NATO's airstrikes have further enraged the embattled Libyan leader. Gaddafi has threatened to carry out attacks in Europe, unless NATO halts its campaign against his government.
Gaddafi delivered the warning in a telephone speech to thousands of supporters gathered in the main square of the capital Tripoli. He warned that Libyans could take revenge on European homes, offices and families. He also denounced the rebels as traitors and blamed them for Libya's troubles.
Despite the current situation, the international community is still working on how to solve the Libyan crisis. African heads of state have been trying to reach consensus on what to do with Gaddafi.

Britain issues travel warning to France and Germany due to terror threat
The British Foreign Office has issued a warning to British citizen who will be traveling to France or Germany over threats of a Mumbai style terrorist attack. The US State Department has also issued a warning.

The Foreign Office said there was a "high threat" of attacks in countries including France and Germany, rather than the "general threat" previously identified.
It follows intelligence indicating al Qaeda terrorists are planning to launch simultaneous Mumbai-style attacks in the UK, France and Germany.

After three years sans snow, Paris got hit twice this week. The city doesn’t do snow plows, and the novelty of icicles on the Eiffel is wearing off. Even city birds seem to be shivering. “Global warming I care about, but look outside,” offered a denizen of the 8th District.
“Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow,” is fine at Christmas. But in post-holiday Europe, bus engine oil is freezing in Norway. Ireland reports the lowest temperature in 50 years. In Britain, the Army got called out to tow drivers caught in snow drifts, amid possible government gas rationing and fireside chats by Prime Minister Gordon Brown, who is turning into the nation’s weather comforter-in-chief.

As you know, zero population growth - a stable population - requires an average of 2.1 children for every woman of child-bearing age in the population. Radical Islam abusing democracy
"Radical Islamic elements are abusing the democratic tools given to them by European countries in order to incite, escalate and worsen the relations within those countries and between those countries and other countries, and increase and encourage anti-Semitic incidents,"
I would add that radical islamists are inciting hatred towards any non-muslim. But what Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said is pretty much spot on.

Last year, five per cent of the total population of the 27 EU countries was Muslim. But rising levels of immigration from Muslim countries and low birth rates among Europe's indigenous population mean that, by 2050, the figure will be 20 per cent, according to forecasts.
Data gathered from various sources indicate that Britain, Spain and Holland will have an even higher proportion of Muslims in a shorter amount of time.[...]
Although some polls have pointed to a lack of radicalisation in the Muslim community, little attention is being given to the integration of migrants, it is claimed, with fears of social unrest in years to come.

'EU Muslim groups linked to Muslim Brotherhood
There are many muslim group in North America that are also affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood. Such groups include CAIR, MSA and the ISNA to just name a few. Jerusalem Post
Europe's umbrella Orthodox rabbinic organization boycotted a Brussels interfaith conference hosted on Monday by EU institutions, in protest of the inclusion of groups they say are linked to the Muslim Brotherhood.
"We do not consider it appropriate that organizations such as the Federation of Islamic Organizations in Europe, or individuals who in the past made, or endorsed, anti-Semitic statements and who are clearly linked to the radical Islamist movements such as the Muslim Brotherhood should be present at such gatherings," said Rabbi Aba Dunner, executive director of the Conference of European Rabbis.[...]
Three of the four Muslim organizations invited to the gathering are represented by people with "links to organizations affiliated with the international Muslim Brotherhood, an extremist organization known for supporting jihad against the West," EJC president Moshe Kantor said.

'Green' lightbulbs poison workers
Studies have found that 100s of Chinese workers that work in factories that produce 'green' light bulds have dangerous levels of mercury in their bodies. The 'green
light bulds which contain mercury will be compulsory in Europe by 2012. But a growing number of people are beginning to question the benefits of the CFL bulbs because of the effects to people and the environment to create the bulbs.

WHEN British consumers are compelled to buy energy-efficient lightbulbs from 2012, they will save up to 5m tons of carbon dioxide a year from being pumped into the atmosphere. In China, however, a heavy environmental price is being paid for the production of “green” lightbulbs in cost-cutting factories.
Large numbers of Chinese workers have been poisoned by mercury, which forms part of the compact fluorescent lightbulbs. A surge in foreign demand, set off by a European Union directive making these bulbs compulsory within three years, has also led to the reopening of mercury mines that have ruined the environment.[...]
Making the bulbs requires workers to handle mercury in either solid or liquid form because a small amount of the metal is put into each bulb to start the chemical reaction that creates light.[...]
Dozens of workers who were interviewed on condition of anonymity described living with the fear of mercury poisoning. They gave detailed accounts of medical tests that found numerous workers had dangerous levels of the toxin in their urine.
“In tests, the mercury content in my blood and urine exceeded the standard but I was not sent to hospital because the managers said I was strong and the mercury would be decontaminated by my immune system,” said one young female employee, who provided her identity card.
“Two of my friends were sent to hospital for one month,” she added, giving their names also.

