SOMETHING ABOUT LOVE Cover Reveal & Giveaway!

I am so excited to be part of Elana Johnson's cover reveal, because I received an ARC of SOMETHING ABOUT LOVE, and fell in love with it! (Ha! No pun intended.) Elana has a gift with verse novels. It was absolutely beautiful. The main character is a photographer, and I loved how much of the story that colored--- especially in the way she saw beyond the surface of other people and, ultimately, herself. I highly recommend it.

Annnnnnnnd....... Here's the cover!!

High school senior Olivia Winging gave up her love of photography when she gave up her boyfriend, Trevor Youngblood, a year and a half ago. She broke things off with Trevor because her mom married his dad, and dating your step-brother? Creepy.

Livvy hasn’t been on good terms with her mother since, and one of her stipulations for staying at the Youngblood’s every other weekend is that Trevor can’t be there. When she gets nominated for the Junior Photography in Excellence award, Trevor insists she enter. She agrees—only if every photo in the portfolio can be of him. Knowing that Livvy can capture a person’s deepest secrets through her lens, Trevor hesitates before accepting the deal.

As Livvy gets behind the lens of her camera again, her love of photography is rekindled. Unfortunately, the time she spends with Trevor also re-ignites the old flame for him she’s kept smothered for so long.

In order for Livvy to finish her portfolio, she’ll have to face her feelings for Trevor as well as deal with the animosity between her and her mother. Livvy’s always been able to capture a person’s soul from behind the camera—but she’s not sure she likes it when the lens is suddenly focused on her. If she can’t find a way to forgive her mother and admit how she feels about Trevor, Livvy may end up losing more than just the photography contest. She could lose her heart.

Special Promo: Elevated, Elana’s first verse novel, will be FREE for five days in September as SOMETHING ABOUT LOVE releases! (Another incredible book! Have I mentioned?) So get your copy of Elevated for free from Monday, September, 15 – Friday, September 19.

Praise for Elana’s first verse novel, Elevated:

“The taut poetry keeps tension high. The plot is deftly paced, as past intrudes on present, like a photograph emerging in developing fluid.” ~San Francisco Book Review

“Every word Johnson writes carries an emotional heft that lifts readers up to the highest happiness and then sends them crashing down to the depths of despair. It is easy to flow from the first word to the last without ever putting down the book. Johnson shows outstanding talent in this form, and her words are beautiful, important and deeply felt.” ~The Deseret News

Giveaway of an ebook of ACEA AND THE ANIMAL KINGDOM!

Looking for a great MG fantasy? An author who lives not far from me graciously donated one filled with action and mystery for your winning enjoyment.
Twelve-year-old Acea Bishop was always the kid who would rather go to the library during recess to read about animals instead of playing basketball like the other boys. Now, after waking up inside of an ancient kingdom strangely resembling a zoo, Acea is running from those same animals he used to love reading about.

Worse yet? Acea’s not just on a quest to get home – his mom and the dad-he-never-knew are both being held hostage inside by an evil sorcerer with a vendetta. Realizing that his odds of survival and freeing his parents are dim, Acea raises an army of animals to combat the sorcerer and regain control of the kingdom.

Follow Acea as he travels through the exotic zoo habitats and unlocks the secrets of the kingdom’s mysterious past that hold the key to his fate.

Acea has secrets. Big ones. He just doesn’t know it yet.

Cover reveal & giveaway for Jessie Humphries' KILLING RUBY ROSE

I am so thrilled to be a part of my girl Jessie Humphries's cover reveal! This book is going to knock your socks off. It's the most amazing blend of uberly smart and incredibly funny, all wrapped up in an amazing thriller. Much like Jessie herself, actually. Here's officially what it's about:
In sunny southern California, Ruby Rose is known for her killer looks and her killer SAT scores. But ever since her dad, an LAPD SWAT sergeant, died six months ago, she’s also got a few killer secrets.

To cope with her father’s death, Ruby has been trying to stay focused on school (the top spot in her class is on the line) and spending time with friends (her Jimmy Choos and Mahnolo Blahniks are nothing if not loyal), but after months of therapy and more than a few months of pathetic parenting by her mom, District Attorney Jane Rose, Ruby decides to pick up where her dad left off and starts going after the bad guys herself.

But when Ruby ends up killing a murderer in defense of another, she discovers that she’s gone from being the huntress to the hunted. There’s a sick mastermind at play, and he has Ruby in his sights. Ruby must discover who’s using her to implement twisted justice before she ends up changing Valentino red for prison orange.

