98% happy dance

Apart from the birth info Elliot’s birth sampler is finished.
It could be a few days before that’s added as Mel is currently in hospital 😢 she has a bad infection in her right wrist and is going to theatre in the morning to have it cleaned out so has more important things on her mind than deciding what info she wants!

It’s not like I don’t have other projects to do in the mean time 😁

Lots of pretty flowers

Last Sunday was as you know Mothers Day here in the UK and Mel arranged for some flowers to be delivered for me.
Unfortunately Royal Mail let her down and they didn't arrive on Saturday as arranged :(  it was Tuesday before I got them because RM tried to deliver them when I wasn't home and didn't bother to try and leave them with my lovely neighbour.

They came with a cardboard vase to put them in (it's lined with a bag don't panic!) which I think is a fantastic idea

I spent some time with Mel on Monday and she felt bad that I hadn't had my flowers so she gave me these as well :)

This year's Christmas gifts

I can now also share the gifts I beaded for Christmas this year.

For Mum I made the Wildflower box from Julia Pretl but used my own colours for it.
I made it right after I'd made the one for me in this post

For Lucy I made Happy Jack also from Julia Pretl

Unfortunately I had a little hiccup with the box for Mel and it wasn't finished in time for Christmas :(  and still isn't but Mel knows all about it

She did however get her annual bookmark
You may or may not know that Mel is a Detachment Commander with the Army Cadets so anything to connected to poppies and remembrance holds a very special place in her heart so as soon as I saw this one I knew I had to make it for her.

Lucy's one this year is skulls, after making her a Doctor Who one the last couple of years I wanted a change

And lastly a couple of little stars that went to two stitching friends that I spent Boxing day with this year

Congratulations Mel

Mel has been promoted at Cadets and is now a Staff Sargent :) :) :)

Not only that but she now is also a detachment commander :) :) :)

Weekend progress

Late in the week again but it's here at last :)
See that single green X on the left hand side?  Well that's the left edge of the design, I was falling asleep as I got that far but I was determined I was getting that one stitch in!

Stitching updates

Once again I didn't get round to posting my stitching progress last week so here we go.

I spent Monday - Friday last week working on Halloween Moon, the model for Sparklies

I spent Saturday and Sunday with Splendor aka Mel's Rose and got loads done on it, shame it wasn't IHSW cause that's what I did!

And Monday - Friday this week I've been working on Ho Ho Ho

I spent my week with Flower Tender and got the flower and bee finished apart from his eye which I'll do next time round I just didn't get round to it this time

And of course the weekend saw me working on Splendor aka Mel's Rose

Mel has been dropping big hints on and off all year about her 21st birthday present so I took the hint and pulled it out.

Some Christmas gifts

I've made a few of the gifts I've given this year and of course I couldn't share them until they had been handed out so here goes.

Lucy loves skulls so when monthly bead along appeared for 2 drop peyote and someone posted a link to this etsy shop I had a hard time picking one but eventually settled on this one

Mel is an animal lover and when I saw this racing turtle bracelet kit I had to get it for her

Lucy is also a huge Doctor Who fan so again when someone posted a link somewhere to this Etsy shop I had another hard time picking which one to stitch for her. But it did make for an easy stitch when I was sick a few months ago

Updates

I'm late with these this week but I have a good reason......

I'm really pleased with how much I got done on Legends over the weekend, fingers crossed I do as well this weekend.

I added my sheep to Mary's Sampler

Here's my good reason :)
Teejay and his Mum have been here to help Mel celebrate her birthday yesterday at Chester Zoo

UFO RR finished

With finishing MW last weekend I had to find a new project for the weekends and I settled on tiger I sent out on the UFO RR late last year who came home almost done.
It kinda feels like cheating to have worked on this as a weekend project cause I knew he'd be done in a weekend but on the other hand if I didn't it could be a long, long time till he got finished.  And besides he fit's in with my goal of finishing projects that I started the year with.

So here's how he started out yesterday morning (its also how he come home after the UFO RR)

And here he is earlier this evening.

I have to admit I'm not very happy with the way the whiskers have turned out but otherwise he's lovely and I adore his nose!

Today

I was planning on posting about the Christmas tree today but that was this morning before something more interesting came along in the form of firemen :)

Over the road from me is a large area of what can only be called waste ground and today the land agents decided to do something about the fly tipping that's been going on but instead of doing the sensible thing and removing it the guys they hired to do the job decided to set fire to it.
So one of my neighbours called the fire bridgade out (they bet me to it)

This is just after they put it out and I wish I'd grabbed my camera earlier afterwards to show how high the flames were and how bad the smoke was

The burn area ran from where you can see it in the pic to past the end of the pic, it was big!

Mel came in my bedroom to talk to me while I watched the clear up and she lay down on my bed to play a game.
Rosie decided that Mel looked like a comfortable place to lie down and go to sleep

She looked so content

Then this evening she did it again only to DBF this time when he lent over the sofa to talk to Mel and Dan

I'll come back tomorrow with the tree

Chelford Traction Engine Rally (very pic heavy)

Yesterday DBF, Mel, her DBF and I went off to a traction engine rally and had a blast.
Here's just a few of the photo's from the day

This engine has only recently been discovered and its the first time it's been out on display for 40 years

I sat watching this monkey for a while as I sat and listened to one of the organs playing

These are all animated

Right at the end of the day Mel wanted to have a go at rock climbing so off she went