Dutch spy agency: 'Europeans' training for terror

The Netherlands' national spy agency says it is receiving a growing number of reports that West Europeans[should read: of islamic faith] are attending terror training camps in the lawless border region between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
In its annual report, the General Intelligence and Security Service also says that Islamic extremists are increasingly seeking targets in the West because attacks in their home countries cause Muslim casualties.

Mirek Topolanek was speaking in the European Parliament, in his capacity as current holder of the EU presidency.
Hours before his remarks, President Obama appealed for all countries to bear the burden of spending to stimulate the world economy.
Mr Topolanek said the biggest success of last week's EU summit was its refusal to copy the US example.

BRUSSELS (Reuters) – Hillary Clinton raised eyebrows on her first visit to Europe as secretary of state when she mispronounced her EU counterparts' names and claimed U.S. democracy was older than Europe's.....
Clinton has set herself a grueling pace on visits to Egypt, Israel and Brussels soon after touring the Far East, attending dozens of meetings and giving speech after speech, with little time worked into her schedule for sleep.
Tiredness appeared to show Friday when she answered questions in front of 500 young Europeans at the European Parliament, where she was the highest-ranking U.S. visitor since the late President Ronald Reagan in 1985.
A veteran politician, Clinton compared the complex European political environment to that of the two-party U.S. system, before adding:
"I have never understood multiparty democracy.
"It is hard enough with two parties to come to any resolution, and I say this very respectfully, because I feel the same way about our own democracy, which has been around a lot longer than European democracy."

Algiers, 4 March (AKI) - Al-Qaeda was seeking to recruit illegal immigrants in Europe for potential suicide attacks in Italy, Spain and France, an Algerian daily has claimed. A report in the daily Ennahar on Tuesday said Al-Qaeda had begun trying to recruit illegal immigrants in Europe, because it had not been able to find new recruits in Arab countries following elections in the United States and Israel.
"Two men, a Pakistani and a Bosnian offered me a proposal. They asked me to collaborate with Al-Qaeda in exchange for money," said Ahmad al-Shalafi, an Algerian immigrant who spoke to the daily by telephone after being approached by alleged Al-Qaeda officials.
"I would have had to recruit people from the local Islamic and African communities to carry out a suicide attack," he said.
Shalafi is an illegal Algerian immigrant who lives in Spain and works as a security official at a nightclub using fake documents and presenting himself as a Moroccan immigrant. He said he migrated illegally to Spain in 2001 after crossing the Strait of Gibraltar in a makeshift boat.

Thief in headscarf cons jewellers

A jewel thief dressed as a wealthy Muslim woman has stolen rings worth hundreds of thousands of euros from dealers across Europe, police say.
The woman, wearing a headscarf, coat and gold-framed glasses, is suspected of swapping gems for replicas.
In one incident in Paris, the woman allegedly stole a 5.5 carat diamond ring worth 635,000 euros (£574,000).
Detectives say the thief has targeted dealers in Germany, Switzerland and France over a 10-year period.

Cardinal Vlk expressed strong disapproval of Islamic fundamentalism. "It is abuse of the Quran in the name of power. Islamic fundamentalism sets if someone does not live according to God, he must be killed. That is absurd," said Cardinal Vlk.....
He believes in the dialogue between Christians and Muslims but "in terms of culture and opinions Islam is medieval".
"I do not want to sound negative... but in Islam a religion assumes the position of the state power and rules the people. Our European Christian experience proved that it is not the right way," said Cardinal Vlk.
Demographically dying out, Cardinal Vlk expects Europe to become markedly more Muslim in the 21st century because of the low fertility of Europeans the majority of whom are non-believers. It is a well-known fact that countries that are secularized reproduce more slowly than countries that are more pious.
"Muslims in Europe have much more children than Christian families. That is why demographers have been trying to come up with a time when Europe will become Muslim," Cardinal Vlk claimed.
While European Muslims are living their religion, Europeans are "pagans, as they do not respect their religion". To face the danger of dying out, Europe needs to install a program of spiritual rehabilitation.
"If we do not restore Europe in terms of Christian values, we will surely die out," Cardinal Vlk said.
