Fairy Fun Friday Card Challenge!

It's Fairy Fun Friday time again! And, I am actually posting on time, yeah! I have had sooo much going on lately and am so trying to get caught up. However, the weather is definitely not cooperating! It should be noted that right now, we are in the middle of an ice storm here in Oklahoma! Probably going to lose our power eventually and it will be getting nasty...already is some. When we lose power, for however long that might be, I won't be able to do anything so I wanted to get this posted asap. I also wanted to say sorry for the not so good photo! With the weather being so crappy I could not get outside and the lighting was just not working for me inside either. Ugh!

Anyway, this is a card using one a Prairie Fairy Digital Stamp designed by the rockin' Roberta! Isn't this little fairy so cute?! Just loved playing with her and have had a blast enjoying all of her awesome images! Can't wait to see all that I know she will keep designing for Valentine's Day! For the card I used K&Co. papers, some vintage sheet music, and distressed the papers with StampCraft coffee colored ink. I used my Prismas to color the image and then used Stickles on her wings and the detail on her dress. The twine is by Fiskars and the navy ribbon was leftover from a Christmas present. I cannot remember for the life of me who makes the adhesive stone words. It will come to me eventually! I should also say that I did kinda mess up on this DT challenge. I was supposed to use a certain sketch, but did not see that email from Roberta until it was too late. I did use a sketch though, just not the right one! LOL!

Please make sure to hop on over and see what the other DT members came up with! They are so creative and full of inspiration! Also, take the time to check out Roberta's store HERE. You won't be sorry! Stay warm & Happy Scrappin'!

Fairy Fun Fridays "Anything Goes" Challenge!

Okay. Just to let you know, I am several days late posting this layout! I should have had it up Friday, but did not. Why, you may ask? Well, because when it rains, it pours! In the past week my car had to go into the shop (grand total of nearly $900), my hubby has been laid off until February, our son had to go to the ER (he is okay!), and I took on some freelance work editing/laying out a friend's new magazine, which kept me very busy several evenings last week. However, my faith is strong and I am keeping my head up! I am trying to let God have total control and realize that everything happens for a reason. The wonderful Roberta helped me with that this very weekend with kind emails and understanding words. I am so appreciative to be on her DT. It is definitely a blessing because not only do I get to play with her wonderful images, but I also get to work with someone so patient, sweet and understanding!

So, this layout is for Fairy Fun Friday!! The current challenge going on is "anything goes!" So, I went with a layout of our adorable cousin that I was able to compliment with some beautiful digital images from Prairie Fairy Digital Stamps. The flowers and leaves can be found in Roberta's store and are really fabulous to work with! A lovely vine comes with this set too, but I just decided to use the leaves. I colored the images with Prisma pencils and use pop dots for the dimension. The buttons in the flower centers are antique ones from my stash and the thread is Bazzill. I am not sure who the kraft cardstock is by, but the black cardstock is Bazzill. The polka dot paper is by Junkitz and the leaf paper I made by using a SU wheel stamp. The border punch is SU, the chipboard letters are by K&C0., distressing ink by StampCraft, the adhesive paper ribbon trim is by Flair Designs and I used a Sharpie for journaling.

The photo was taken when we were doing family photos for Christmas. Casey was having such a good time and if you can get him to slow down long enough for a photo, it is a miracle! He has so much energy! I just happened to click several shots of him and got this one, which we loved, hence the title, 'Still.' The journaling is Psalms 46:10 and reads, Be still and know that I am God. I just thought that went so well with this layout!

I hope you will take the time to hop on over to Fairy Fun Fridays and see the amazing work by the other DT members, and take part in the current challenge! Roberta is offering some great goodies for the winner! And, don't forget to visit her store HERE! She has several new releases that are just too cute! Happy Scrappin'!

So Chic!

I am having so much fun playing with Prairie Fairy Digital Stamps! I am so blessed that Roberta chose me to be a part of her DT and I get to use her awesome images! This particular image is one her daughter, the Prairie Fairy Princess designed! How cute is that! You can find images designed by Roberta, her daughter and her son HERE!

I made this particular card with several challenges in mind. I used the sketch from Stampin' for the Weekend, color combo from SPCC, and the "anything goes" challenge from Sew Many Cards Challenge Blog. First I used my Prisma's to color the image. The papers are by SU, K&Co., & Elsie. The flowers are by Prima (wish you could see the embossing!), the adhesive badge is by American Crafts, & the rhinestones are by Studio 18. The tulle I used is from Gauche Alchemy's Lady Marmalade kit (which is awesome by the way...all their kits are!) I also distressed the papers with coffee colored ink by StampCraft.

