Challenge #7 Spyder's Quirky Sketch and/Or Bingo!

Happy Easter Sunday everyone! Welcome back to Quirky Craft's Challenge Blog! Please scroll down to the post below to see if you were a winner of our last challenge, which I added a few hours ago!  It's Spyder, (Lyn) here, and it's my turn to set the theme to this next Quirky Challenge and I'm going to confuse you all completely, by having a Sketch, which you don't have to use but also giving you a choice of a Quirky Bingo, which you do have to use and the more things the better! Okay...you're confused! Here's the Sketch...

Use this sketch anyway you like to create any thing you want but, we won't mind if you don't use it, or change it.. because we're Quirky that way, but!!! Here's the Quirky Bingo and we want you to use as many things on it as you can!!

Of course, if you're feeling really Quirky, you can use both the Sketch and the things on the Bingo card too!!
Tell us what you've done in your post or where you add your challenge link back here on your blog, or in a comment here. You could mix and match, the tin foil could be die-cut and embossed, the charm could be metal. Can't wait to see what you do!!

Our fantastic sponsors this fortnight are ...
Who are kindly offering our First Prize winner 5 Digital Images
and Our Third prize winner 3 Digital images!

and

Digital Delights
Who are offering our second prize winner $5 to spend
in the Digital Delights Store!

Here's some fantastic inspiration from our Designers using Digital Images from Robyn's Fetish!!

I used the blissful angel from our sponsor  Robyn's Fetish as the focal point for a page for my journal. I added the Bible Quote beneath using Microsoft word, and then die cut the circle, dry embossing the edge. I used heat embossing on the top and bottom righthand corners, then stitched using gold twine around the edge. The background papers were from Tim Holtz and I used tearing on the top sheet.  I finished the page off with a metal charm, copper tin foil, gold pen work, and coloured the wings with sakura stardust.  In fact, I think I managed to follow the sketch and include everything Lyn asked for except flowersoft!
Well done Caro, it looks fantastic! I've used Wake Up Birdie from Robyn's Fetish and used the sketch, torn and embossed the papers, used a metal charm, which I found in my garden when digging! Embossed some tin, which used to be a tube of glue, with a butterfly embossing folder and then cut out the butterfly, used a scalloped die-cut and added ribbon and a bow. I've also 3D-ed the digi. Link to freebie font on blog.

Cazzy  will be here later too.... think maybe she's had too made Easter Eggs! Ha ha very funny Lyn (I thought the post wouldn't go out on time and I would get away with it)!

Sorry I am a bit late, I have had a hectic few days! I am ready now. My first card uses Belinda Bunny from Robyn's Fetish, and I stuck to Spyder's sketch, and included baker's twine, die cutting, heat embossing and real stitching.

This is Mrs Turner and Hooch from Robyn's Fetish, I printed them out large so couldn't really use the sketch. I have used an embossing folder to emboss the background, ribbon, die cutting and metal staples.

I made this project using the digi English tea cup from Robyn's Fetish. I traced and cut it in black colored adhesive paper. Then I put on colored cardboard, roses, leaves and plate. It is a gift box. I also decorate it with distress inks, flowers, feathers, brads, charm, ribbon and flourish in tin metal glitter.

Daire - will be along later or maybe not - someone tipped a cup of coffee into her printer so she can't print off the images, and is on the warpath right now! She will join us for the reminder post - even if she hasn't managed to print off any images to use!

Final reminder for Challenge 6 - all about boys with ric rac and buttons and a sentiment.

I am so late with my make I decided to post a new reminder post! This baby book is made with a cutting file from The Cutting Cafe, I cut it in red and blue, then cut the letters in polka dot patterned paper. I added white baby ric rac, buttons, and printed some images from the All About Babies file onto printable shrink plastic, coloured them with Promarkers and shrank them. The sentiment is from the same file, a few buttons and some Crafty Ribbons gingham ribbon, with some dummys from stash and it was done.

I decorated inside on the B page with an image from All About Babies.

I also added an image to the Y page. I will probably add a bit more, you need to be careful that anything you add doesn't show though the letters - unless you want it to!

Cutting file and image file available from The Cutting Cafe who are sponsoring this challenge with three generous prizes.

