Challenge #2 Reminder - through the Quirky Window.

Reminder time, here is a recap of the details and sponsor.

The challenge is not about windows in your house, it is about apertures in cards and any other projects, or holes! You can have a big aperture, or small, or many small apertures, as long as we can see through those holes. They can be apertures in a layer of your card or project, so we can see something underneath, a different colour perhaps, a pattern or words or an embellishment.

The sponsor for this challenge is:
who is generously providing all three prizes, and provided the team with some great cutting files to use.

Prizes:
1st prize 3 sets of winner's choice
2nd prize 2 sets of winner's choice
3rd prize 1 set of winner's choice
You get a lot in any of the file sets at the Cutting Cafe, either cutting files or printables so you can see these are great prizes.

LORI

Using the frame template from The Cutting Cafe I added one of my favourite quotes from last year so you can see the quote from the inside and outside.

Hi... for this reminder I chose the flowers of the file Every day shapes window cards.

Hi!!!! For this week project, I chose the tall rectangle window, that is one of the many templates of the file "Every day shapes window card tops", provided by our sponsor. The little cups, teapot and lovely sentiment are from the digi collection "Tea Time" also provided by The Cutting Cafe. I color the digis with different shades of distress inks.

Hi everyone! For this reminder I choose this beautiful flowers  EVERY SHAPES WINDOWS CARDS.    Provided by our sponsor The Cutting Cafe.

To my project, I used the same flower in 3D. I made an oval card. It's decorated with ribbons and pearls. I used also Distress Ink and pastel chalks.

Hello everyone and Happy New Year. Today, I want to share with you this Birthday Card, wish I made using the amazing EVERY SHAPES WINDOWS CARDS, from our sponsor The Cutting Cafe. This time I used the Numbers Window, I used the number 9 and resized it as my central background point in the front of my card. I also used the numbers template, some distress ink edges, ribbon and embellishment.

For the inner card, I used the numbers templates in two different papers, distress ink for the edges and the Feliz CumpleaƱos sentiment. This card is inpired in our little one. He is celebrating  his number 9 birthday this year, Thanks God. Have a Great Week!!!

Now for some inspiration from our guest designers:

2 month Guest Designer

LORI

A simple and quick card for the man in your life. Made by hand cutting the squares (using the PDF version of the cutting files for people who don't have cutting machines) from the Cutting Cafe template and adding punched hearts so they show from the outside and the inside.

Here is some more inspiration from the team:

I used Word Bubble Left from the Everyday Shapes Window Card Tops file which I cut by hand, with a sentiment from the Birthday Fun file under the window, and a Monster from the Bunch of Monsters file, haha I see more monsters on Monica's card!

Doris

For my tag I used Window Cards by our sponsor The Cutting Cafe!!

For this week project, I chose one of the Everyday Shapes Window Card Tops provided by our sponsor, with a lot of circles. Those circles were the perfect windows to show this adorable monsters from "Bunch of Monsters" a set of digital stamps also provided by The Cutting Cafe. The lovely sentiment is part of the same monsters set, I traced it and cut it in vinyl.

Hi every body! In this week I made a card, I used EVERYDAY SHAPES WINDOW CARD TOPS. I love the butterflies in the cutting file.

I took the silhouette of butterflies to decored inside of the card. Also, I used Distress Ink, gel pen and a small fabric flower in this project. =)

Challenge #1 2015 Reminder post. Clean and Simple.

It is reminder time everyone, you have until midday on Saturday 17th Jan to play along with us.

Here is a recap of our challenge, sponsor and prizes:

The challenge this time is Clean and Simple and this is what Clean and Simple means to me: not many embellishments, nothing fussy, and lots of "white space" which doesn't have to be white - lots of any colour unprinted, unstamped space really.

Some of you put everything but the kitchen sink on your cards normally, all very pretty but if this is you I guess clean and simple means something different. Let us see what your clean and simple looks like!

We are sponsored by the wonderful Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps.

Our generous sponsor is Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps

Now for some more brilliant inspiration for you, and I hope you will visit our blogs, particularly our guests, to tell them that you like the projects. Lets spread a little love in 2015!

Guest Designers:

Lori used Poodles, with a great retro tiled look to her journal and great colouring! Go tell her if you love it on her blog, and see all the details!
Deborah used the gorgeous Lil Angel by Stitchy on her lovely card.

Design Team:

I used the digi provided by our sponsor Stitchy Bear: Stained Glass Flower III and coloured it with Watercolor pencils.

For my "Clean and Simple" reminder I used this lovely "Fancy Hat" digi stamp provided by our sponsor Stitchy Bear. To color the image I used Spectum Noir pens and a litle bit of shading with distress inks.

Hi everybody! To reminder in this challenge, "Clean and Simple" I made a 3D flip swing card, I used a lovely digi Pretty in Pink. From our generous sponsor Stitchy Bear. My project is coloured with acuarelables pencils. I used also Distress Inks and small flowers on the sides of the girl were drawn by me. A little reminder of my childhood, because to me it has always loved drawing and coloring!

I just couldn't resist this extra cute Bassett Hound by Crafty Girl, he is so cute! I coloured him with Promarkers and cut him out to go on a cloud embossed background coloured with a little chalk. Die cut sentiment to match his collar.

This is another version of the card I made last week, identical images and die cuts, but this time the image is printed on Kraft and coloured with Prismacolor pencils. The images are Blue Tit 4 by IkeSart and A sign of Spring by Lil Diva.

Challenge #1 2015 Clean and Simple

Cazzy here, I want to wish Happy New Year to you all from the Quirky Design Team, I hope it will be a good one, and for those who didn't have a good 2014, I hope 2015 year will be better for you.

We are thinking of our friends who are sick, or have sick relatives, and sending them positive thoughts and prayers.

To see who won the last challenge click HERE or scroll down to the next post.

For our very first challenge of the year I decided to keep it simple, in fact the challenge is Clean and Simple.

This is what Clean and Simple means to me: not many embellishments, nothing fussy, and lots of "white space" which doesn't have to be white - lots of any colour unprinted, unstamped space really.

We are sponsored by the wonderful Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps.

Our generous sponsor is Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps

Prizes:

1st prize of 3 images of choice from the whole of the Stitchy Bear store

2nd prize any 3 of the DT's chosen images

3rd Prize any 2 of the DT's chosen images

Stitchy has provided the team with some great images to use, some will be showcased this week and some next week in the reminder.

Here is the list of images the team got to use:

Pretty in Pink Ikes Art Lil Diva
Fancy That Blue Tit 4 A sign of spring
My Heart Pieces Crafty Girl
Bride Ankhi Bassett Hound

Now for some inspiration, first from our lovely Guest Designers, who as you know, were top three winners from previous challenges:

Bunny used IkeSart Blue Tit 4, with a matching blue and yellow background and lots of blue "white" space.

Lori

Lori was a winner in the top three and as well as being a guest designer is going to be an 8 week guest designer so we would like to welcome her to the team, and you will be seeing a lot more of her lovely work.
Lori used Victoria Twilight by BB Kakes and said "Wow, clean and simple should be so easy but I found it quite hard to think STOP!!!!". Well done Lori, you got it just right!

For my Clean and Simple card, I chose the adorable Miss Weeble from Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet, and I coloured her with my Prismacolor pencils.  I would be so happy if you visited my blog for a closer look at all the details:  http://ktdesigns2013.blogspot.ca//.  Thank you to Quirky Crafts for having me as your Guest Designer! I hope you join our CAS challenge! Wishing you a joyful day!

Deborah used the very sweet Pretty in Pink image by Stitchy, and has a little decoration but a lot of plain space which is what I think CAS really is! Nice one Deborah.

and we have more inspiration from the Design Team:

For my "CAS" card, I chose this gorgeous indian bride digi "Bride Ankhi" provided by our sponsor Stitchy Bear. To make my card I made a little research about indian wedding and find out that they use red color as a symbol of purity, fertility, love, beauty, wealth and power. They also use gold as a symbol of their status and to bring joy and richness to the new family. So I tried to use those lovely colors in my card. I really enjoy colouring this digi.

I decided to recycle a chocolat box and used it to put a pair of headphones inside and give it as a gift. The digi stamp is Poodles from Stitchy Bear and coloured it with Spectrum Noir.

Hi everybody!! Happy New Year for all! To my project I choose Steampunk 3p-set, from our generous sponsor Stichy Bear's Stamps.

I love this digi! For my project I made a card to wish Happy New Year! Let 2015 be a great year for all.

My project is coloured with acuarelables pencils and Distress ink.

I went for a Spring card to cheer you (and me) up, I am fed up with the wet weather, cold weather, everyone having bugs and getting sick, and look forward to the Spring. I used two of the digi images combined to make a scene, A Sign of Spring by Lil Diva, and Blue Tit 4 by IkeSart.  I cut the image out with a lot of white space and a Spellbinders large labels 1 die, and made the card the same shape. No sentiment, lots of people like cards without a sentiment. All of the colouring is done with Promarkers. The inside card blank is yellow. So this is what I think is CAS.

Now let's see what you can do, come and play Quirky with us!