Make sure to visit Prairie Fairy Digital Stamps when you get a chance...you won't be sorry! And, take a minute to stop by these rockin' challenge sites too....they are full of inspiration! Happy Scrappin'!

Fairy Fun Fridays Sketch Challenge!

It's Fairy Fun Friday again with an image and sketch provided by Roberta, the awesome Prairie Fairy! I am having so much fun being on the Prairie Fairy DT and am totally enjoying playing with such fabulous images from Prairie Fairy Digital Stamps!

This adorable little monster can be found at Prairy Fairy Digital Stamps! And as you can see, digital stamps are not just for cards! I colored this furry little guy with my Prisma pencils and used the sketch provided by Roberta for the layout. The patterned papers are by My Mind's Eye & K&Co.; the cardstock is by The Paper Studio and Reminisce. The ribbon is American Crafts, the buttons are Softies by KI Memories, the thread is Bazill, and I used Thickers for the title. The photo is one of our son about five years ago in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

Make sure you hop on over to the Fairy Fun Fridays challenge blog and participate in our challenge, as well as check out the other DT work! Roberta has great prizes for the winner! Also, take a minute and check out her store HERE! Her images are fabulous and can be used on soooo many different things! Prairie Fairy Fun Friday Challenge!

Yippeee! The Fairy Friday Challenge Blog is up and running! All of us DT members are so excited because we know Roberta has been working so hard on it, and has had her patience tested time and time again. It has definitely paid off! Not only does Prairie Fairy Digital Stamp Co. site look fabulous, but the challenge blog does too! I really love how easy it is to navigate through her store and her prices are great too!

This lovely little triple scooper was designed by Roberta and can be found in her store. I used my Prisma's to color it and added some ice Stickles to make it look yummier! (Now, it should be noted that switching from watercolor pencils to the Gamsol\Prisma technique has been somewhat of a nightmare for me. After resolving some previous problems, I now realize that my blending stumps are an issue too. So, the image coloring isn't quite the quality I would like. Roberta and all of my wonderful crafting friends have been great in helping me sort through this issue and I am so appreciative!) The papers are DCWV, Pebbles, Inc. & SU. The sentiment is Studio G, while the ink is Staz-On & StampCraft. I used my Cricut Mini Monograms cart for the circles and scallop circle. The ribbon is AC & the thread is Bazzill. The button and sparkly skittles are from my stash. I also used pop dots to get the dimension.

The sketch for this card is up over at Fairy Fun Fridays so hop on over....the DT has created some amazing cards for inspiration! Roberta has some cutie cupcake digi stamps that the challenge winner will receive too! If that isn't enough temptation, I don't know what is!! LOL! Please make sure to visit the blog and the store if you get a chance! You will definitely be glad you did! I will be back soon with more Prairie Fairy DT goodness! Happy Scrappin'!

Your Memories Here Winter Contest!

I have discovered the wonderful site of Your Memories Here recently through my lovely friend Leah's blog. Leah also designs for this wonderful company and I popped over the other day after discovering they are now having monthly contests! Each month will be a different theme and this month's is winter. As soon as I discovered the theme I knew that I wanted to share one of my favorite layouts with them. This is our fur baby Sid...isn't he a doll?!! The photo is one from last Christmas after I had finished putting up the tree. This is a layout I have highlighted before as I completed it for my WSB DT challenge, but I love it so much and it fit their winter theme perfectly. So I am entering it! Wish me luck y'all! And make sure to check out the site HERE or go directly to the contest link HERE.

Oh, and I am working on some scrappy goodness that I hope to post for you very soon! It is for the Prairie Fairy DT and you are just gonna love Roberta's digital stamp designs! Plus she has amazing blog candy up for grabs right now! Happy Scrappin'!

Got a Question For Y'all!

I got a set of Prismacolor colored pencils for Christmas. I have been wanting to try them for awhile using the Gamsol technique. I usually use watercolor pencils but wanted to switch because I like the effect and vibrancy more. Anyway, I am sooooo upset with them right now. They will not sharpen for anything! I have even purchased the Prismacolor pencil sharpener which was supposed to practically guarantee a sharp point without "chewing" the pencil. Not a chance. I have a several pencils that are chewed down and keep breaking when I sharpen them. One of my reds is already halfway used thanks to this!

These are not cheap pencils as y'all know and I do not want to ruin them this way. I was soooo mad awhile ago while trying to work on a project that I got up and emailed the company. I am waiting to hear from them but thought in the meantime I would see if anyone has any suggestions. I know some of you use this method too. How do you sharpen your colored pencils? Do you have a certain brand of sharpener that just rocks? If so, please let me know. I appreciate any help that anyone can give me! Hugs!