Challenge Details:
All About Boys with ric rac, buttons and a sentiment/phrase is the theme of our challenge. Babies are adorable and are a present every day of the year. So here you have a place to express your feelings for the babies and little boys. Remember: Is all about Boys and don´t forget you must use ric rac, buttons and a sentiment/phrase, you can also use ribbons, lace, embellishments.

The Cutting Cafe kindly provided the team with two sets to use: All About Boys, and All About Babies.

I hope you enjoy this challenge, and I can not wait to see your creations!!
So, let´s see what our fabulous Guest Designer and Design Team have been up to...

The first project is a LO of a picture of my dad when he was four, by the year 1948. He has always loved cowboy stuff and that was my inspiration. I still remember myself, as a little girl, sat beside him every night, watching Bonanza… Good times

The second project is a favor box ship. I think this could be lovely for a boy baby shower.
I made another page for my new art journal (journalling could very well get to be addictive!). My page used lots of distress inks in the background with masking and inking through stencils.  The main image is not of a baby, but of my son Alex who is now 5.  I photoshopped the photo to make it look like a sketch drawing in vintage colours, I then added a stamped meadow scene from IndigoBlu and birds from Lavinia stamps.  The frog, lizard and sentiment (used as a sun) are from Cutting Cafe's 'All about boys' set. I finished it off with tiny buttons for flowers and yellow ric rac as the suns rays.

This image is from the All About Babies set, the sentiment is part of the image. I cut out the mats with a new Spellbinders A2 Matting set of dies that are a really useful size I think. Coloure with Promakers and glittery ric rac added, with assorted buttons and some soft stars I found.

Every image used on this card is from the All About Boys set, even the waves! I cut around a wave to insert the little boat. One big button and some baker's twine. I didn't think the sparkly ric rac under the image showed up so I added some fluffly ric rac for clouds.
Sorry, I'm away (dog sitting) and didn't have any ric-rac, (so take out card, rip off baby feet ribbon and replace same card, re-vamped with ric rac!! Bet you never noticed! ) I nipped home and raided all my ribbon jars and found some scraps of white ric-rac and coloured them blue using a pale blue Promarker. A simple card using one of the wordings from our sponsor, just the right size to use my largest scalloped die-cut. Two baby buttons, a little suit and a bottle, with the backs cut off and fixed with silicon glue and three brad buttons. I also used some baby papers (some have glitter, some are double sided)  from a set by Forever Friends, called 'New Arrival'.
My first project is a card shaped bottle, for which I use lace, buttons, flowers, and ribbon. BABY BOTTLE SHAPED CARD 2 & INVITE SET..PDF TEMPLATE - WPC CUTTING FILE from our sponsor The Cutting Cafe'. I also use the set ALL ABOUT BABIES....PRINTABLE STAMP SET. for the phrase BABY.

My second project can serve as gift packaging or favor box. For this I use ric rac, ribbon, eyelets, buttons and the  ONESIE SHAPED CARD....TEMPLATE - CUTTING FILE,  also courtesy of our sponsor The Cutting Cafe. To the figure of crab, I use the UNDER THE SEA ..... PRINTABLE STAMP SET, gave color to the crab, cut and paste.

This is a milk carton favor box . I made this using the set, EASTER MILK CARTON SET....TEMPLATE - CUTTING FILE, I used lace, glitter tulle, the tricycle image and for the phrase I use ALL ABOUT BABIES....PRINTABLE STAMP SET .

For this card I use ALL ABOUT BABIES....PRINTABLE STAMP SET from our sponsor The Cutting Cafe' . I made imitation ric rac from the same card as the base, which serves to close the card, and in addition I used buttons, ribbon, a silhouette and coordinated colors. And of course the main phrase on each project.

This panel is made of lots and lots of layers (the first being a collage of ribbon, ric rac and buttons among other things) - I'll share pics on my blog later. Even my 'boy' colours ended up a little bit girly, but I tried to man it up a bit with the aeroplane image from The Cutting Cafe... what do you think? My sentiment is a quote by Eda J. Le Shan ("A new baby is like the beginning of all things - wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities.") as I thought it went quite nicely with the flying theme I incorporated. I'm not sure what I'll be doing with this, I might stick it on a card or mount it onto the front of a journal, we'll see!

We now publish a midway reminder and you will see more great examples next week, some using different images from our sponsors, so watch out for the reminder post!

Also If you haven`t visited our Facebook page, we now feature entries that comply with our challenge brief, you could have been featured already if you have entered the last few challenges, or you could featured from this challenge
