20ml de producto, y tiene un precio de 1'49€.

I also picked a hair treatment with grape to test from Lavera, to moisturize and strengthen the hair.
It contains 20ml of product, and is priced at €1'49.

Por último cogí una base mineral y un corrector de la marca Lily Lolo. Por ahora la base me está gustando mucho, pero el corrector no me termina de convencer.

La base mineral contiene 10gr. de producto, y tiene un precio de 15'79€. El tono más claro, Porcelain, me queda perfecto, y tiene un SPF15.
El corrector contiene 5gr. de producto, y tiene un precio de 9'39€.

I finally grabbed a mineral foundation and a concealer by the brand Lily Lolo. For now I'm liking the foundation so much, but the concealer does not convince me.

The mineral foundation contains 10gr. of product, and is priced at €15'79. The lightest shade, Porcelain, fits me perfectly, and has a SPF15.
The concealer contains 5g. of product, and is priced at €9'39.

Sorry to have been absent, but I am around here again with a new review. This time I come to speak about Alva Naturkosmetik, a brand I've been testing recently, and I'm enjoying it quite a lot. All products from this brand have a distinct smell (in some products is more intense than in others), which I can't describe to you (if somebody could help me?).

Empezaré por hablaros por su base de maquillaje, de cobertura ligera tirando a media, y apta para pieles sensibles. Debido a su cobertura, suelo acompañarla de un corrector (puesto que, como ya sabéis, últimamente estoy volviendo a tener algún que otro problemilla con el acné), o sola, en el caso de que mi piel tenga un buen día, ya que unifica bien el tono.
Tiene el certificado Ecocert, lo que quiere decir que es un producto sin siliconas ni derivados del petróleo, sin colorantes, conservantes o perfumes artificiales, con una fórmula vegana, libre de materias primas procedentes de animales, y no testado en animales. Además, el 99% de sus ingredientes son de origen natural y más de un 10% de los mismos procede de agricultura ecológica. Es perfecta para todas aquellas personas reacias a utilizar productos no-naturales en su rostro.

I will begin reviewing their foundation, with a light-to-medium coverage, and suitable for sensitive skin. Owing to its coverage I usually use it with a concealer (because, as many of you will know, I've been having lately some problems dealing with acne), or alone, in those days were my skin has a good day, because it unifies my skin.
It has the Ecocert certificate, which means that it is a product without silicone or petroleum products, no artificial colors, preservatives or artificial fragrances, with a vegan formula free of raw materials derived from animals, and not tested on animals. In addition, 99% of the ingredients are natural and more than 10% of them come from organic farming. Perfect for all those reluctant to use non-natural products on their face.

Lo mejor es que su tono más claro (0- Porcelain) es PERFECTO para las Blancanieves que estéis por aquí, ya que como podéis comprobar, es un tono muy muy clarito (vamos, casi parece que me lo hubiesen hecho a medida...).
Para aplicar el producto, me gusta ayudarme de mi esponja de maquillaje (en éste caso, la de Skin79, de la que os hablaré en otro post). Cuando no quiero usar corrector, también he utilizado ésta base mezclándola con otras de mayor cobertura que tenía pero me quedaban muy oscuras, y el acabado ha resultado mejor que perfecto.

The best thing is that its lighter shade (0 - Porcelain) is perfect for all the Snow White's over this blog, because as you can see, is a very very fair shade (it looks like if they did this shade just for me... ).
To apply the product, I like to help me with my makeup sponge (in this case, the Skin79 one, which I will review in another post). When I don't want to use concealer, I have also used this foundation by mixing it with another with more coverage but too dark for me, and the finish has turned out better than perfect.

El siguiente producto que he estado probando  son sus polvos bronceadores para pieles pálidas. El tono es el "1-Beige Rose", y resulta muy favorecedor en pieles blanquitas.
El 99'5% de sus ingredientes son de origen natural y un 12% de los mismos procede de agricultura ecológica.

The next product I've been testing are the bronzing powder for pale skin. The number is the "1-Beige Rose", and it is very flattering on fairy skin.

Vienen con un espejo bastante grande y un compartimento debajo en el que incluyen una esponja que, como siempre, sólo utilizo fuera de casa o en casos de emergencia, aunque es muy suave y compacta, pero siento que las esponjas de éste tipo retienen más producto del que aplican.

They come with a rather large mirror and a compartment below which includes a sponge, which, as always, I only use outdoors or in an emergency, although it is very smooth and compact, I feel that this type of sponges retain more product than the product they applying.

Éstos polvos aportan un sutil efecto bronceado (o "toque de color"), dando un look muy saludable. Contiene pequeñas partículas de glitter, por lo que no aconsejo utilizarlo como contorno, aunque a mi me gusta el efecto que da como colorete.
A pesar de que no uso nunca bronceadores, me encanta usar éste para los días en los que mi piel se ve más apagada. Dejan un efecto precioso. Es muy pigmentado, y aquí podéis ver cómo queda el swatch sin difuminar:

El tercer producto que he estado probando es su gloss, el cual también tiene (al igual que la base de maquillaje), éste olor tan característico, aunque bastante más intenso. No es pegajoso en absoluto, y dura bastante más que un gloss normal, además de dejar el labio teñido.

Es muy cubriente, y éste tono en concreto (el "Indian Red") es perfecto para pieles oscuras , aunque en pieles claras también puede quedar bien, especialmente si se usa de forma suave, aunque también se puede usar en pieles claras para un look más intenso/dramático.

Por último os enseño un producto que me ha encantado: su máscara de pestañas "Deep Black".
Se trata de una máscara de pestañas waterproof negra, apta para ojos sensibles. No es la máscara "más negra" del mercado, pero deja las pestañas muy bonitas y espesas, y fue escogida "Mejor Compra" por la revista Natural Health en el 2011.

It is a black waterproof mascara, suitable for sensitive eyes. It is not the "blackest" mascara on market, but with this one the eyelashes look very thick and beautiful, and was chosen "Best Buy" by Natural Health Magazine in 2011.
