communication

a bit of detail from the QA piece, showing the beads I added.

and a so far for the SAQA piece. I think it wants some kind of stitching, which may be hand stitching, but I have to have a think first.

Communication

A bit more progress on the second communication piece.
After adding beads to it, I realised the first piece was in need of something more as well. Especially to highlight the idea about communicating ideas. So I have added beads in that area.

Here are the 2 of them.

I should be able to finish the second one tomorrow. I am going round the heads with beads to add more weight visually and physically. The top is quite heavy and the piece very light. but there will be a hanging sleeve of silk organza at the back. It will cover most of the area where the majority of beads are, so they will have the support they need.

QA 15@15

And here is the finished piece.

It is about how different people come together making Art.
Both figures have Art in their head. One is more structured one is more free form. Different background influences, different thoughts. In between, the thoughts of one begin to influence the other. There are also different types of hands quilted over the piece, reflecting the making and different ways of doing art.

Detail can be seen in yesterday's post.

Today I worked on the stitching for the Quilt Art Piece I started the other day.

Here are 2 detail shots. I am going to go round the outside with the copper stitching as well.

QA 15@15

One of the online sewing communities I belong to is Quilt Art. This year it has been going 15 years. (I haven't been on it that long.) They decided that those who wished to participate could make a 15 in x 15 in quilt art. So, I thought why not? the challenge is called Quiltart QuinceaƱero.

And today, I got a start on it.

As you can see it is in the same vein as my Communication piece Language. You can just about see a person at the top and one at the bottom. I will do some stitching on it now. I want to use the stitch to further communicate the idea I have in mind.

This has been photographed on black felt, but it is made up of sheer layers, so has a translucent quality like the Endless Possibilities piece.