With a gun named Smith, a talent for martial arts, and a boyfriend with eyes to die for, Ruby is ready to face the worst. And if a girl’s forced to kill, won’t the guilt sit more easily in a pair of Prada peep-toe pumps?

See what I mean? It's amazing, and you're definitely going to want to pick this baby up in another two months when it comes out. But let's get on to the cover!

(Hint: Amazon has it for an UNBELIEVABLE price right now!)

Jessie Humphries was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV. She received a BA from San Diego State University, where she cultivated her love of the beach, then lived in France, where she cultivated her weakness for shoes, and finally earned a law degree from UNLV, where she cultivated her interest in justice. After practicing law for several years she began writing, and, appropriately, her debut novel Killing Ruby Rose is a thriller about vigilante justice set in sunny southern California with a shoe-obsessed protagonist. Jessie currently writes and practices law in Las Vegas, where she lives with her husband and children.

ELEVATED by Elana Johnson-- Cover Reveal and Giveaway!

I'm thrilled to be part of Elana Johnson's cover reveal for ELEVATED, because I think the cover is incredible! What do you think?

About ELEVATED: The last person seventeen-year-old Eleanor Livingston wants to see on the elevator—let alone get stuck with—is her ex-boyfriend Travis, the guy she's been avoiding for five months.

Plagued with the belief that when she speaks the truth, bad things happen, Elly hasn’t told Trav anything. Not why she broke up with him and cut off all contact. Not what happened the day her father returned from his deployment to Afghanistan. And certainly not that she misses him and still thinks about him everyday.

But with nowhere to hide and Travis so close it hurts, Elly’s worried she won’t be able to contain her secrets for long. She’s terrified of finally revealing the truth, because she can’t bear to watch a tragedy befall the boy she still loves.

Kobo: http://store.kobobooks.com/en-US/ebook/elevated

Praise for ELEVATED:

"ELEVATED will take you on an emotionally gripping journey

"Poignant, raw, and intense, ELEVATED is a novel that will grip your heart
and linger in your mind long after you turn the last page."
~Stasia Ward Kehoe, author of Audition and The Sound of Letting Go

"This book was brilliant and beautiful and touching and captivating and heartbreaking and amazing and kept me glued to my Kindle screen while I laughed and cried, always dying to know what happened next. LOVED it."
~Peggy Eddleman, author of nothing even close to verse

Okay, so maybe I'm not one of her official reviewers, and I just stole that from my own Goodreads review... But seriously, guys-- this book is amazing, and you should go on over to Goodreads right now and add it as a to-read. Here-- I'll even provide you with the link.

Sky Jumpers AUDIO giveaway + holiday swag!

Guys, I haven't blogged in FIVE WEEKS. Far cry from the days when I posted every week day, no? NaNo and school visits and family and holidays bucked me off the blogging horse. And then the horse ran away. I just barely managed to coax the horse back so I could jump back on. Such a long break calls for a giveaway, doesn't it?

Let's do it!

At the same time that Sky Jumpers released from Random House, the audio book released from Listening Library. The girl who reads it, Abigail Revasch, is INCREDIBLE. I have absolutely loved listening to her. So I'm giving away a copy of it on CD! If you win, you can consider it an early present for whatever holiday you celebrate this time of year. Or you can give it to that special child (or teacher!) on your list.

Giveaway starts Monday, December 2 and runs until December 7. Open internationally.

If you are, email me at peggy @ peggyeddleman (dot) com with your mailing address, and I'll send you two free bookmarks (front and back pictured below) as well as a signed bookplate to include with your gift. SKY JUMPERS giveaway, link to MG questions, and SJ's origin

I am buried so very, very deeply in my revision cave, it took hours to climb back out! (Only not really. I'm actually just below the surface-- there's still a blog tour to write posts for and kids to get ready to go back to school this week and dinner to make, you know?) Anyway, how about a few updates?

I'm thrilled to announce that there's another giveaway of a SKY JUMPERS advanced reader copy (ARC), and it's also open internationally! There's a link to enter just right over there ----> in the sidebar.

Speaking of SKY JUMPERS... The American Booksellers Association just unveiled their list of Best Books for Children of 2013, and SKY JUMPERS made the list! (In case you were wondering, yes. This is what I use to get me over that feeling when I cross something off my to-do list, and realize that there are five more things on it than there was an hour ago...)

Yesterday I did a Q&A live forum event for WriteOnCon. I had so much fun! Everyone asked some very insightful and helpful questions. If you missed it and want to read through the questions and answers, you can right here, in the WriteOnCon forums.

Ever wondered what was the inspiration behind Sky Jumpers (including the soaring through the air that you see on the cover)? I've posted my origins story over at the Crowe's Nest.
