Challenge #22 Make Us Quirky Well Laugh!

Hi Quirky People, it's Lyn here and it's my turn to set the theme to the nexy Quirky Crafts Challenge, and I thought how about...
Make Us Laugh!
So, that's easy! Make something fantastic that will make us laugh! (or grin a bit!) We're lucky enough to be sponsored once again by the lovely...
  Crackerbox Palace!!
Crackerbox Palace make real rubber stamps and ship to anywhere in the world, stamps can be wood mounted, foam mounted (printed on the back), or unmounted.
Crackerbox Palace have provided the team with some lovely stamps to use, and you can win a very generous prize from them too:
1st Prize is a $20 voucher from Crackerbox Palace
2nd Prize is a $15 voucher from Crackerbox Palace
3rd Prize is a $10 voucher from Crackerbox Palace
Please note the voucher does not include postage.

First makes from our fabulous Guest designers
I wanted to use this stamp because I have a very dear friend that must have her coffee in the morning before she can function.  I've made this card for her because my friend makes me smile and I was hoping this would make her smile as well.  Using dies on a card can make the card look fancy with minimal amount of work.  I like to hand cut my images out and this one was a bit challenging and fun because of the hair.
The die I used to mat my image is from Noor/Joy Craft and is the fancy rectangle. I made the sentiment on my computer. More details and list of copics on Bonnie's blog.

Ike said: I fussy cut the Queen and 3D'd her into 5 layers :-D
Ike used Boo Bug and the Boo-ick joke on this great Halloween card.

Here's my final one... a Diorama using Fairy Guy + A Fairy Tale Sentiment ... I made a toilet too LoL (Definitely the best one last Ike, that is so funny).

And here's some fabulous makes from our Quirky Design Team!
We would like to introduce our new 2 month Guest Designer

I love this little witch, Black Hat Society Witch, she was great to colour with my Promarkers, I figure as we're so close to Halloween now, what would be better than a wreath, I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut a base circle and lots of leaves, from black card, simply stuck them all around and then added my image and sentiment, really simple but effective.

Here's mine: I've used this fabby lion from our sponsors, coloured him with my Promarkers and covered him with a bit a Stickles Glitter Glue. I've also 3D-ed his head and tail tip. I just thought the sentiment went so well .... I mean, you'd give a lion anything he wants if he called at your door one dark halloween night!

I used Chopper from Crackerbox Palace with You're a Classic, and DCWV Rockstar papers, and tartan ribbon. I think Chopper is great, had to use him. I hoped to make a few more but I am suffering with a virus and have lost a few days.

What a spook- tastic challenge this was. The fabulous images were from Crackerbox Palace, and they were so much fun to work with...

I made a large 'secret pocket' journal page this week. The background is made with Dylusions sprays and Tim Holtz stencils.  I coloured the images with Promarkers and Inktense pencils. I wanted the devil boy to be lurking over the witches' shoulder, so I mounted him on a black tag, outlined him in white and slotted him into the secret pocket. Finally I added the sentiment.Happy Halloween...I hope you like my offering !!!

On this occasion, I made a gift box shaped letter, justifying the message. I used  Helen with Coffee image because I thought it was very nice, or is it that I felt identified with her?. This pretty image is courtesy of our fabulous sponsor Crackerbox Palace . (Cazzy thinks this is D for Doris, love it).

My second one, is a Birthday Card, in which I used Clara, this image is provided by Crackerbox Palace, our great sponsor for this new challenge. I used for the background a pre made card kit and then, I painted Clara, by hand, using watercolor pencils. I used for paste Clara, adhesive foam.

MONICA
When my friend Patri wants coffee, she opens her eyes wide, shakes her hands and starts screaming "CAFE, CAFE, CAFE" (that´s coffee in Spanish). So this project is inspired in my dear friend Patri and the Crackerbox Palace digi sentiment "Mr. Cofffe" was perfect for it.

And I made this coffee mug for her, using this funny "Helen with coffee" digi and again the digi sentiment "Mr. Coffee", both from our sponsor Crackerbox Palace.

Hope you love our creations (next week there will be more to see) and they give you heaps of inspiration! Come and join in!

(Whoops {blush} - sorry, someone accidentally deleted the Inlinkz linky thing, it is back now! The perils of 5 people amending posts!)

