I'm Back!!

Well Blogland, it has been rather a while since my last post...June last year! Well, my only excuse is I lost my mojo a bit, I ended up doing a lot more hours at work, and had less time to craft, then the festive period arrived..as I work in retail, in a busy Wines dept for Waitrose, I had little to no time or energy to craft. Coupled with the fact I had begun a WSET Course in September, well, I had little time for anything!

Thankfully, now, I have handed in my course work, and feel free to indulge in more pleasant pursuits! My only worry was, could I still craft? And could I remember how to make a blog post? It was fine in the end, I didn't even need to call a teen to help me out!

Last night I created a mini canvas using some lovely stamps I received for Christmas, by Visible Image.

I used the stamp set 'Sparkle in the Rain' for this little glittery creation. I stamped the lovely lady in Versamark and embossed with Sliver Glitter EP from Stampendous, and fussy cut out. I repeated this, and glued them both together, to make a more sturdy topper.

While the glue was drying, I used my Glue pad to stamp the rain and sprinkled Glamour Dust onto it. I then Sliver Glitter embossed the sentiment onto black card and cut out. To 'ground' her I cut some little daisies off a daisy ribbon and some leaves from some leafy ribbon, and glued them on randomly.

Finally I added some silver sequins, the lady and the sentiment. She is sitting on my shelf above my much neglected craft area, sparkling at me.

During last week I also made this card, using Brushos and more Visible Image stamps from their new release, called Create It! and Outside the Lines. I love the way the Brusho colours turned out, and the stamps are embossed in WOW! Silver Glitter powder.

I would like to enter these cards into That's Crafty Challenge -Words, and Sweet Stamper's Challenge - Add a Sentiment, and A Vintage Journey - Words that are Special, and We Love to Create - Mixed Media
I must say it is nice to have a bit of crafty mojo back, I hope you've enjoyed my little makes today.

SSCB#23 - Paper Scraps

Hi all, today brings us a new challenge over at Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog. The theme for this fortnight is to use up those scraps! I don't know about you, but I have a ton of scraps, I just can't bear to part with it! Here's half of my scrap stash - yes I'm unorganised, it all just goes into a box. Then when it's full, I start a new one!

*Warning - Photo heavy Post!!*

So here are the scraps I pulled out today.

And I made a few cards with them!

For my first, I used the Serendipity Stamps Happy Birthday sentiment cut using a Spellbinders Floral frame, and mounted onto a kraft card base embossed with Swiss Dots. I then layered some papers along the bottom, and some pink satin pleated ribbon. Finally I added some Creme Liquid Pearls around the frame.

For the next card, I took a more masculine theme and I used a Houndstooth E.F, and used a strip of patterned paper topped with some brown gingham. The sentiment is Happy Birthday from the Everyday Words Horizontal Sml from Serendipity Stamps.

For my next card I made a Christmas card. I used a Tim Holtz E.F, and although I didn't have any Christmassy scraps, I had some glittery bits, so I used those for some Christmas sparkle.
The Merry Christmas Sml Sentiment is also from Serendipity Stamps.

For my next card I made a Thank You card. I used a Stampin' Up! Chevron E.F, and used some chevron scraps and plain blue card. I cut the Thank You Sml Sentiment using a Spellbinders tag die, and finally added a blue gem and some twine.

Here they are together:

For my next batch of cards, I went for a smaller scale, these are all about 4 x 4.

This card has strips of plain mustard coloured card, and strips of the red stripy card stuck directly to the base. I then cut the heart shape using the Serendipity Stamps Heart Base Die, and stamped Happy Birthday on the bottom.

For this card, I stuck strips of patterned paper to some kraft card, and cut using the S.S Heart die.
Then stamped the sentiment underneath.

For my last card I used the heart die cut from the first card, and stamped the Live Well.. sentiment in red ink. I then layered some strips of floral and stripy patterned papers onto the card base.

Here they are together:

And here all the cards are together. I hope you feel inspired to create using up some of your scraps!

Here's the D.T list for some more inspiration:
