Waltzingmouse Blog Party!

Hi all, I'm fashionably late for this month's WM Blog Party, yesterday was my son's birthday and i knew it would be a bit of a crazy day with last minute preparations!

I'm in a bit of a rush today too, as my daughter has her birthday sleepover tomorrow, so i have to get the party food sorted, and cry quietly in a corner lol! So, not too much waffle from me!

I have used this week's WMSC sketch,  and the colours from this week's CR84FN, although the deadline for entries is today folks!

I have used My Island and Offbeat Backgrounds to create a slightly grungy feel card. I was going to do some tartan plaid, but fell upon the idea of some stitchy plaid instead! So I used the polka dots stamped in Butterscotch Adirondack ink, and the stitch stamp also from Offbeat Backgrounds in Brilliance Chocolate Brown. It has a lovely sheen when you turn it in the light - if you have light of course!

I added a Spellbinders layered Butterfly using Core'dinarions card, and a bit of bling.
The island is stamped in Memento Rhubarb Stalk, and the sun rise in Cantaloupe and Butterscotch inks.

That's all from me, and for my U.S visitors, I will leave you with the scene from my front window, which has pretty much been the same for about the last 7 weeks - grey, dull, and rainy. It had just started raining as I took this pic, and we have all just had enough of it!!
I know Stateside you have had a terrible heatwave, so here's a bit of rainy old England to cheer you up!

Happy partying and thanks for stopping by!

Pauline

Great combination of challenges on this Pauline! love the colors and your angle cut ribbon across the middle - the faux stitching blocks look great too! you are a busy mother with the birthdays this week! It looks so lovely and cool there too bad we can't share the heat and sun with you! My co-worker was in Ireland two weeks ago for a week - and it downpoured the whole time! and I hear they are concerned for the Olympics with all the rain over there.. there's just no controlling the weather in this world!

Your card is so soft and beautiful Pauline! love the pink and yellow. Beautiful, job on the layout. For some reason on the West coast we have not been too bad only a few warm days, other than that we have been cooler than normal.
