my wedding at green wedding shoes...

Photobucket

How lovely! Thank you to Jen over at the fabulously stylish Green Wedding Shoes for featuring my June 2010 wedding today! It was a treat to share my inspiration for the look and feel of the day, and to describe how all the various details came to fruition. Jen was kind enough to reprint my comments in full, so if you would like to learn more check it all out here...

For those brides getting married in the coming months who do not want to troll around on eBay searching for choice vintage stamps - these new Love stamps from the US Postal Service are a delightful, and much more efficient, option for those stacks of envelopes! Whimsical, colorful, modern...perfect! They come out on May 19 - just in time for late-summer and early-fall events...

to dye for

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Tie dye can be so chic when done right, and this dress by Lindsey Thornburg definitely does it right! I think this would be an amazing look for the unconventional bride, very natural and pretty but with tons of style. I think it's swoon-worthy!

a "wow" bouquet

Stunning! The colors and textures of this wedding bouquet, designed by La Partie Events, make me swoon. I like it almost - just almost - as much as my own gorgeous bouquet.... ;)

oh my...

Did you happen to see these lovely wedding photos over at Style Me Pretty the other day? I think these images are so dreamy... and the deep gray embellished belt over the lace gown is kind of to-die-for, don't you think?

my wedding at once wed

Photobucket

Hey everyone! Hope you're having a fantastic holiday so far. Today I'm super excited to send you over to Once Wed, as they have most kindly featured my wedding there (there are two parts - click here for part 1, and for part 2.) It's very flattering that such an awesome wedding blog wanted to share my pictures, which were taken by the terrifically-talented Heidi Geldhauser from Our Labor of Love (fyi, there are tons more photos over at her blog!) I've included a few more below, and over the next couple days I plan on sharing more of the detail shots and eye candy...

wedding sneak peek

PhotobucketPhotobucket

I've been dying to share some pictures of my gorgeous wedding invitations created last spring by Loveleigh Invitations. Every detail was custom-designed by these lovely ladies, and I feel lucky to have been able to send out such a beautiful package to my guests. It makes me so happy to see my grizzly bear, ostrich and owl all decked out in their wedding finery - top hats, bow ties and boutonnieres were mandatory for the animals!

I'm super excited becuase in the next week or so I'll finally be able to share my wedding photos, shot by the amazing Heidi Geldhauser of Our Labor of Love - including more detail shots of the invites shown above. Stay tuned!

Wedding Bits and Pieces

A few of you have asked me about my wedding photos. Oh how I wish I could share them with you, but for the moment I have to keep them under wraps! In the meanwhile, here are a view glimpses of wedding decor that have found a new home in my home. These amazing striped banners are some of my favorite pieces from the whole wedding. Created as welcome banners to flank the main entrance to the ceremony, they were custom-made by my colleague Matt Muscarella with gorgeous calligraphy by Melissa Kistler. Now they hang in my guest bedroom over the pillow-strewn daybed. The kittens seem to approve, and so do I...

Guaranteed...

This will be THE wedding shoe of 2011, no doubt about it. The new, turquoise version of the cobalt blue, Manolo Blahnik stunner first seen in Sex in the City... it is simply perfection. I might have even considered it for my big day, but I feel pretty good about the ones I ended up with....

I have a new sofa!

Photobucket

I have a new sofa. It's pretty awesome. Normally this would be the kind of purchase that I would belabor for months, but an unexpected opportunity arose to buy this sofa for a very, very good price (working for Urban Outfitters does offer a few perks) so I kind of jumped on it. It's Anthropologie's Milo sofa in Marimekko's Bottna upholstery. I love the rolled arms and tufting - very classic Chesterfield, but the print makes it totally fun and fresh. I realize there's a lot going on now in my living room - perhaps too much? - but for now I'm feeling things out. I may do some redecorating later this summer - new paint, curtains, etc - if necessary. Anyway, here are a few more views, plus some random shots from around the room...

After the Wedding

It might be a while before I am able to share pictures from my big day, but until then here are some snapshots of the aftermath that a friend caught on his iPhone. My event planner and floral designer were clearing the tables, but even in their unorganized state everything looks so beautiful. I love seeing all the flowers massed on one table, and my animal figurines seem so happy gathered together. It was such a wonderful day, and every image recalls happy memories. Here's one more that sums it all up...

I'm married! I'm still recovering from all the festivities, but will be back to posting soon. Hopefully there will be some good pics to follow...

Ted Muehling Jewelry

Ted Muehling makes the most gorgeous jewelry. Period. His handcrafted pieces (not just jewelry, but decorative objects too) are inspired by nature and showcase the beautiful stones and materials from which they are crafted. Now I love big, bold costume jewelry, but it sure is nice to rock a pair of delicate, precious little earrings too. That's why I am featuring some of his lovely dangling earrings today. My sweetie was so thoughtful to gift me with a pair of Muehling's turquoise berries for Christmas, and I will be wearing a pair of his perfect pink pearls (seen at top) on my wedding day. They are exquisite, but not too ridiculous of a splurge, and you will have them forever. You can't buy online, but his lovely eponymously named shop in NYC sells his wares, and in Philadelphia the collection can be found at one of my favorite boutiques, Egan Day. If you have the chance to stop at either store, be sure to peruse the also-fabulous pieces by Gabriella Kiss (who happens to make the most gorgeous engagement and wedding rings...)

Utopia Circus

As you all know by now, I'm kinda of obsessive about anything Jonathan Adler. And I happen to also love the circus. So these new additions to his Utopia collection are kind of awesome! I want them all - the acrobat, the muscle man, the lion tamer, the clown lady...