Hi Quirky peoples, here's a quick reminder about our latest challenge...
'Favourite Things!'
A nice and easy challenge for you all to join in with, thought up by Daire! It's Daire's last challenge with us so let's see LOADS of creations!!  No one's here at the moment so I've sneaked in to show you what the Design Team have come up with so far. But first of all, we'd all love to welcome Gemma, after joining us as a guest designer, (we couldn't scare her off!) is now a brand new member of our Design Team!! So please pop over and say hello!!

This challenge is sponsored by Robyn's Fetish, who have provided the team with some fabulous images and...

1st Place - Your choice of 5 images from Robyn's Fetish.
2nd Place - A voucher for Crafty Ribbons, to buy ribbons, buttons and more!
3rd Place - Your choice of 3 images from Robyn's Fetish

And now here's some of our creations...

First  our lovely  Guest designer with this fabulous creation!
KEMLY (KYSO)

Flowers are one of the things I like the most. I love gardening, I like to take a few minutes a day to water my plants, talk to them and take care of them. My love for gardening is a family tradition, starting with my great-grandmother Celina and her beautiful garden. I also used light aqua color, and color the roses in light colors because I love Shabby Chic style.

The girl with flowers reminds me of myself as a child, I  used to bring flowers to my mom every time, so this beautiful digi reminds me of those moments in my life.
Thank you for this opportunity to collaborate as a guest designer.
Have a nice day ...

And here's what our Design Team have come up with this week!!

The theme for this challenge is 'my favourite things' and I loved every second of making my reminder challenge. I fell in love with this bookworm image from Robyn's Fetish, and knew that I had to make a book with him. I painted to covers with my favourite colours and used a crackle glaze on the inside covers. I coloured the bookworm with a combination of Prisma colour pencils and Neocolour wax crayons. I then cut some paper to size and rounded the corners of it and assembled the book and finally added some ribbon to the rings. I hope you like it. Gemma  x

For my second make I used this little penguin, called Paul Penguin Sleighing from our Sponsors. One of my favourites things is to add a PNG digi over an already coloured background. This snowy Sky is my own found HERE. I then printed out three other penguins, coloured them with Promarkers and used them to 3D the first penguin, which is another of my favourite things to do!  I also have a 'thing' for fonts. I try to link my posts to freebie fonts whenever I can. Another thing, which I don't get to use very often is to use acetate.  I've fixed the snowflakes onto acetate so I can have then off the edge of the card. More to see on my Blog!

For this reminder I also used a mix of my favorite things.
First I began by choosing the beautiful "Blissful Angel" digi from our sponsor Robyn`s Fetish, because I love angels, as a reminder that God takes care of us.
Then I made a Christmas Card because that´s my favorite holiday. I love family gathering and sharing.
Finally I used one of my favorite paper techniques: Iris Folding.
I also love coloring and this is my first attempt with my brand new Spectrum Noir Pens. I have to say I`m really pleased.

Pop back later, there might be some more!

To enter the challenge link your project HERE and remember - we love to see any kind of crafts entered. Cards, art journal pages, ATC's, needlework, scrapbook pages, paintings, quilts, sculptures, shadow boxes... EVERYTHING is welcome!

Challenge #21 - Favourite Things

Hi everyone!

It's Daire here! I have some big news for you today... this is my last ever challenge as part of the Quirky Crafts Design Team. I've had such a great time over the past ten months; I've really loved stretching my creativity in new and exciting ways but unfortunately I have to prioritise 'real life' things for now.

For my final challenge I'd like you to create something using your favourite things; this could be your favourite colour, your favourite technique, your favourite theme, your favourite brand... whatever you like! The one rule is I want you to tell us which of your favourite things you've used, otherwise how will we know?

Cazzy added this - haha!

This challenge is sponsored by Robyn's Fetish, who have provided the team with great images to work with, and Crafty Ribbons :

There are also some great prizes on offer for our three favourite entries:

1st Place - Your choice of 5 images from Robyn's Fetish.

2nd Place - A voucher for Crafty Ribbons, to buy ribbons, buttons and more!

