Amazing DIY Ribbon Organization!

Hey my crafty peeps! I am back like I promised to share with you an amazing ribbon organization idea that I just love! It has given me sooooo much more space & allows me to actually use up my stash, while also being easily accessible. Yes, it is time consuming to get it started, but trust me, once you have it done you will definitely be glad you did it!

I got this fab idea from The Little Blue House. It is an amazing web site that has so much inspiration & right now they are featuring some organizational tips. Each week they have a post where you can conquer one aspect of your stash & they are doing multiple topics through multiple weeks. I am playing along & loving it...getting so much done! This week they are focusing on large embellishment organization & last week was organizing your small embellishment stash. Another fab fact is that they are encouraging us crafters, as we clean & organize our stash, to throw those unwanted/unused items into a "blessings box" - a box that you will later donate (once you have completed your entire stash) to a school, organization, assisted living center, shelter, etc. for them to use. Awesome idea, huh?!

I found this divided document box on clearance at Wal-Mart for $3. You could use something like this, a photo storage box, or even Mod Podge a shoebox & make your own dividers. Definitely an on-the-cheap DIY organization project! I then measured & cut cardboard (you could use chipboard too) to fit. After that, I divided all my ribbon into color categories & started to unroll it. I worked in sections & wrapped it around the cardboard, securing it with some decorative pins. I also did all my tulle, velvet, & wired ribbon this way too. Using the same method, I put it in a clear storage box.

It took me about one whole day to get this all finished, but let me tell you it was worth it! I freed up an entire drawer, an antique bowl, & a closet full of ribbon/fibers into these two boxes! Plus, I love that it's easy to grab & see exactly what I want; You could even do it by manufacturer instead of color. Hope this idea helps someone out & make sure to check back as I try to conquer some more of my stash alongside The Little Blue House...one of my new fave sites! Happy Craftin'!

One Fine Day LO

Once again it is a fabulous Sunday & I'm back to share with you another creation for Your Memories Here...the fabulous paper craft store with great prices! Plus, Kristina just got a new Cosmo Cricket kit in her store that is just fabulous...you must check it out HERE! I just love how this LO of our son & his girlfriend turned out; definitely my fave pic of them together! I took it this past fall when we took her along on our annual trek to the pumpkin patch. It was a perfect day & I thought this title just summed that up so well.

ALL of the paper I used is by Pebbles Inc., from their Twitterpated collection....YMH has some fun Pebbles products in stock too! I usually don't use such bright & sassy colors but I loved this combo & these papers! I also used some of the Pebbles paper to make a faux ruffled ribbon trim...easy & cute! And for once, I didn't use my Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists...lol! The pearls I used for the flowers centers are by Prima...you do know I can't stay away from Prima, right?! hehehe!

Supplies:
Pearls - Prima
Tiny Type Letters - Cosmo Cricket
Brown Letters/Adhesive Button - American Craft
Pen - Sakura

Thanks so much for stopping by & visiting! I hope you take the time to check out the YMH Store & the YMH DT blog...they are both fab sites filled with some great inspiration! Oh, & about that diaper cake I promised to show off...well, let's just say I ran out of time & gave a different gift instead! But I will be back with my ribbon organization plan soon! Until then, Happy Craftin'!!

This precious pink card is for a friend's shower this coming weekend. Her & her husband are adopting a baby girl next month; not only will they get to bring her home from the hospital, but they are supposed to participate in her birth as well! How cool is that?! I am soooo happy for them & super excited to make my first diaper cake for the shower on Saturday. I'll be back with photos of that later in the week so wish me luck...lol!

Bling/Pearls/Flowers/Lace - Prima

Snow Baby!

Hey my crafty peeps! I am sooo very happy to be back with you after a wonderful Christmas break! I wanted to share with you a fun winter LO featuring our fur baby (who loves the snow!) & some fabulous Prima products from the Your Memories Here Store. I am so blessed to be part of the YMH DT in that it has definitely secured my love for all things Prima! And Tattered Angels, but I did hold off using the Glimmer Mists this week...hehehe!

I decided to incorporate some old stash, some new stash, & some upcycling in this LO as well. All of the flowers, crystals & pearls are by Prima and you can find them HERE in the YMH Store. I took some chipboard letters (the Tattered Angels Glimmer Chips you can find HERE are perfect for this too!) & covered them in acrylic paint, then I used some Stickles & ultra fine glitter to simulate snow. The ribbons & the snowflake ornament are upcycled from some Christmas presents I received from my awesome mom-in-law, who happens to wrap the most gorgeous gifts you'll ever see! The paper is from my stash, as are the inks I used to distress the paper & photo, & the journaling spots were actually trimmed from the bottom of the paper.

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit & I hope that maybe I inspired you to get crafting on some fabulous winter projects. And, maybe use up some of your stash & incorporate some recycling into your LO, too. I would love it if you would hop on over to the YMH DT blog & check out all the amazing DT inspiration...and don't forget to visit the YMH Store for some absolutely rockin' products & prices...you won't be disappointed! Make sure to check back later for another crafty post too! Got a lot of catchin' up to do now that the holidays are over! LOL! Happy Craftin'!

I'm also entering my LO into the Follow the Recipe Challenge over at Catered Crop! I stumbled upon this crafty Texan's web site several months ago, fell in love, & signed up for her newsletter. Recently, Linda started a challenge site & it is pretty awesome too...make sure to check it out if you have a chance!

I Promise I'm Still Alive!!!

Hello my crafty peeps! Just wanted to drop in during this new year (still feels so weird saying that!) and let you know that I am still alive...LOL!

I have been absent big time during the holidays...they were super busy this year! Now, I am dealing with the aftermath...as in cleaning, clearing out, & putting away ALL that holiday decor. Between family coming up from Louisiana & Texas, and us traveling down to Texas, plus the usual holiday adventures with three family Christmas extravaganzas, it has been quite hectic. Throw in me having a sinus infection, strep throat & some strange viral infection during all of this & you have quite the chaotic scene!!!

However, I promise to get back to posting very soon as I have several projects I am working on & some exciting ones scheduled for the new year...so make sure to stay tuned. I also want to say thank you for being my friends & followers, as well as inspiring me in my everyday crafting adventures. Y'all rock so hard & I am so blessed to know each of you! Happy Crafting in the New Year!
