Love this room!

Photobucket

What a great mix of pieces and styles in this home recently featured in Philadelphia Home magazine. I am digging the antique armoire paired with the Jonathan Adler ceramics, vintage chandelier, Marimekko window shade, and whimsically decal-ed ceiling. More images here...

Luxe Organic

Another of my favorite Philly boutiques is the lovely Bruges Home, located in my old stomping ground of Old City. They carry a spectacularly well-curated array of furniture and decorative home accessories, all with an organic element about them. I love drooling over the pressed butterflies suspended under glass cloches, the perfect coffee table books, and as always the large selection of John Derian goods. If you are ever in Philadelphia, it is a shopping must. And for those of you outside the area, they have a comprehensive e-commerce site. Here are some more tantalizing images from their store...

Sweet Animals

I know they are not new, but I can't get over these lovely handmade animals and objects by Tamar Morgendorf. Just looking at them makes me happy, particularly that darling little greyhound. While pricey, they are like little works of art. Inspiring as well...they make me want to round up all my vintage scraps and start sewing.

FYI, the artist created some delightful little bird cage ornaments this year (the smallest version seen above) and they are oh-so-reasonably priced at $32! They would look lovely on a Christmas tree or even hanging in a window all year long. Available at Petulia's Folly (my fave Philly boutique!)

Butcher & Singer

For my Philly friends, how great is this wall mural at the new Stephen Starr restaurant, Butcher & Singer?!  I have a thing about dogs wearing clothes, and this sophisticated scene takes the cake. I mean, there's a doberman wearing a robe and ascot and a Great Dane in a sailor uniform!

As for the restaurant, it's newly opened at 15th and Walnut Streets in the former Striped Bass location.  It's styled on a 60's era supper club, with swanky, round leather booths, big steaks, and big cocktails.  I have only seen the pics so far, but I'm imagining something a la Mad Men. If so, it might be the perfect opportunity to break out a vintage dress and satin heels!