3rd Place - Your choice of 3 images from Robyn's Fetish

Now for some fabulous creations from our guest designers:

Tress said: "I used the image from Robyn's Fetish, My Little Cook.  As for favorites...this card includes many of them!  Little girls' hair worn in doggy ears (too darn cute!), cooking (I'm a passionate cook), green (my color), chocolate chip cookies (yummy), shoes with embellishments (thankfully they still make sandals for women with flowers on them, lol), and last but not least I used my favorite coloring medium of Copic markers."

Kemly said: "Things I like: Within the things that I like and enjoy the most, is Christmas, a time where we have the perfect excuse to share with friends and family. We can give ourselves permission to eat candies and many different meals, enjoy the beautiful decorations, full of brightness and color. Enjoy the illusion of children waiting for Christmas to receive their wishlist, brought by Santa and his good friend Rudolf to celebrate Baby Jesus birth. In my project, I resurrected the idea of the arrival of Rudolf, with his magical red nose, in front of the sled, coming from town to town giving away smiles everywhere.
Thank you very much for the nice opportunity to serve as Guest Designer."

For more ideas and inspiration, look at what our design team have been up to....

Daire

For this challenge I decorated a tea tin (my favourite drink) using a selection of my favourite black and white papers: pages from a colouring book, a page from a Mandarin poetry book, some hand doodled papers (one of my favourite things to do) as well as the book worm digi stamp from Robyn's Fetish (if you you read my blog you'll know my favourite way to spend my time is getting lost in a good book). I pasted all my scraps on using my favourite adhesive (Collage Pauge) and finished it off with some of my favourite sparkly things (rhinestones, glitter glue and sparkly nail varnish). Check out my blog tomorrow if you want to see what I'm going to be using this tin for (I'll also be giving away a free printable!)

We are also saying goodbye to Valou for now, she has come to the end of her 2 month GD spot, apart from the reminder post and voting, and we would like to thank her for her beautiful contributions to our challenges. Thank you Valou, all the best to you and your family and we hope to see you again in challenges, and of course you can apply for another 2 month GD position.

Valou said:
For my favorite things, they are flowers as well as blue and pink, my two favorite colors.

I made a wall hanging in the shape of a giant tag. The gorgeous digi stamp was provided by 'Robyn's Fetish' and was lovely to use.
This challenge's theme was to use our favourite things.  This gave me the chance to use all of the items I love to use the most. I used several sheets of my favourite Christmas papers, tore each one into pieces, inked around them and paper pieced them together onto the giant hardboard tag. I coloured the reindeer in with some of my favourite mediums, including Inktense blocks, and Portfolio crayons. I also love to use Prima resist canvas (as the leaves), Treasure Gold, and Distress ink pads. I really enjoyed this challenge.

I used Paul Penguin sleighing (thanks to Robyn's Fetish) on my card, and my favourite colour combo of purple and bright green, I also love penguins and all birds. The card blank is my favourite sparkly glittery purple card, and I raided my stash of precious buttons for some purple and bright green ones. I also love to use ribbon and this bright green ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons.

When I saw this little cook I knew I'd have to hunt out my favourite cooking papers and do my favourite thing, which is lots of layering and 3-D-ing, add my favourite brads and buttons and of course colour her with my favourite Promarkers! See the inside and more detail on my blog!

Doris - may be along later, but is not well.

Hi!!! this proyect is a mix up of different things I like the most. I´m not a skill crafter, so I have trouble cutting with scissors or cutters. So, since I have met my Cameo machine, I felt in love with it and I do everything with it. This recipe card gift box was cut with it. Next, I love Tim Holtz techniques, so I used a regular white cardboad and ink it up with my distress inks, after that I embellish the cardboard with some blue ink swirls and add some shimmer with blue metallic perfect pearls. I chose "My Little Cook" digi from our sponsor Robyn´s Fetish, because I like to cook for my family. I color my image with my Prismacolor pencils. I like to color, I find it so relaxing. Finally inside the box you will find one of my favorite recipes "Coca Cola Carrot Cake", I hope you try it and you will understand why is one of my favorites. Greetings from Costa Rica.

*Is 1/2 CUP of vegetable oil.

Remember - we love to see any kind of crafts entered. Cards, art journal pages, needlework, scrapbook pages, paintings, quilts, sculptures, shadow boxes... EVERYTHING is welcome!

Note: we have one more image we haven't showed you, and that will appear on the reminder post next week!
